Some people just need good ol'whoopins to look past what's bothering them and enjoy their game. (The cloud thing, never bothered me, frankly I feel they look better now than they did before) Also I don't understand if something is already reported once, what the use in asking about something like that a second time. I work in IT and I deal with that all the time. Drives me nuts - I know first hand how annoying it can be. Probably not to a Dev Lead extent though! Haha

Just finished d/ling and did a quick start up.  Looks great thank you Team:biggrin:.  Leaving on vacation early in the Morning, but I should get a couple hours before then, returning on the 28th looking forward being able to fly on regular bases again.   Again thank you to the whole Team for a great WWII experience :salute:

Re. item 41, the DServer Configuration Dialog (see pg. 326 of the mission editor manual) was changed as follows:

 

New Options:
- Ban timeout
- Coop Quorum
- Game type (Cooperative, Dogfight)
- Lobby timer

 

Options that were moved from Advanced Settings Dialog (see pg. 331 of the mission editor manual) to the Configuration Dialog:
  - Allow MouseJoy
  - Coalition balancer
  - Friendly fire return
  - Finish mission if landed
  - Kill notification
  - Lock fuel loads
  - Lock payloads

  - Lock skins
  - Lock weapon mods

I assume that the options that were moved can now be used for all Presets (Expert, Normal, Custom), and not just Custom.

So like a clickable button ingame that can be connected to mission events and triggers? This would be excellent!

I'm very excited about the upcoming AC BoBp release. For Daniel ^^, the three AC we know are in progress are the Spit, 109 and the Thunderbolt. I'm going with the Spit as a pure guess.

 

Not sure why the clouds "issue" is coming back into vogue with people who have been around for a while. There should be no mystery there as to the fact it is a third party developer and little can be done with/to them. 

 

 

Well the confusing thing for me is clouds are basically 'fixed' if using coconuts mod (not perfect but as good or better as before the update).

They were also 'fixed' before the update was released, again perfectly acceptable.

They are also fixed if you play with high graphics/cloud settings. 

 

So I'm kind of confused as to why there cannot be an official fix to make clouds up to at least the standards of the mod, before the update, or when using high graphic settings.

 

Many people are upset because with VR on, and playing on anything other than high or ultra graphics (major performance drop) the clouds honestly are atrocious in a way they never were before the update. You can only use the mod (no MP) or play on high graphics.

 

Btw way I don't give a damn about the planes looking funky/jaggy when they are in front of clouds, and accept the limitations and that they cannot be perfect. But if a mod is able to fix them, why not an official fix?

I play clouds on High and I do not see planes disappearing in front of clouds.  Even at Medium you will see aliased jaggies more so but the planes are still there.  Low sucks but at this point in time it is a limitation that I am sure will be worked on down the track.

 

I see more that people bitch about things that are not immersion breakers or maybe they are trying to run a demanding piece of software on systems that are 5+ years old.  Get over it.  Simming requires decent computer capabilities and if you are not abvle to provide then deal with the results.  I mean this is not FS 1990 for heavens sake..

 

Flew my first update mission over Kuban and although frames were in the mid 60's, the view was smooth with Hud on and I have a upper mid range rig to fly on.  My squad mates should be shot for lack of decent performance though LOL.  I will now go and take them out back of the pilots mess and deal with them.:ph34r:

Lets argue clouds, cloud mods and rig specs (again) in a separate thread. It has already been addressed by Jason here and further discussion, while fine, is not appropriate in this thread.

In that update, the cloud rendering distance has been increased several times.

Regarding the clouds. When I joined the il 2 BoX experience it was a Beta. OK for a beta it is normal that a lot of things are not polished. But still in 2018 the clouds are not addressed. They look awful. When I look them every time I am scared not to receive Epileptic seizure.
Regarding a flight sim immersion the clouds are as much important as the maps.
I think the dev team has strange priorities they make bug fixes and changes that nobody cares about, like this time the load screen, no use whatsoever. I prefer the way it was. Right now, when I change the settings and the menu  asks me if I want to restart when I press yes the game crashes.

Thanks. What I noticed with the new patch, campaign, difficulty moderate, in a defend ferry crossing mission, was that with the new patch I have 6 planes chasing me, this has never happened in version 3.001 and also some versions before. Ganging up on the player was an issue until january iirc. Now it seems to reoccur again. Please check if there was an older piece of AI software activated again.

You have no clue what our priorities are. If you don't like what we are doing don't play the game. We have 10 years of addressing all sorts of "priorities" of the community. Start your own company and do it yourself if you know better. So God damn tired of posts like this.

(Unrelated) I just had a quick flight in VR on Kuban over a large city at low altitude. FPS was pegged at 90. A few stutters here and there, but still very impressive, and a big improvement over earlier versions. Nice job!

Yeah this one! Honestly just try it in VR with balanced or low graphics settings and then compare it to how things are on balanced/low without the mod. I'm not meaning to bitch, and only want what is best for the game, but the fact theres an unoffical fix already out does seem to suggest it's possible. Trouble is now I have to use a mod that cannot be used in MP.

You guys are making an amazing job with this game, after career and all of the other stuff has been added to the game i quit DCS for playing just IL2 Sturmovik series :)

Still its not possible to display subtitles for radio chatter even with Hud on default. What Im doing wrong?

I only see mission objectives and time acceleration.

Help me someone pls

The issues related to WMR are related to Steam VR at the moment, it isn't nothing related to the game itself, i see lot of these posts even on other game's forums, you WMR guys must keep in mind that WMR support in Steam VR it's still in beta

Why do you say its steamvr related? this is literally the only game which ive had issues with.

I can see it in QMB but not in the career
