German side : 45 Players.....Soviet side : 17 players... :( ...really bad that there are not more pilots for the red side...very hard to understand, and very detrimental to the interest of the online campaign... :huh:

 

This is total rubbish....... Just Google 'Local Air Superiority', this is what you aim to achieve when flying out numbered.

Attack in force (17 together, if that is what you have) targets that are not heavily defended, and do not engage the enemy unless you have the advantage...... its just common sense, "If you fly on your own, you die on your own!!"

 

"The VVS still won the last campaign"...

 

personally, it does not matter to me to win the campaign ... but I wish I could survive more than three missions ... when the last pilots who are still flying red will be like me tired of the situation, I believe that our apprentices "experten" will have to settle for a campaign without enemy aircraft ... not very fun I think ... :dry: ...whatever the game,it is always good to respect his opponent ... but above all, it is very important to have one ... opponent...

 

And if you can't survive more than 3 missions, you're doing something wrong. Just refer to my comment above.

Is a Disco - 200, but not a Disco in the Statistic, there are standing IN FLIGHT.

In the last rounds are not this problems... Very bad... Have fun...

Miji, was the airfield contested? If so the issue is a bug that has previously been identified and is being worked on last I heard.

After mission (#33) reload this bug will be fixed.

 

 

Didn't read, if its a bug, enough explanation for me, Thanks for info.

 

But can't repair AF bombed is not fair at all, when Germans con close it, whit her H bombs ......

If you would read manual changelog maybe you would know this : Disconnection – if plane was damaged and there was disconnection before 5min from last damage then it’s count as before as DISCO. If disconnection was after 5min then it’s not counted as DISCO but plane is lost. Which means "IN FLIGHT"

We do not judge if someone had PC crash or internet connection problem or just someone run away because of loosing fight. Disco i is disco and we think its fair enough.

 

BTW I suggest you guys to join TAW discord. Its easy to find news about some stupid bugs and other news in specific threads like "technical issues" or "news" and here at forum you can miss some important news like this at page 123 about JU52.

something change with the ground kill system half way through this round?

 

pretty sure i was getting 10-15 kills per sortie on defence targets first couple days and now only vehicles are counting towards GK

Is there any intel info regarding the targets layout of each AF and rear area depots in towns? I mean some site with pictures like e.g. the Finnish server use, see following link:

sometimes there will be a depot near an airbase but the list will only reference the airbase - click on the airbase name and when you get to the pic of the airbase, scroll down - the depot pic will be there.

I think that the real problem for the reds on this campaign is that most of the red squads are not using the TAW TeamSpeak.

Most of the player are probably lone wolfs. But when you see in TeamSpeak that there is an organized squad it gives you confidence. And you have to option to escort or join the bombing even without speaking to them.

My suggestion is for red squads to try and use the TAW teamspeak and not their own teamspeak/discord. They will have a larger impact that way.

Hi, Just got purposely team killed while flying a pe-2 by an il-2, wondering if this guy can be banned or punished in some way as it was clearly on purpose.

Had just completed a mission and landed back at the airfield just after he took off, I taxied off the runway and was shutting down when he came back around strafed me and then flew into my aircraft killing me. I have the track if it is needed for proof.

 

Time stamp on the stats page was 04.09.2017 09:08:24.

 

His name is MADOV

how is bail out handled over forest? died both times i parachuted into trees.....sucked big time, was so happy to survive veteranAAA in one mission and 3:1 ambush in an another flight only to die with my chute collapsing in the trees..

I just wanted to ask about team colours.

The TAW website shows Blue Axis and Red Allies. (makes sense)

 

However the in game TAW map forces Blue Friends and Red Enemies and ignores player setting choice.

 

Any chance of standardising it? (or enabling full player choice).

Small change with points. -200 pts for disco only in first 5 min after this time disco result as IN FLIGHT and no minus points

When I change my Blue/Red settings in game it changes SOME things.

 

It changes my airfields and text colours.

 

It doesn't change the map elements I think are drawn by TAW (tanks, defensive lines etc) these seem to be set by the server (they are always blue friend, red enemy).

 

This also happens on other servers.

We use the "defend" icons for the Axis side and "attack" icons on the Allies side on our server. This results in the Axis locations to be marked with blue and Allies locations with red icons no matter which side you chose. I personally also have the "USSR Red" option set on my game client.

