Devs need to solve that issue on their end because I am not going to disable my same origin policy in my browser.

Maybe the devs can use this information to resolve it?

Hmm I don't get that warning atm

I'm guessing it has to do with the embedding of the il2 mission planner into the website, which is currently offline.

It helps if you use stats.virtualpilots.fi as the stats site address, and not ts3.virtualpilots.fi.

It's not. This is about the Current Mission Information about target health etc.

Today we got a new dedicated optical connection for the server. Please, if you see any of the following, please report to us.
- invisible plane bug

- "no position data from player X" message
- "outdated data hit received" message

And also, you can report if you perceive that you should've had the invisible planes bug already (after playing X amount on the server) but haven't :)

I see that there's no mission planner map on the stats site as well.  (Giving this a bump)

Can I make a few suggestions for trash haulers;

1. Reduce the number of tank units at the spawn points from 30 to 10, it's very rare that they are all in use and reducing the numbers spawning would necessitate more parachute drop flights.

2. Have the supply flights start on the ground rather than in the air, air starts are for arcade games!

3. Would it be feasible to have designated resupply areas in field to supply tanks with fuel and ammunition to save them returning to base every time?

Barely holding my fudge for the C-47 here!!?

I've been experiencing bad rubber banding from other planes and lag along with randomly being kicked this week. Would this be the reason for this? Seems like lots of others have been noticing too. It got so bad last night I had to quit. Zero issues before Tuesday

Probably Sun Spots or Solar Flares..... LOL, just kidding, I get that from our server (US East coast) on our flight nights and my ping is only 35 (US West coast) The few times I've been on the FiVP server it's ran very well, even with a +170 ping most nights.  And I'm usually on around 2100 PST most nights. It's been very hot here too, average 104°F and still +90's at night.  Electronic circuits, input resistance/Impedance will change with heat/cold, all cable runs into a hub before it comes into the house and the cables, metal conductor (male/female) will expand and contract, my TV picture will pixelate when it gets really hot or cold, so I imagine it plays with the Internet coming in on the same cable. And it's been freakin hot everywhere this summer.  Go clean your cable connections with "Deoxit Pro-Gold" spray, I do it at least quarterly.  Don't wipe it off!!!!!

Cheers

All of our squad (spread from west to east / north to south North America) was getting the same "boingos" on Tues night so I don't think it's an individual machine or connection issue.

If it indeed seems to work worse with this connection, we can always switch back.

Greetings,

I expirienced together with another player the invisible plane bug on only one friendly aircraft flying with us. While being invisible he was able to shoot down an enemy. All that happened on the 12.08.2021 00:24 mission in Berlin time. I recorded it ingame and he is also not visible on the replay. If you want to have that replay file pm me.

I noticed that players medals are squeezed,
http://stats.virtualpilots.fi:8000/en/awards/11553/=ABr=422nd_RedSkull/?tour=42

to get them like this:

Spoiler

Alliedsexample.jpg

you should remove height in pilots_awards.html in your  \il2_stats\src\stats\templates

so its like this:

                {% for reward in rewards %}
                    <div class="award">
                        <img src="{{ reward.award.img.url }}" alt="" title="{{ reward.award.desc }}" width="180" >
                        <div class="title">
                            {{ reward.award.title }}
                        </div>
                    </div>
                {% endfor %}

You can do same to tankman_awards.html

That would be good.  I would guess that quite a few tanks are lost to the mission this way.  Looking at the logs and the times  it is  also  not a case of exiting right after an attack run  in most cases, I have found,  It's very slight damage you don't even notice  until you look at the server logs and see you lost your tank at end of mission

i look and it seam stats are updated and from what i see this min dmg % should work now

Probably for pilot medals you should edit pilots_awards.html located in  \src\mod_rating_by_type\templates , i think that one overwrights main one in \src\stats\templates, if that mod is activated from bundle.

Hi Admin,

Rather than just having the new AA playable vehicles at the tank spawn sites, would it be possible to have some located at the rear targets such as the railway stations, factories etc to provide some human protection?

This perhaps would be great fun to have an opportunity of engaging aircraft away from the current spawn sites?

For your consideration.

Regards

There is already AA at the railways and depots, they are the AI anti-air but still.

I feel adding more spawns to the map for the AA will make it too cluttered and spread an already vast map even thinner but this is just my opinion.

After you log in on stats web page, go into your profile. Then you will see My squad tab, and when you click on it you will see Join squad url with option to generate link. Copy that link you get, and send it to guy you wont to join. He needs to be log in on stats web site , and then just past that link you give him to his web browser.

Player who created squadron can invite, others cant, i think.

Salute!

