Ju-52 and Yak-1b Collector Planes Now Available for Pre-Order!

Recommended Posts

Can't pre-order this month, as I already have run out of money, and next month it's time to get robbed by the damn dentist!
But will get it sooner or later.

I'm curious to see whether they will add VIP transport roles, and if so whether they will add the same ability to the Peshkas, that could be interesting.

Going to pre order both next Friday, but I have one question: Will the Ju-52 get bombs? As the Ju-52/3m g7e was capable of carrying upto 500kg of ordnance.

No

Did the Ju-52 not had a internal bomb bay for 6 x SC 250 Bombs? Like this?

Spain, yes, in small numbers.

It was used as an interim bomber variant before the start of WWII until purpose built machines like the Heinkel and Dornier came into service.

During the attack on Poland it may have been used (Warsaw comes to mind) but I think that was the only time in WWII it was used as a bomber.

I hope the dev's don't try to make it into the pre war bomber, or machine gun gondalas, it would serve no purpose

It also served during the beginning of Fall Gelb in the invasion of France althought it was retired quickly as bomber production was ramped up and enemy resisdence increased.

The Ju-52 served on all front threwout the war, so yes it does make sense to give it equipment from a different timeframe/theatre (more so than adding another 4 variants with minor differences).

Similar story with the Ju-87 G-1 we have right now.

I don't recall if it was explicitly stated or just implied but the DEV answer seems to be 'No' to arming the -52 other than what we have as an AI presently.

Lorenz blinding landing equipment... :)

I'd love to see the IL-4 ... and of course the G-6. The G-6 could shop up in a variety places though. Neither may end up being collectors planes either.

We'll have to wait and see on all of it :)

Il4 would be awesome!

G6 will probably be in some upcoming theatre, otherwise they would run out of german planes..

Makes me wonder though if they'll give the Soviets the Li-2, certainly would be nice to have in conjunction with the Ju-52.

The Russian Counterpiece to the Ju-52 is not the Li-2. The russians didn't rely on Air Transport nearly as much. The Po-2 is the Counter-Icon to the Il-2.

They are both Transports, and both used in the same role, so they are a counterpiece to one another. The Li-2 being faster and more modern.

So when will the next set of collector planes be available to pre-order? I feel we need more things to order so we can show more support :)

Give em a chance to finish the first two :)

I'm guessing a slow trickle of Collector Planes in addition to whatever theatre they are planning next. I'm guessing their artists and modellers will be quite busy if plans go ahead!

Listen to this man, he knows the important role this plane had, if Rommel could have the ju 52 he needed he might very well made it to Egypt, but of course he needed escort for them too.

We do not need it as a bomber, it is plain silly, with all the bombers Luftwaffe got, we need IL 4 or similar. And we need tools for our mission makers to make the JU 52 important, for both sides. Red need to shoot it down and blue to protect them

Would not mind it, but personally a level bomber would be more apreshiated, there where several even equipped with Diesel engines never mentioned here. There should be possible with using ju 52 on both sides with proper skin. As for now

Li-2VV was capable of carrying 2000kg of Bombs and developed in 1942. But I do agree, a proper Level Bomber for the Russian's would be nice, but I'd also like to see one Aircraft that the Soviet's used 2/3's of that were ever produced, the A-20 Havoc.

I believe those 4 Hardpoints were capable of carrying FAB-500 bombs

In conjunction to Ju-52, would be cool to have TB-3, that was mass produced in huge quantities, and during WW2 used mostly as transport aircraft, but also to deploy paratroopers, and do night bombings.

Huge, slow, corrugated as Ju-52, and open cockpit!

With TB-3 we could also have "Zveno" system, with dual I-16 under wings:

I enjoyed the campaign in old il2 with the Tb 3 but it is as the pe8 too many ai and too much of a oddity to add to red armory. For balance a more modern design is needed.

A-20, B-25 and IL-4 are the obvious choices.

Excuse me, everyone.

I have one question for you, and I am sorry if this is not on topic. Would the option to receive a Steam key for any of those pre-order aircraft be an option that I can reject? The reason I asked is because I already have a legitimate, non-Steam version of IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad, the version of which I got from the IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad website. If you can provide me with some advice, I would be grateful. Thank you.

The exact answer to this is uncertain but I'll speculate a little based on the existing licensing/exchange model.

  • The pre-order you purchase at il2sturmovik.com will be registered/linked to your existing account.
    • This "content linking" is standalone from Steam and is handled via your il2sturmovik.com account.
  • You will be able to exchange the key at a later date similarly to what was done with BOS and BOM.
    • You have to manually ask for a Steam key swap. Since this is an "opt in" you can't really opt out.

It's just an option. You can continue to use them with your non-Steam account without problems.

Just bought the two of these.

I had thought they were being sold as a bundle rather than individually. Hope the Ju52 does ok in sales, alot of the e-sports types aren't interested in roleplaying a delivery driver.
