The application starts as desired and I can configure campaign and settings. Bith are saved into the USer dir for PWC. However no mission becomes generated in to \data\Missions ; awhile E:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\ is the root. The test campaign was a singleplayer and becomes generated as files within the PWC dir. I am using oracles last free build in Version 8 upd 281 (not the most youngest...admitted) Any hints where to check further more to get a mission genereated?

The missions go to data\missions\PWCG When you open the game press missions, then go to the PWCG folder. The missions will be there.
Picchio Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Pat, more often than not, in my missions huge cities are entirely missing even if the objective is located right in them (Lille in my case, for Flying Circus). That's with the latest version but I had this issue before... it would seem to be more frequent in case of long-distance missions but I am not sure. All density options are set to High with no other custom values elsewhere. Is there a way to brutally force PWCG to load up the entire map's structures?

greybeard_52 Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 There is a problem with ground attack missions with fighter-bombers: instead of reaching the target, they always drop the bombs on the first bridge that they find as soon as they reach the enemy territory. Then they head towards the target, where they begin to wander aimlessly (among other things, getting hit by anti-aircraft). Of course I'm talking about AI (I always queue to my flight) and the latest version of the PWCG (13.1.0). It's a shame, because this behavior of the AI ruins all missions of this type, for which the generator has a real obsession (even the MC.202 does nothing but bomb! Which doesn't seem historically correct to me). I've been looking for a way in the PWCG configuration to eliminate these ground attack missions (which I also don't like), but I can't find it. Please do something Pat!

Back to AI - I am not seeing what you are seeing. In my experience the AI does not drop before reaching the target. They are flying medium priority waypoints so they should not. I fly ground attacks frequently and have not seen this. If you do please post the mission and eng files. When the AI does reach the target area they will drop bombs. 30 seconds after two have dropped their bombs a timer is triggered. The other AI elements now have 30 seconds to drop. If the timer goes off the remaining AI will jettison and the flight will begin to fly home. I have also tested this and verified that it works - also seen it work in the missions that I fly for fun. The AI definitely has a thing for AAA and bridges. At the moment I leave the decision on what to attack to the AI, and AAA and bridges always seem to be the most popular choices. However, they do get to the target zone, they do drop, and they do reform and go home. Like I said, please post the mission file. One thing to note is that the target zone is triggered by proximity and does not require that all of the waypoints are hit. The target zone is usually about 10 km in diameter, where the trigger zone has a 20km diameter. As soon as the flight gets close (10 or 12 km) the target zone will trigger and then the AI is on its own.

This story of changing the file extension is like cutting your head off to go under too low an arch! And then, HOW to change the extension? Editing the file in the DOS window? But is it no longer fair to correct the error in the management of the forum? I was wrong again to try to make a positive contribution to the game, the bug I reported, Pat tells me that it doesn't exist, and in any case I didn't know anything about the files I attached ... But I managed to attract the beware of a couple of troublemakers! I had already deleted bookmark of this forum, I hope not to fall for it again in the future! 1

I was trying to help you by giving you some info that a file extension of 7z and 7zip is basically the same thing in the end. I must have worded my comment very badly to bring this reaction so my apologies. At the risk of repeating my error you rename the file by right clicking on it in windows explorer and taking the rename option..........I guess you could even nominate the 7zip file extension when you create the archive. They circled around there in an endless loop and keep crashing on the ground. They were not attacking and I also did not see any ground targets. I returned to my airbase and they and including the escort keep circling at the target area. Tried Me262 carrier today. Had mission "Free hunt for transportation assets in the area" as wingman of my attacker squad. AI dropped bombs somewhere, as intended, but then also keep circling at the target area while not attacking and getting stomped by aa. 2. Is there something I do not understand about indicated cruising speed? In general ai seems to fly way slower than indicated by waypoints. It is a bummer if 262 fly 450km/h instead of reasonable 550km/h. 3. Me262 payload options are limited to: remove inner guns, rockets, and 1x500kg bombs. It also says 500kg bombs, but ingame it is 250kg. I can change that for my playerplane of course, but not for the ai. Sorry for my English and thanks for your much appreciated effort. Issue 1 is AI, at least the crashing part. That is pretty odd. I have seen lots of fighters lawn dart but not bombers or attackers. About the circling part: The flight is supposed to drop and head for home after they have dropped. I just flew a mission where this worked properly. They will circle or do whatever the AI thinks is right if the "bingo ordnance" event has not happened. Issue 2 is also AI. I can ask the AI to fly at a certain speed, but the AI has to take my requests and process them with all of the other information. Issue 3 I will look into. Correct payloads are PWCG's responsibility.

