Just one thing though, I'm not complaining but 700kmh (434 mph) at 7000m (22,965 ft) sounds a bit fast for the D-28. D-28 top speed was 443 mph but that was at 29,000ft, it didn't hit 430+ mph until around 25,000ft. 434 at 23k sounds closer to a razorback or a P-47 with a hamilton standard prop. If we are getting a hamilton standard it all makes sense, but not if it's a curtis electric. Not complaining, just curious. PS: its curtiss "paddle blade" prop on D-28. 2 7

I know, but even then a curtis paddle blade is slower than a hamilton. What were the engine settings in that report? Those speeds make sense with 70" but not at 64" Based off that report you showed, that P-47 was using 70".
JG4_Nemesis Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Why does the K-4 only reach 715 km/h instead of 728km/h (452mph)?

InProgress Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 My favorite part is better damage for vehicles. It was really annoying for me to watch them explode all the time. I hope no more explosion and you will be able to get bunch of kills where tanks or trucks just smoke or burn or simply get immobilized. No more explosion all the time. Hope it will works with AT guns or any other stationary targets. Getting explosions full of fire from shooting at aaa was silly. 2 4

spudkopf Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Excellent...... Just wondering will the new RAF pilot only appear on the western map(s), or will it be tied to the Spit IXe and the Tempest V? As to me the Ruskie chap just looks out of place sitting in the late Spitty.
blockheadgreen_ Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 I unfortunately know exactly what this is going to incite, but since the K-4 is receiving (operationally unused, I believe, i may be wrong) 1.98ata...any chance of the Spit getting +25lbs? 1

[CPT]Pike*HarryM Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Whoever is doing the pilot models is doing an amazing job, IMHO. 6

Rjel Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 The PTO (hint for the future?) P-47 skin looks great as does the other one. So does the RAF pilot. This is all looking so impressive.

CountZero Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 (edited) great dd, nice work on 47 looks great, nice to see k4 will be a beast hope thouse fixes for mulltiplayer show in practice, and thouse aditional stuff for ground units dont add aditional strain. kill messages already work like that in vall stats, so glad they will be sinck now with what in game stats shows 7 minutes ago, I/JG27_Nemesis said: Why does the K-4 only reach 715 km/h instead of 728km/h (452mph)? from what i see that 728 109k4 used prototype props and was not standard, standard is what we get and standard speed is what they say we get, so all ok to me, and dont worry it will still be best thing with prop in game when it comes it will just not have that big advantage ugenst allieds as 109s have now vs yaks ? Well, yes, but the Spit. IX is being developed for Bodenplatte, not the PVO, where the type saw very little action. To answer @spudkopf's question: pilots are tied to the plane model, so you'll see it with the Tempest and Spit IX (and probably the B-25, since the USAAF did not operate it in the ETO). 1

Yeah, seems very bizarre for this sim to include a poorly documented maybe-used-maybe-not setting and exclude one we have concrete documentation of the use of down to the exact litres of fuel used 1

We plan to release it in two weeks (doh!) or so and today we'll tell you about the upcoming additions. Of course, the stars of the show are FOUR new aircraft, two for Bodenplatte and two for Flying Circus. Man I hope this falls on the USA Thanksgiving holiday week then. That would be freakin perfect as many have time off that week and would give those of us that do some great play time with the new toys. 2
Garven Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 The 56th fighter group operated and fought in the same skies as the 9th airforce which means Thunderbolts with 70 inches of Mercury on our map weren't uncommon. I also doubt 9th airforce P-47's ever flew without pylons (this is just a guess).

Yep, makes sense to have the P-47 operable at 70", those speeds listed above make me thing that is what we are getting. The speed listed in the DD still wouldn't be our top speed though, it's still faster the higher it goes but it loses power past 24-25k ft. Edited November 9, 2018 by Legioneod

Always pleasant surprises on top of unexpected challenges. Show the hard working Sturmovik Team some love this Holiday season. Also, don't forget to give us your Feedback!!! Keep them coming! There were several other props tested for it (with swept blades, thinner blades), 728 kph is the speed expected from the thinner bladed propeller. However, this one AFAIK did not enter production, but the figure did make it into the old William Green books, and from there, to other books. 715 is the correct figure, as the devs modelled it. 1 1
Beazil Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Well this is an encouraging update! Im looking forward to all the additions. I can see myself shooting the same AAA emplacements over and over again if I can't tell they are dead. I wonder if this means we will be able to cause damage to some tanks and vehicles we were not able to before? I'm also excited about the new netcode and improved stability. Actually there is a lot to look forward to in this update. Thank you for the new information.

I just know how hard the dev teams works and to put out such a great DD then to get henpecked with such minutia right away just comes off a bit..unappreciative sounding is all. But again, no offense meant and of course as stated it is driven by love and passion we all know. We all want this to be the best it can be. 2
