Discussion of Bodenplatte, Flying Circus and Tank Crew Announcement...

Recommended Posts

Pre-ordered Bodenplatte and the two collector planes.  Will do the same when Flying Circus pre-orders arrive.  I've gotten my money's worth out of this line so far, and I believe it will continue.

I agree I do hope this drives the final nail into the DCSww2 attempt, So that they move all efforts into the modern area where DCS shines.

I didn't buy BoK so I can save money for Pacific theatre, and you are giving me, my beloved US aircrafts? And a Tempest!!! A bloody Tempest! Whole Bodenplatte aircraft list is glorious, but P-47 and Tempest..  :yahoo:
Tank Crew promises to be amazing too. Too bad can't afford for all of this and thanks you with my money. You are making a amazing job!  :salute:

Awsome news, lot of very good news ... But I have a question.

Why no Typhoon ?
Many complex task were imputed to Typhoon, especially for CAS or very high value target in Holland and Belgium. Often with Tempest for escort.
Lot of people say "Tempest is better" ... Maybe, but an Fw190D9 is better than a 190A8 and the two version is planned.

Typhoon at Vokel :

We rebuild a Typhoon and many parts are the same on both aircraft.
So if team need help for Tempest, my team have lot of original drawings and documents for this plane.

And we have also a full 3D scan of only Typhoon survivor ...

Just ordered BBP and the two new collector aircraft.   Will we be able to use our old RoF aircraft in Flying Circus or will we have to re-buy them again?

Flying Circus will be a blast for sure...more mission building in the years ahead it seems (also will be nice to made some missions over the Netherlands!!)

Hmm... I wonder if you could put RoF2 aircraft on the Bodenplatte map?

lol!... well, I'm not an American, normally an RAF flyer where possible, but... if you force me to fly American planes, if it's a P51 it has to be a B or C model... but I'd much rather fly a razorback Jug truth be told :)

I actually prefer a razorback P-51 as well, but no complaints from me. The Lightning and Spit are also old favorites. I didn't play the old IL-2 but I practically wore out my European Air War disk.

"We will start by focusing on re-furbishing ten of our existing WWI airplanes and providing a partial map of France to fly and fight over. Subsequent Flying Circus products will further expand content and we’ll work to integrate Flying Circus into our Campaign and Career systems over time. Volume I is merely the first important step and it will be a lot of fun! If Flying Circus proves popular we can eventually fire up the Great War assembly line and break out the canvas and timber once again"

We have to buy it again in packs and Im ok with that. I hope that the sales will be high and more WW1 packs will follow

Great news but please also include the Hawker Typhoon in  Bodenplatte!

Check this organisation out, as they are currently restoring a Hawker Typhoon for flight.  They need support, so please become a member.

Thanks ---- disappointing but thank you for sharing the detail.

I'd almost rather the coding/troubleshooting time be focused up front on the dserver efficiency improvements and plane viewing bubble distance before venturing into WWI, but that's my preference.

A little sad about the Pacific, but still excited about Flying Circus and Tank Crew! Finally having a demo for the game will be awesome too. I've been wanting for them to expand on the vehicle numbers since they released the first two.

Fantastic news! Po-2 and Li-2!! I'm barely holding my fudge here!! I'm also wondering whether Flying Circus will integrate with RoF or will we have to start from scratch again?

I would have loved to land this FM on a virtual carrier. Well, maybe (a lot) later.

Jason and his team must have had good reason to postpone this, and I will hope it won't be a cancellation.

That being said: The announcement of Flying circus (ROF2) is so fantastic, that I will smile for the next month to come.

Furthermore, the AI is being overhauled, and that is my main concern at this moment. So all is good.

I'm not into tanks, but I will preorder in due time to support this wonderful team.

A big thumbs up!!!

absolutely nonesense what you say here. DCS WW2 is really great and they need more time to release DCS 2.5

I can live with both Simulators. For me IL2 is more quick and dirty. DCS is more professional and will improve.

I know some people are dissapointed that the Pacific is postponed, but online air combat games work best when they simulate theatres in which combats were constant and daily and combatants were closely located, instead of a battle like Midway which was largely decided in 4 minutes by Dauntlesses that had been in the air for several hours before contact was made.  So I think it is a really good decision to go with Bodenplatte/late war tactical land-based air combat.

From Team Fusion, congratulations to 1C and Jason for their announcement... looks like Flight Simmers will have an exciting and interesting future!

As a World War I buff, I'll be very happy to get a chance to fly those canvas and string birds in FLYING CIRCUS.

Looking forwards to seeing the projects come to light.  :salute:

Allot of people mourning the delay of their beloved Pacific theater.

Sure I'd love to take off from a carrier and be flying over the beautiful azure blue and green sea. It'd be cool to scramble from a carrier and fight in a hell storm of flack and zeros.

But I can wait for that. I don't doubt that the Pacific shall come at some point. It's too big to miss out!

Personally, I'm really exited about The Battle of Bodenplatte. I first read the announcement during a lecture in class and found it very hard to contain my joy on reading this announcement.

Seeing the artwork goes to show just how close we are to matching the diverse flight sim that was IL-2 Sturmovik 1946.

The Li-2 should make for some fun mischief, especially considering what they got up to after sundown.

I'm also pretty hyped for the tanks. The initial introduction of tanks got me back into playing BoS and I'm sure that the new Clash at Prokhorovka will bring in a lot of new players who are just dying for a good quality tank game.

RoF planes?!?!? Now that's like the icing on the top. As if this game wasn't already leaving DCS and Warthunder in the dust it's gonna get 10 times better!

I'm really glad I've stuck with the IL-2 Sturmovik titles since first owning 1946. It makes me proud to see it become the magnificent game it is today.

Lastly... I don't suppose the Me-262 will pose too much of a threat... Right?

As always, amazing work from the devs. I'm hoping to play this sim for many years to come.

Or until the point where the game looks so good that I can't afford a PC to keep up with it. In the meantime I'm going to be counting down the days until it is mine!

They are fixing 109 since release and did not manage to accomplish that yet. 109 also has lower quality 3d model than other modules and yet they did address it.

ED is developing indeed, but so far fixing is not their strongest point.

Fricking awesome.
Already know a skin I want to do for the 109-K4 :-D.

As a RoF player, can it be better? Hell no!

Only stone in the shoe I see, is that the B-25 is ai only. But hopefully one day she will also be flyable.

And 262 :-D? Wow!!!!!

Edit: All Pre-ordered

yes you are right. I hope they will focus on 2.5. I cant imagine the pain of developing both versions at the same time. I have very respect to matt and devs.

@ developers,

is it possible to publish a release plan for each aircraft/feature of the upcoming Battle of Bodenplatte? (the title is still hilarious to me )
Right now I am gnawing my finger nails by thinking about flying a Me262. I want this bird so badly.

Very exciting news!

As to the naming discussion, if it has to contain "Battle" how about "Battle of the Low Countries"? I think "Operation Bodenplatte" is best, though.

I love the fact that RoF will be brought up to date. My first love from this team of programmers back when they were known as NeoQB. Rise of Flight in VR will be amazing! I know it will be a small initial map and plane-set but hope it will grow.

I hope the tank sim can bring in a lot of newcomers.

Going for this most popular plane-set is hopefully not a sign that the franchise was tanking. Anyway, the success should be guaranteed with these planes and with hard-hitting 1944-45 weaponry!

Off to preorder!
