Want to just bring forward two suggestions/features i have. Radio brevity chat commands that would work something like the srs script for combat box. One command could tell your airplane type and position/heading and target to the team if you want escort and etc etc. The third suggestion is to have one flack vehicle spawn like 8-10 kilometers away from the front but that flack vehicle have unlimited ammo. It is hard to aim already with those trucks and this would make it so that when ai flack are killed at front attackers like myself still have to deal with the fact that someone might provide the flack protection for the targets themself.

Hi guys

Probably silly questions or i'm missing something obvious here but i was attacking BF110G and later i looked at sortie log and spotted this

It seems i have killed gunner but he was still shooting?

I was thinking it's just a second of a difference so maybe bullets still in air etc. but

Am i wrong here thinking there's only one rear gunner on 110?

Always so much wind and turbulence at low altitude in this server, I'm strugling to place my SC50 bombs with precision, revi and aircraft going sideward just before dropping.

currently when the players tank is even slightly damaged (no yellow signs on any of the modules) and You end the mission its counted as destroyed, even if You get back to spawn point. (like my yesterdays mission where i got 1 non penetrating hit and got back to the tank spawn and there ended the mission).

 

could this be changed?

Already stated (it was my case yesterday evening) and can be solved ONLY by Devs of IL-2 GREAT BATTLES SERIE !!! 😢

 

It is frustrating to fight well, to get hit by very few hits (1.4%) to have nothing to repair, return to spawn and loose 20% of points....

I think they have 2 behind the pilot, I've run into that my self, along with our squad flamed both engines in a 110 only to have it keep fighting. One mean ass bird.

So here's a bit of a dilemma....   On any other server where chute killing was allowed, I'd say "I don't do it - unless you're vulching."  On this server chute killing is not allowed.  There is, however, a pilot who shoots chutes - especially near their team's home airfields.  They also have a fast growing reputation for being a DICK.

 

I'd almost ask who I owe child support to (and why I was never told) but, in all seriousness, how should I go about dealing with this?  Leave it or PM the admin?

Just to be clear about the chute killings:
- We're not interested in penalizing accidental kills. So if a pilot jumps out while the plane is being shot at, and the pilot gets a hail of bullets in the process, we don't view this as deliberate chute killing.

- If on the other hand someone bails out, and is hanging in the chute, and then someone decides it's a good idea to shoot him, this is the dickish behaviour we don't want to see on our server. And this you should report to us, and always privately (we don't want flame wars either). Use email, forum PM, Discord PM etc.

 

Give us all the details you have. Sortie link (or timestamp with timezone if the mission is still running), tracks and video.

Heliopause

On Finnish LD server I flew Ju 52  to open Krymskaya Temp just now. Landed succesfully. Temp did not open.

Just with the Ju52 you have to unload the cargo (pressing the "drop bomb" key)

Flew it from where?

 

Quick how to:

- To open (and supply) a temporary airfield you must take a plane named "supply" from the supply airstart. Fly the supply plane to the temporary airfield, land and finish flight. That's it. Same process can be used to supply any airfield that is running out of planes.

- To drop paratroopers to the frontlines, take a plane called "axisparas" / "alliedparas" from the rear airfields, fly over the colored smoke and drop the paratroopers safely to the ground near the smoke.

 

Paratrooper plane CANNOT be used to supply airfields. Supply plane CANNOT be used to drop paratroopers. Know the difference :)

I selected supply (airstart) and picked the Ju 52. Flew to the  temp. airfield. Landed. Ended flight.

Temp stayed closed.

I selected "cargo" for some reason.  Maybe that is why it didn't work

I think you did it right but the server is not really running properly since yesterday.  The same map/mission has been up way passed it's stop time.  It's been up for 20 hours or so.

This happens from time to time when trying to join. Delete the contents of "<game_folder>\data\Multiplayer\moscowwb" -folder and try again.

today i've suffered several kick out in the server, some of them after 15 or 20 minutes in a resupply fight with a bomber, or JU-52 transport.
My squadmates and me, have usually BAD ping in this server.
We have lower ping in Combat Box server who i think is hosted in North America. Why european virtual pilots have worst ping in your Finnish server? ... It is Finland more far from Spain, than USA??
Please  Can anybody ask to admin if he can shut off the porno download when server is running? :biggrin:

Looking at: https://il2.flying-barans.ru/ ... most players seem to have pings around 30-40ms. But we're talking about the Internet, and connection quality over great distances can vary greatly over time. Even if your connection is good, and server connection is good, the networks between them can throw curve balls...

i've checked my ping to your server ( in Helsinki? ) from my PC in Madrid, with the result of a lot of packets lost.
same result for traceroute comand, with similar  result; your server don´t answer in time.
any help?

By the way i´ve checked my ping in il2-flying-barans.ru with the result of 42ms ... It is a reason for kicked a pilot from the server  or you have other failures??

The server is located in Liminka, Finland. The ICMP ports are closed, so the server doesn't answer to ping.

The current ping limit is 250ms, and you have to have over 250ms for over 10s (or was it 20s...) to get kicked. So a sudden spike in lag doesn't get you kicked by our campaign app (which controls the DServer software). The DServer max ping setting is disabled because it doesn't care for how long you have that ping -> a momentary spike in ping got you disconnected, and those momentary spikes happen to everyone.

 

Most kicks or dropped connections won't happen because of high ping, but momentary packet loss, to which the game became very allergic to after a patch about a year ago. When packet loss happens, you see a chat/server message saying something like "No coordinate update from player X", and then a couple of seconds later the player gets disconnected. This is a game feature which we have no power over.

You assume that it's in our end, while thousands of players play without a hitch. You might have to consider that it might be somewhere else?

Unfortunately, after the latest patch, everything seems to have gotten somewhat heavier for the server, which has resulted in more lag etc. For example, if someone fires at ground targets nearby, everyone nearby gets awful warping. Already crashed once because of this while firing at a ground target 😕 .. This same patch may have aggravated the invisible plane issue, due to making the mission heavier overall. We may have to reduce the number of mission objects...

Yesterday we noticed that we had a lot of small explosions of atrezzo, surroundings a temporary airfield, a these explosions caused a lot of stuttering and lag when several of teamates engage in combat whit enemy fighters arround the airfield.
Is possible remove thats atrezzo explosions??

Because I got killed by an invisible plane.

I know, sometimes, when we play together with my mates and I see none at the airfield, I have to rejoin. But today I played alone and I not noticed this bugg, and I lost my stats, becuase I didn't saw any plane behind me because of this "bug". :(

Its a very good "bug", I cannot see nobody, but they can see me. :(

Yes ;) ... It's a game bug, that manifests itself on our server more than it does on others (or so I have been told). We don't know the cause (we have only theories), otherwise we would have already fixed it. But every time it happens (when you KNOW that it happens), before finishing your flight and reconnecting, please take a short in-game recording (Ctrl+R by default) and send it to the devs as a bug report. This is the only way the devs can get to fixing it.