The Finnish server is a success and we all like to fly it, but...

The stuttering near front lines are a pain, and pilots from lots of countries suffer from that in same moment, mainly when there is AAA firing or bomb explosions.

It is not about client side, because we only have this on Finnish server.

I have a pretty good PC and there is no way to avoid it.

What is the problem, do you need (money contribution) a help for a better server or better Internet?

The "German" Finnish Campaign Server has a better stability, but we all want to keep the stats on a single server, and original Finnish is far more popular.

The behavior is typical of inability of the server handle simultaneous clients demands: small CPU cache / slow HD or SDD buffer, PCIE band limitation.

Maybe the missions are too "heavy" on targets, maybe a mission with less activity/targets could bring a better experience.

BTW I have a very good server and Internet 24/7 server in Brasil (400/200 mb/s nominal), and I can set a dynamic campaign server for the community, if you let me to use your script.

I don't know if the script is a public thing or a particular.

How to have it?

Other point.

Can we have some campaigns with a 1943-1944 planeset, and a longer time in each planeset?

For me is a pain the unbalanced early war planeset, I stop to fly Finnish when planeset reset and come back after Yak IB planeset is available.

Thanks for the best entertainment we have on IL2 world.

The CPU is AMD 5800X, so a top tier single thread cruncher. The server is connected to a 1/1Gbps optical connection, although through a crappy optical router, which we'll get replaced hopefully next week. The reason why you, and everyone else, experience lag on our server, is because of crappy netcode. It becomes most apparent over the frontlines as you say, because there are "too many" players in a small area. Even when the server connection is able to throughput all the data (the connection is "idling") and the CPU is basically idling (most cores doing nothing, no core over 40% utilization), still the players experience lag. The game's net architecture just can't keep up.

The only thing we can do to alleviate the situation, and have been trying to do, is to try to spread out the players to a larger area with different objectives.

Thank you for that information. Is there anything we can do to have more than one person have the capability of generating this link?

The main issue is that our squad leader forgot his password to the finnish stats page and there is no forgot password option on login:"

Well, actually a typo on my part, it's 5600X :) ... But it's still top tier in single thread stuff.

server admin can change his pasword in admin panle in users options, he can not see his current password but he can change it. So he should contact Temuri or Untamo in PM and tell them what pasword he wonts and they can fix that for him, i think this is only option he has.

Also i just check, and its posible to give other squadmates admin role of squad, but he can do it only after he logs in, in My Squad tab, he has list of squadmates, and option to give admin role and kick from squad, so when he gets new pass he could select someone els to also have admin role for your squad.

Today the server run realy bad. Enemy aircrafts jumping around you, ..and diving like missiles .... imposible to aiming , ..a true crap.
Please, remove "atrezzo" explosions and all absursd concentrations of smalls targets. We had almost a hight FPS drop from 100 to 60 fighting over the targets in the front line, plenty of that "atrezzo" explosions in the ground. Please, fix the server, it was a very good idea.
thanks for read.

Increasing the bonus or adding a net + for killing a rear depot may be a good starting point to spread people out more.

+1 for @Haza's suggestion, since it may also help spread around the human AAA gun players. True, the stations and depots have AI AAA, but once those are destroyed, then those targets are unprotected from the ground for the rest of that mission. Adding human AAA spawn points near stations and depots would introduce the possibility of ground defense remaining a dangerous option to any attackers, provided there are human players willing to be that patient.

A downside to that, though, is that the spawn points can also alert how many enemy aircraft are currently attacking that station/depot, which I don't think we would want. The "Enemy aircraft near Station #1" etc. call-out system we currently have is the better option.

On Saturday I received for the first time ever the "no position data from player Charlo_VR" error. It seemed to be related to my being close to the furthest convoy of ships, and I kept seeing that error from others who I suspect were also out by those ships.

Is this a dedicated fiber line?

Since this modification (and coincidentally enough, around the same time as the last patch) I have experienced all of this. The most common seems to be invisible planes where I'll be tracking a contact and it will vanish, then a few seconds later re-appear in a completely different spot.

The no position data/outdated data has been happening a ton recently on other players and the chat messages clog up the screen. I have also noticed that everything seems very laggy when in a fight, the planes jerk around a bunch instead of having smooth and consistent movement.

We're back to the original fibre, and yes it's dedicated, although the router is crap, forcing the server behind a NAT. A tech from the ISP should come this week to remove the router and replace it with a simple media converter.

The latest patch may have something to do with these (as we are back on the original connection, so network shouldn't be the problem, more than before at least...).

This is scheduled for today 12:30 Finnish time. Server will be offline during the procedure, we're guessing something like two hours downtime.
