I have a soft spot for the ugly and unloved. I'd like to adopt a U-2VS.  My contribution is the unremembered SE100. The French, unfortunately, were bumped out of aviation history once they were over run. They had lots of interesting experiments on going. Take a gander at this strange fighter. The pilot seat looks like a lawn chair.

I've always been a devotee of the Fort. So this always caught my imagination, and breath, you can almost hear the stacatto rattle of fifty cals, the metronomic, mechanical and impersonal thump of twenty millimetres, the whine of turbo superchargers overlaid with highly tuned precision teutonic engineering. And all at twenty five thousand feet, where the cold kills almost as swiftly as the lead and exploding shells. The thing that always stopped me was that these men were little more than boys, playing the most deadly of games, indeed driven to that tumult in the clouds. 

 

U2VS would be great, it's the last released plane I need to complete my collection.
