I am pretty sure you may even improve on your work and I, personally, hope this major IL-2 improvement will get quite some deserved recognition (BTW, does a.o. SHAMROCKONFIVE from the Stormbirds blog already know about this ?). There are *so many very talented* IL-2 contributers and, again IMHO, you sure belong up there with them ! Congrats KAI ! Thank you, I'm not a talented contributer something...not professional, just a ordinary people who loves IL-2 GB very much. by the way, I'm very enjoying @ShamrockOneFive's blog for a long time. 4 2
56RAF_Roblex Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 (edited) Very odd. I am seeing absolutely no difference. I took a picture before adding the new files to the P47 section and again after. Did I put them in the wrong place? Spit & Tempest also show no difference. I have not tried the others. Edited April 19, 2020 by 56RAF_Roblex
Atomic_Spaniel Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Do the subfolder names cause a problem? The game has, e.g., "Bf109G", your new download uses "bf109 G2", i.e., an extra space.

blue_max Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Just flew my first dogfight in an 109-G4. It's a lot easier to read the dials and labels now in VR. Well done! You're my hero! 1

It shouldn't since textures are loaded into vram, and today's GPUs have plenty of it, but if you increase the polygon count, that would cause a extra stress on the GPU. By the way, can you do something about that steel on the photo? It looks horrible on vanilla.
=gRiJ=Roman- Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I have made an experiment ... I have replaced the Bf109F2 files, replacing the originals with yours plus the common textures .... Mods off = it did not work Then, I used the mods on and it works! So, it seems that it will only work using the JSGME with Mods on. Unless, somebody finds a way to make it work with Mods off. 1

Could be that they are using some sort of checksum to validate the files with mods off

Nadelbaum Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Really really nice work Oyser_KAI, kudos! A small kind request that you would keep an updated timestamp in the first post whenever you update one of the sets. It would make tracking things much easier and avoid redundant re-download of everything. 3

So i put yours ? maybe a bad idea?? I've save my data/..../planes il2BOP and replace with yours, all seem great and work fine! Edited April 20, 2020 by beebee23 mistake

No1_Charlie Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 When I activate this mod and then try to install, for example the 'draw distance' mod, I get a warning message about the 'data' file being overwritten. I pressed ahead and then this mod gets greyed out - the same happens any way round that I attempt it. Any suggestions to stop this happening please?
rieper_420 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Hs-129 cockpit typo fixed version incoming: I informed Oyster_KAI about some typo / incorrect german in the Hs-129 cockpit (which has been bothering me for some time?? incorrect: Flugel bomben corrected: Flügel bomben incorrect: Machinekanone correct: Maschinenkanone (Especially the incorrect writing of "Maschinenkanone" was driving me nuts haha) See screenshot. sorry for the mediocre correction done with MS Paint by me Oyster_KAI told me he will upload an updated version soon Thanks again Oyster_KAI for your awesome textures, I am really impressed! What kind of magic are you using to upgrade the textures to 4k? 1 3
S10JlAbraxis Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 (edited) Fantastic upgrade! Thankyou so much for all your hard work! I think these are the best looking WW2 cockpits available in any sim now. I hope the dev team will make these part of a future update. I have now downloaded installed and tested all aircraft and they all look great - amazing work! Everyone should install this mod. Jade_Monkey Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Much needed and much appreciated!! Looking forward to trying the mod.
6./ZG26_Custard Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 @Oyster_KAI Thanks very much for all the hard work on this excellent project. I genuinely hope that there will be someway to incorporated these cockpits into the sim (hopefully with the developers assistance) without the need for mods on mode. I know I am going to find it extremely difficult not to use these new cockpit textures you have created going forward. 1
SJ_Butcher Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 now we are talking about, the cockpits looks really great

simfan2015 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 I guess (!) that the technique and work done by Oyster_KAI could (as suggested by other posters) also be used for the FC planes, U2-VS ... even TC and still with great improvements (???). Looking at the graphics of FC, TC (other than the instruments) textures etc. could, IMHO, further be optimized still. But maybe Oyster_KAI already did this and it proved not worth it at all ???? Anyway, I am still 100% taken be surprise this was done so quickly and with such amazing results, Thank you so much Oyster_KAI !
THERION Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Looks really great - good work. How about the performance hit, generally speaking? @Oyster_KAI
Oyster_KAI Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 @-=-THERION I can't feel any performance hit on my mid-class PC (i7 4790K, RTX2060, 24GB DDR3) Hs-129 B2 Updated!! First post Updated. Thanks for @rieper_420 's help.
