No.23_Triggers Posted May 2, 2022 Author Posted May 2, 2022 Please join me in congratulating the following pilots, who all distinguished themselves during the recently-concluded Bloody April Kaiserschlacht campaign! LEVEL ONE AWARDS:Victoria Cross.“For most conspicuous bravery and extreme devotion to duty in the prescence of the enemy” @1PL-Lucas-1Esk: In recognition and admiration of his many years as Entente "Red Team" Commander in Rise of Flight and Flying Circus, in addition to his continued contributions in mission planning and contributing in order to bring victory to the team. LEVEL TWO AWARDS:Distinguished Service Order.“For exemplary acts of extreme skill and devotion while in a position of leadership” @Zatch, @Gardimus, @Apache27, @=IRFC=Artun: For attacking and destroying a critical enemy target on the Arras front on April 11th. The target in question posed a significant threat to allied aircraft attempting to perform a crucial mission, and was attacked at great personal risk to the pilots mentioned. Despite this, they skilfully coordinated their attack, destroying the target without loss, and thereby allowing the team to complete the critical mission. @[F.Circus]Gorn_Captain: For his actions in coordinating and leading several flights in a large-scale raid on multiple crucial enemy targets on April 30th, resulting in the team claiming a decisive logistical advantage over the enemy. This action is largely accredited to the team's overwhelming success on this day. LEVEL THREE AWARDS: Air Force Cross.“For gallantry while not in the prescence of the Enemy” @gascan, @kotori87, @US_McConnell: For selflessly sacrificing their own flying time on individual campaign days in order to assume the role of Headquarters and relay crucial information and orders to Flight Leaders while assessing the overall battle, thereby playing an instrumental role in the team achieving victory. Distinguished Flying Cross.“For exemplary acts of gallantry during active operations against the enemy in the air” @1PL-Sahaj-1Esk: For destroying a total of 6 enemy aircraft in rapid succession while defending a crossroads from enemy formations, in addition to intercepting and destroying a Halberstadt CL.II that was attempting to bomb a highly important allied frontline aerodrome, saving it from certain destruction, on April 11th. @76SQN-Wellington: For demonstrating exceptional skill by singlehandedly engaging and destroying no less than 12 enemy aircraft on April 11th. @[F.Circus]Gorn_Captain, @[F.Circus]sith1144: On April 2nd, while flying Sopwith Dolphins, Gorn led his flight against a numerically superior attacking force of two Halberstadt CL.IIs escorted by Five Fokker Dr.Is that were attempting to raid a highly important frontline aerodrome. Despite these odds, Gorn and Sith were able to destroy both CL.IIs before being overwhelmed, thus preventing the destruction of the aerodrome. @Gardimus: On April 30th, Gardimus was assigned to complete a Contact Patrol. Upon his own volition he completed a second Contact Patrol, greatly contributing to the team's success. Not satisfied with only this, however, Gardimus - still in the Contact Patrol aircraft - proceeded to attack and destroy no less than five enemy aircraft. Military Cross.“For exemplary acts of gallantry during active operations against the enemy on the ground” @chrispcritter, @klaytonz: For launching and successfully completing a crucial and daring surprise raid on a major enemy ground target, greatly contributing to the team's overall strategic victory on April 11th. @1PL-KJ-1Esk, @Apache27: For displaying great initiative in both repelling an enemy ground push and destroying a bugged allied train in order to remedy the bug on April 2nd. Military Medal.“For exemplary acts of gallantry during active operations against the enemy on the ground by Non-Commissioned Pilots” @SignorMagnifico, @NO.20_JordanPuma: For launching and successfully completing a crucial and daring surprise raid on a major enemy ground target, greatly contributing to the team's overall strategic victory on April 11th. Distinguished Service Cross[GBR]“For exemplary acts of gallantry during active operations against the enemy on the ground by Non-Commissioned Pilots” @RNAS10_Oliver: On April 30th, Oliver put up a heroic lone defence of the advancing Allied ground forces, repeatedly engaging and repelling numerically superior flights of enemy machines singlehandedly. Although eventually brought down while fighting three enemy machines, he was able to delay and repel the enemy for long enough for a flight of allied machines to arrive, thus successfully defending the advancing ground troops that otherwise certainly would have been destroyed. Médaille Militaire.“For acts of extreme skill and gallantry while facing the enemy” @1PL-Sahaj-1Esk: For displaying exceptional skill on April 30th, by destroying no less than four enemy Fokker D.VIIs within a single engagement then immediately afterward using his last remaining ammunition to shoot down a Halberstadt CL.II in flames. Distinguished Service Cross[U.S.A]“For acts of heroism or extraordinary achievement when in combat” @US103_Biddle: On April 2nd, Biddle first raided two enemy forward aerodromes with his flight, rendering both inoperable, before sighting and attacking a flight of three Pfalz D.IIIas, still in complete darkness. Skilfully he drove two of the enemy machines down before turning his attention to the aerodrome they had taken off from, repeatedly strafing its Fuel / Repair truck until his fuel ran out, thereby greatly contributing to its destruction by his flight. @US103_Tobin: On April 30th, Tobin demonstrated exceptional skill, first engaging and destroying five enemy aircraft (and assisting in the destruction of four others) in numerous engagements while flying a defensive patrol, then later raiding an enemy aerodrome of his own volition, destroying an AA emplacement and an enemy aircraft on the ground before assisting in the destruction of a second enemy aircraft in the air before returning to land and resupply his fuel and ammo. LEVEL FOUR AWARDS: Croix de Guerre“For acts of great skill while facing the enemy” @SignorMagnifico: For the destruction of 7 ground targets and an enemy aircraft during actions on April 2nd.@Gardimus: For the destruction of 5 enemy vehicles in rapid succession on April 2nd. @Zatch: For the destruction of 5 enemy vehicles and 2 enemy aircraft during actions on April 2nd. @1PL-Lucas-1Esk: For proceeding with and completing an aerodrome raid despite losing 50% of his flight to take-off accidents on April 2nd. @gascan: For completing a crucial and difficult mission within enemy lines, as well as discovering the location of several important strategic targets on April 2nd. @NO.20_JordanPuma: For engaging two Gotha bombers while flying alone and successfully destroying one on April 2nd. @US103_Tobin: For engaging and destroying Gotha bomber with only his Lewis Gun while flying alone, deep in enemy territory and at night.@[F.Circus]Gorn_Captain: On April 30th, Gorn_Captain took it upon himself to assist another flight in raiding an enemy aerodrome. During the raid, the flight he had attached himself to came under attack by two enemy scouts. Despite flying a D.H.4, he immediately turned to face the enemy aircraft, shooting down a Fokker D.VII before returning to base to rejoin his own flight. @1PL-Modzel-2Esk: For various actions on April 2nd, 11th and 24th, in which he destroyed several enemy aircraft and ground targets, directly contributing to halting enemy advances on the ground, without suffering any injuries to himself or his aircraft. Congratulations to all the above pilots, and apologies if I've missed anybody out (it's a long list, ha!) 4
