I am very sad to see that there are few french things while they have been one of the leading countries: '(

For frenchs, only 1 french modern plane is symbolic (exept the SPAD 13C1) like the dewoitine D520 or LeO 45/51 because french planes were at battles in germans camp like in French camp like The Bloch Mb 162

Maybe for the centenary of the first wold war ...

(i have te technicals documents)

Improvement of IA and RoF2 with new engine, FM, and VR. Great news !

But will we have to buy again all the planeset of Rof ?

Yes you will need to buy improved airplanes and a new map. How the heck am I supposed to survive as a company if I have to not sell you things that require labor to complete? I may be able to offer a discount to ROF owners if they behave themselves as we build FC.

Where abouts does the pacific game that you were working on fit into this plan?

I am really keen to see if their are any new sound options in the mix... if there were options to soften the sound I would go test that instantly.

As i'm a big fan of RoF and a new pilot in the Il-2 series (which i also really enjoy so far), these are nice news for me. I'm sure most pilots will understand why you had to change your plans,

As far as i can tell you are already doing great things with the new generation of your products. No BS, just hard work, and results. Just keep it up.

:salute:

Good luck Jason managing the expanded team.  To date the team has always delivered what was promised (plus surprises!) and on time so I have a lot of confidence in the management.

Looking forward to the balance of Kuban and an update on the Pacific project.

Hope the move to the west is a profitable one so we can see the Pacific realised.

(post edited as Jason just answered my original question about FC)

This is amazing news and to show my enthusiasm, I too have pre-ordered. 2018 is looking to be a sim paradise!

With regards too that; how big is the bodenplatte map going to be anyway? a North-south/east-west reference would be interesting to say the least.

I am also wondering.

If it is so that the Ardennes are not part of the map like Jason said then the city of Metz - which was also a target during Unternehmen Bodenplatz and south east of the Ardennes -  is also not included.

So me thinks the southern part of the Netherlands, northern half of Belgium and Germany bordering both countries I suppose.

We will see in near future what parts will form the map. ;)

BoBo is nice.

I can not imagine they will do so.

It is a toddler's magazine here in the Netherlands since ages.

Just ordered all three offerings!

Those late WWII planes (and our first jet!) sound like it will be a blast to fly and fight! I'm most excited for the tanks - I have been waiting years to have a modern WWII tank sim with accurate internal modeling and appropriate gameplay. It will truly be a joy to play and cannot wait for this to take form!

Keep up the awesome work!

HA! I lol'ed. As if... :)

All of these RoF guys were saying they would buy the whole thing over again if it could be updated to IL*2 standard. Soon it will be time to do it :)

Hope springs eternal!

I am happy to pay for the planeset again, and I do not require a discount. In fact I have bought BoS / BoM / BoK / BoBP primarily to support the team, although I most only play RoF... it's OK, it keeps the lights on and your team working, I see it as a cheap investment in the next few thousand hours' worth of entertainment.

Actually, I found a reasonably accurate Bodenplatte map in a bodenplatte map thread here in general discussion. I think I can make a reasonable guess on the map size already.

Regarding FC;

I would request that the Fokker DVII top wing be corrected /remodeled with the proper airfoil thickness center section and scale dihedral and taper to

the outboard wing panels. In ROF this is not the case.

From an artistic point of view, the fall maps of BOS, BOM and BOK are the most evocative, combined with your spectacular atmospheric and lighting

effects. I am constantly in awe. I could be flying in a Taylor, Trudgian, Smith, Ferris, Grinell (insert favorite AV Artist here) or Turner painting.

I'd like to place a vote for a Fall Map for FC.  I'm just sayin'.

I cannot convey in words, how impressed I am with the quality of the workmanship I have had the privilege to

experience in ROF and BOX.

I have no issue what so ever in buying all the updated WWI a/c. You can bill me full price, I'd be glad to pay!  I look forward to them in VR.

You guys had me at  P-47D.

I must say this announcement was certainly not what I was expecting! Still, as much as I was looking forward to getting me some SBD action I'll enjoy putting my man-pants on and flying the chariot of the gods, the Tempest V (I hope the engine audio does the Sabre justice, I want something that sounds like it'll rip 'ya face off)

The MkIX is totally the right choice of Spit to have for BBP, easily the most common variant there, specifically the LF.IXe, although I wouldn't bank on getting 150oct fuel for +25lb boost at the time of Bodenplatte (see link below) but she'll do just fine on 130.

http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/150grade/150-grade-fuel.html

Edit: I think the AI B-25 is a great idea, it lays the foundation for it to be flyable in the future and it's an aircraft that (depending on the variant(s)) flew in just about every theater so it'll be an easy 'gimme' in just about any future expansion.