I've also noticed this, since about saturday and onward. No kills awarded either in game or on the site for structures, only vehicles. Dropping ~ 2 tons of explosives into fresh objectives and walking home with 2 trucks destroyed isn't the most rewarding experience. Is it a bug or an intended change?

I'm new to TAW. Guys, by your experience, will the player numbers adjust and change during the course of the weeks? Today it's again up to 40 Germans against 10 Russians. How is that something to enjoy..? What mechanisms do the Admins have ready to balance the field, will Russians get better aircraft while Germans keep the old versions?

I think it will get better as the Russians get better aircraft. There are several factors involved in this problem and I think it has been extensively discussed in other threads (I don't recall which one) but switching sides from one campaign to another without letting other people know seems to be a big one I think. Let's say the campaign has 20 squadrons:

- 10 are the so called "JG/ZG/KG/StG" squadrons that fly only for the Luftwaffe;

- 5 VVS-only squadrons;

- and 5 non-faction based squadrons.

 

The faction associated squadrons are predictable and you know they will be flying only for that particular side no-matter what but the non-faction associated ones are not. So if they all decide to play blue in a particular campaign, the balance goes down the drain (15 x 5 squadrons, in this example). This doesn't mean they are wrong in doing it so of course, every one has the right to fly what they wish and not feel obligated to fly for a side they don't want to for the sake of others but this kind of thing will happen if the side switch is not something coordinated with other squadrons.

The problem with that logic is the match up between the planes, right now, is as good as it gets for most Soviet planes. The match up of I-16 and 109 E-7 is beautiful, in terms of speed, maneuverability, climb and dive rates these planes are basically toe to toe with one another; the only real disparity is in firepower as the I-16 is not allowed 20 mm guns by the rule set in map one. This one shortcoming can be said to be balanced by the relative frailty of the 109 air frame though. As things move forward the speed gap and the dive/climb rate gap open quickly to the point where German fighters won't have to fight us if they don't want to. The short of it is, in terms of fighters, now is the best time for Soviet players. In the bomber department Germany always wins with it's superior ordinance loading and with the German insistence on hitting our supply lines with these big bombs, or lots of little ones as the case may be, our attackers are stripped of our most capable tank busting weapons.

 

Seeing as the German team is, by all appearances, going to maintain a numbers advantage and there is seemingly nothing that will ever stop this (we all know they won't helps us out any there), it is incumbent on us, the Soviet team, to work together better. So if you see someone asking for coordination of effort, do it. I don't care if these people are on TS with you. Frankly you don't really need to be on TS with everyone on the team in order to fly to the same area and kill things. It won't be easy but this is the only hope we have of winning. There are too few of us on the server at any one time to not work together, not against the numbers we have arrayed against us.

Hello and thanks for a great experience.

 

I have only recently started to fly online and am slowly getting my bearings :)

 

So tonight I made one of my best flights so far, took off in an I-16 and patrolled with a few others for a while, then when flying with another I-16, A 109E Jabo passed underneath and I had a very easy kill.

 

After some more patrolling, I landed, running out of fuel on the roll out :) For me it was a lot of fun.

 

However, in the briefing, while the easy kill was registered, it said "flight cancelled 0 points".

 

How & why was the flight cancelled? I looked in the manual and rules but don't understand what I have done wrong.

Nothing has been changed from start of this campaign. Do you have track or link to the sortie?

Thanks Temuri this is the solution, but still there is a bug in game because if you change "Friendly - blue" and play by USSR then your airfields will be blue but other icons red. So "USSR Red" option must be set.

I also noticed a GK "discrepancy" from the sortie to the stats.  I only have one mission so far.  When flying, the game said I had 4 GKs.  After the map ended I went to the stats and it said 12 GKs.  The detail however shows only the 4 GKs.  Thought I would bring it to your attention.

Well, I picked German when I registered on www.taw-server.de... it made me Soviet. Not really that big of a deal. The main problem is no matter what plane I pick on either side I get denied by the server and kicked..."not allowed to fly..." REALLY???

Again and again...

Hmm... Let me guess. You didn't read manual and rules, did you?

Just out of interest....would anyone ever consider making the online campaign like a 'RL' version? Ie. where you sign up for a side, choose your pref (fighters/bombers) and would be allocated to a Squadron for that campaign (with the ability to request a transfer after x number of missions)? That way you could choose fighters and be allocated either to interceptors or Jabo/fighterbombers (incl the BF110), or for bombers be allocated to attack a/c (IL2, JU87, HS129) or bombers (PE-2, HE-111, JU88). You pretty much fly that a/c exclusively.
