Map is not loading for me. It takes some minutes to load then game crahes. 2 hours ago everyting was fine.

Ok, I'll scale it down a bit then.

Looks like @JG27_Steini was able to get on server now.

 

Changes:
- Back to 2 conflicts

- Added one infantry, tank, and artillery groups to land battles

- Added one ship to front ships and one cargo ship and one escort to convoys

Yes, the Ju-52 is well underrated IMHO. It is a beautiful plane to fly - bloody slow, but very nice and smooth. It is challenging to fly

though, so @KoN_ you should first map the correct keys for the special functions and 3rd engine management, and lastly you

need to practice a little bit before joining the Finish server for supply missions.

I was so hopeful yesterday trying out the A-20 for my missions.

 

1st try: encountered a Heinkel, dropped my bombs and engaged it: Pilot (me) incapacitated immediately

2nd try: went up and heard "he's engaging" from the back....damn it *ding dong dong* "nothing to do here whooooosh"

3rd try: got to the target unscathed, the "bombs" fell  a bit short, two railcars destroyed *slow clap*

 

Can't see to be friends with this silvester cracker carrying excuse of a bomber^^

 

But the video of the Shimpu Tokkotai Lightnings made me cheer up again lol

Server rules:
 -This is a total war server, so basically no rules, so any dirty trick you can imagine, if it helps to defeat the enemy, it's ok :) ... Attacking airfields basically demands for vulching, etc. Cheating(breaking the game mechanics) is of course not allowed, will be reported to the devs, and the offender receives a permanent ban on the server.
- No teamkilling, this includes ground targets. There's an automatic system in place to detect this, and players will be punished if they TK. If you are a victim of a false positive, give us an email.
- Gentleman rules are enforced (no chute shooting etc.). No insulting other players.

I just tried the server again to do some tanking and it was nice to see it so full! Great job on the mission design and the campaign presentation. One thing, however, that still happens is the tank loss when you finish mission even when you head all the way backto base. I ran out of ammo in one of my tanking missions and drove all the way back to base and when I was next to some of our bunkers and finished mission but the server still said that I lost the tank (-70 points) and was lucky to have escaped captured. Am I missing something?

The tankspawn maintenance radius was 1000 m, I doubled that (effective next mission rotation). I hope that will result in the tank not being lost.

Due to huge popular demand, we are finally adding turbulence to the missions ;)  ... The turbulence will be a factor of both windspeed and temperature, so the higher the windspeed and the hotter the air -> more turbulence.

Waaaaaah in a few days this server will also be full every evening...too sad 😄

 

Speaking of atmospheric options would it be possible to add some rainy days and overcast weather every now and then? I think this could be interesting especially for ground attackers that can hide in low hanging clouds then.

I‘d also like some rain or snow (ofc depending on the map). It would surely make it interesting. Maybe instead of the full fog blindness that sometimes (i know, rare) is on. Looking forward to experience the turbulences.

also big props to how fast you guys tweak stuff and react to suggestions! Great stuff

They are supported, but they are quite rare in our season settings. There is a chance of rain, and when the temperature is negative -> it's snow :)

Unfortunately most of the time when I fly it is nearly 30°C Celsius lowering my engine performance and making me bite into the monitor lol

Currently, on the Kuban map, as we don't have a winter version of the map, we only have spring, summer and autumn seasons. And of those only spring has minimum temperature at minus degrees (-5C). The seasons change every two missions, as in: spring -> spring -> summer -> summer -> autumn -> autumn (and then back to spring).

Ah ok, good to know the background. So owing to my long missions I fly (and therefor usually 2 or 3 per evening) I just had the bad luck to get the summer season.

Well, you have to be very lucky to get snow :) ... Only 1/3 in missions are spring, and of the -5C - 22C range it's only 22% chance to be in the negative... and it's 1 / 10 chance to be raining IF there are clouds (25 / 31) 😄

 

EDIT: giving you the total chance of ~0,6% of seeing snow, currently 😄

I made an adjustment to the weather possibilities. Previously, the minimum possible cloud altitude on overcast weather was at 3000 m. I think this is what causes the "foggy" missions. I lowered that to 1000 m now.

Ok, this is on my turf (the code side) now. Will investigate.

 

As for the free tanks: No. The free T-34 damage model is bugged.

Thank you. Regarding the T34 I'm actually referring to the TC version one and not the free version. The free one is not only bugged but also not detailed.

You are using the new "stats.virtualpilots.fi", right? So not the old "ts3.virtualpilots.fi" :)

 

@Riksen
Ok, I've pinpointed you in the logs... The problem(s) seems to be two-fold:

1) For some unknown reason,  even if the despawn happens in the service radius of the tank spawn, there is a destruction log line.
2) When a tank destroys any target, the IDs are handled differently than for aiplanes -> the kill isn't recorded for the attacker. The target is recorded as destroyed though, so you don't have to worry about not making an impact... The score isn't just registered to you, and this is purely superficial, it won't affect the stats website either which calculates stuff independently.

 

So, stuff is handled differently for the tanks than airplanes... So I will have to tune stuff a bit.

Hi 

The other day me and my squad were trying to make a big bomber raid over some target but for our surprise there were no He111 available on any arfield. On the other hand there were ju88 but we did not considered that becuase the Heinkel is easyer for not as skilled pilots so a lot of us were still new on bombers. 

So can someone explain me why there were no 111s? We just could take the suplie 111 and that plane starts on the air already. So do we need to land the suplie plane on some base and then we are able to take the 111 or how does it work?

After much frustration I came to the conclusion, that the A-20 is not made for level bombing. What a useless loadout. 💩