I'd say BBP as BOB can be confused with Battle of Britain there JM

+1 to BBP, BoB is Battle of Britain.

Ok good deal, I have no problem buying FC1. ROF as it is now will still continue? Maybe something like a 20% off deal for ROF owners or a buy the standard game but get the premium extra planes IF you own them in ROF?  ROF in VR I can't wait!

P-47D in current Il-2. Dreams do come true

This is surprising. Subtitle: Bomber Crews Hardest Hit!

Very disappointed that the PTO has been delayed, but I respect the developers' decision to put it aside until they're ready to provide a product on par with its current excellent offerings. I wasn't even looking forward to the carrier ops so much but instead the other possibilities of land-based USAAF/USMC/RAAF aircraft vs IJN/IJAAF battles after Midway.

I'm also in the apparently very small minority who isn't thrilled with the Bodenplatte idea -- a low altitude slugfest among the war's best German/US/UK fighters and fighter-bombers. My all-time favorite aircraft is the the P-47, and more specifically the P-47 in the fighter-bomber role, but my reaction is still "meh." Bodenplatte will give us the one segment of the western front that resembled some of the combat on the eastern front but of course without medium and light bombers. When I think of the 1943-45 western European air war I think of big bombers, big bomber escorts, big bomber intercepts, and walls of flak against big bombers, and yes I understand the game's limitations and why bomber missions aren't feasible, which is why I did a double take when I saw the news this morning.

On the other hand it's a brilliant business decision that should bring in droves of new people to the sim. Judging by the reaction here, Jason & crew hit a home run with this decision, so congrats! I'll pre-order when the mood strikes me as long as the career mode turns out as good as I think it will be. I guess for now I'll turn my attention to finally honing my tank killing skills in an Il-2 in anticipation of flying my beloved Jug for the first time in four years.

No pls xD Bobo means "Fool" in Spanish, so BoBP is indeed much better hahaha

But it's just so much more fun to say out loud than BoBP :)

I think this is a good choice.  Especially now that DCS seems like it's dropped the ball in Western Europe and who knows if CloD will ever get there... I was wondering a little bit with your dev diary about the aluminum skins... Had me hoping but I didn't really expect this announcement!

P47, P51, P38... holy trinity of American WW2 fighters, CAN'T WAIT!!!

So RoF 2, or Flying Circus as You call it, is going to be ready at least for the centenary of the armistice on 11.11.2018?

This is nothing but outstanding! Really!

On a further note I wonder, if RoF gets an own section here on this board, so that I don't have to bother with looking over there anymore. :)

Hmm. That would be difficult. Here I am a Russian WW2 MiG pilot and there I am a German WW1 Fokker pilot. Although SirTophamHatt isn't really the best name for a German WW1 Fokker pilot. I should probably change it to something more along the lines of BaronVonOberHut or something.

More than happy to buy whatever you produce for an updated RoF.

This is quite bad. The multiplayer community will be divided not only by having BOS.BoK and BOM but also having diffirent theaters of war purchased. This will be terrible. We all know how many people have been having problems without BOM on TAW already.

Also RIP soviet front. Remember this is where BOS originated from. Not done here yet.

I bought everything for RoF. For Flying Circus V1 I'll buy the full package since I already got the value out of what I paid for RoF several times over.

Allmighty! And I had thought you guys are all lying in the sun at a Hawaiian beach!

How much did I hope WW1 flying would be continued and improved.

"Rise of Flight" is real good already - but I guess you have many ideas what to make even better! Wonderful!

The new title - "Flying Circus" - is much more attractive than "Rise of Flight" IMHO.

"Operation Bodenplatte" sounds awesome - nobody has done that theater before, so it should be a thriller!

And then even a tank sim? Boy, I had waited for that a long time!

I hope you make a real good one, where the players can occupy different positions in tanks, and even drive as a team in MULTIPLAYER!

I KNOW there are many people outside waiting for such a simulation!

Give us some great MULTIPLAYER - and I will be a Multipayer ! :salute:

PS: With all the excitement about the future plans, I forgot the release of "Battle of Kuban".
That one is also bouth already. Kuban area is most distinct; great for newbies - you cannot get lost there,

so many landmarks to guide you, rivers, lakes, the Crimean, and then the sea!

If it comes out for Xmas, I know what I'll present to myself!