PatrickAWlson Posted September 24, 2021 Author Posted September 24, 2021 PWCG is built to Java 8 compliance. I am using Oracle 8 in my IDE but my machines default is Java 11. I am not using OpenJDK at the moment, but a google search for incompatibilities came up empty. JDK 11 works fine with PWCG as long as it is 64 bit. Never had any feedback on OpenJDK one way or the other until now. If you run PWCG from the command line, what does it say?

We're flying Sopwith Camels in a campaign and I've put a 60% load in the generator a few times now, but in the plane config in game, it's always at 100%.

I'd like to take a week or so of leave after every mission to advance time/the front a bit quicker but it only seems to let me take a day or so at a time, sometimes not advancing time at all until I fly a mission. Not sure if thats a bug or an intended feature

You have to enter the time in days and the calendar will advance, so When you take leave PWCG will still calculate activity for the period. If you take very long leaves (months) it may take a minute or so. Once that is done you are put through the AAR flow so you can see what happened during your leave. If this is not happening then something else is up.

Starting June 10th, taking 10 days of leave and after hitting accept, seeing a debriefing page with one cut off at the bottom, and then ending up at the 11th.

Here you go, Its my test campaign and I went ahead and took several leaves of 10 days in a row (trying not to skip too much time in the actual campaign), hopefully that gave you more data to work with. One of them actually worked right, going from the 14th to the 24th. It is my test campaign, so I tend to generate and run missions without doing combat reports, so if theres any weird/a lack of mission reports that might be why. the issue occurs in all my campaigns though, coop and singleplayer gunkata_test202110052210986.zip

Please do something Pat! Hi Pat! on 13.3.0 I'm seeing the same thing, I'm flying FW 190's on the Kuban map and every Jabo/Attack "raid" missions seems bugged. I've played a few missions in a row and it seems like my flight lead always drops on the first target he see's past the front line, even if the true target is still many kilometers away. The whole squadron will drop on a single bridge, or aaa gun, etc. To be more clear the missions will go like this: Mission: Raid/Attack enemy airfield/rail yard/Transport facilities 30 KM away, 1. We take off and fly 5 Km to front line 2. As soon as we cross the front line the AI leader just attacks the first enemy asset it see's. i.e a bridge, aaa gun, boat. 3. The AI Leader then flies without ordinance the rest of the 25 KM to the enemy airfield (Real Target) and treats it just like a way point. Flies right over getting everyone chewed up with AA without attacking and then fly's home. I thought it might of just been one bugged mission but it seems that every single one has followed the same routine (4 missions now), our flight never makes it to the target with ordinance as the bombs are always wasted on some small enemy far from the target area. I’m on 13.3.0 as well Have not had a chance to look at this yet but it's on the to do list. These can be painful because it is PWCG trying to influence what the game is doing. The AI dropping on a bridge near the target area is not entirely unexpected because PWCG does not try to give the AI a specific target, just a target area. Other reports of the AI stopping on bridges far away from the target area are more of a mystery. I know that I enabled entities on some bridges to make them show up in the logs. I also know that the AI loves killing bridges and AA guns. Still, it would be odd for the AI to break off of a medium priority WP to kill a bridge.
