Lusekofte Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 To me he sounded like the cheated husband. But I am open for the possibility that 2020 is hyped up to a place it can’t deliver. Usually nothing are as good as it seems
SeaW0lf Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 I've seen a leaked footage from the game, low res, and it was astonishing, thunderstorms, city, and cumulus nimbus, just beautiful. Even with the intermediary specs people will interact with things that we did not see before. You can also download parts of the map to fly with better graphics. They had already told that CPU power wasn't a deal breaker. Unless they screw on the controls / cockpit side of things, I imagine what will be to fly MFS 2020 for a month and then go back to the other simulators, combat ones included. In some ways, it is the realization of what we dreamed. 1

LLv34_Flanker Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 S! The latest update showed clouds again. And those looked very nice. There is no competition. 1
Trooper117 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Looks great... if only combat flight sims could look that good!
Tektolnes Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Looks absolutely phenomenonal. The feedback coming out of those who have been getting hands on with the alpha is excellent too - it doesn't just look great but it flies great too. MS must have thrown some amount of money at this project.
DetCord12B Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 I really hope they release layered templates for the NEO and 74. I'd love to get back into commercial liveries. Just a few examples of my previous work. Some contracted. I love Airbus though, so I'm eagerly awaiting the A320 NEO. 3
SeaW0lf Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 (edited) We might be on the verge of a 'new' era of simulators. The whole thing sounds promising. A Thrustmaster set licenced by Airbus? Who could have imagined? I wonder what else will come to the market. I hope to see some good FFB sets out there. Looks like FFB will be supported, or it is on the works. TBH, if you already have a Warthog, there's little incentive in buying that throttle-set shown above, since the WH already comes with plenty of modes, buttons and switches and it's forces are quite similar to the real Airbus SS (the WH when new actually needs a bigger breakout-force).

It is more about the novelty. They seem to be expecting a new wave of players, which sounds reasonable due to all the hype. We might start to see some new stuff out there. 1
MattS Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 For me the thing I'm hoping for the most is a more "integrated" experience of civ flight. With FSX/P3D it felt like I had to constantly rebuild the world from scratch (downloading/installing/checking sceneries, starting/updating/configuring add-ons, doing flight prep/planning tedium that pilots would not necessarily have to wrestle with) just to have a plausibly realistic airline flight. If more of these functions are streamlined within the sim itself, and it does a better job of keeping up with the world in terms of airports and navigation, it will be a good deal for me. I'm just worn out on and done with tweaking. 1
Bagpipe Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 There is so much i want to tell you guys about MSFS2020. But can't. Bars get set high for new sims and sim products and with Microsoft being "The Daddy" the bar is probably set even higher. I can talk about Xplane 11 as i own that along with four modules including the HotStart TBM900 and ToLiss A321. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors. If combat sim companies like DCS and even IL2 got access to the tech as discussed in the article above i would absolutely sh...poop myself with joy. I reckon the industry stands to make a whole heap of money in the coming years

Tektolnes Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Not yet but it's one of their priorities apparently but I don't think there's any concrete date. Not sure if it even has TrackIR support yet. Last I saw was end April where TrackIR makers said they were in touch with MS now about adding support. I think adding TrackIR support shouldn't be overly difficult.
SeaW0lf Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Yes, from all the talks, there will be no VR support at the release. It is still on the wishlist, but they are working on it. One of the Natural Point representatives wrote a couple months ago in a forum that they had contacted Asobo to work on the compatibility, so I imagine that TrackIR will be compatible at the release, but TrackIR is still on the wishlist as well (not good). The good news is that FFB seems to be compatible. Brunner forum has some feedback, and a keymaster said that most FFB features are working as of now.
OrLoK Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Im rather excited about fs2020. i wont be buying until VR is in though. 2d seems so "removed" now.

Redwo1f Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 (edited) I just wish there is something "to do" - it would be fantastic if it had a search and rescue or fire fighting campaign - and if it was dynamic, that would be amazing!!! Give me something to do than simply just flying around - give me purpose. I do appreciate and respect those who are interested in it as it strictly as is. But for me personally, though it looks AMAZINGLY pretty, I am probably going to get board of it after the novelty wears off, just like it did in FSX for me -- and it is going to take up a huge amount of HD space. Maybe there will be a third party that would develop it further? Would love that. Edited June 22, 2020 by Redwo1f 1

SeaW0lf Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Yeah, for who likes the experience of flying, it looks promising. They are also saying that, with the dynamic weather and the flight model surfaces, you can do a few go-arounds and each of them will be different. But they could add some storytelling, perhaps some careers.

They feature a whole career system that includes your piloting efficiency and aircraft wear over time. It's just grand and put FSX on a whole new level. 1 1

I don't know if you're aware but there's a 3rd party website that you can register with that provides a money/career aspect to many of the flight sims. You pick up jobs, earn money to get better aircraft. I didn't get to investigate it properly because I was somewhat disillusioned with the physics, sound, performance and lack of collisions with objects in whatever Sim it was I was using (steam version of one of them, I forget which). I hope this sim has the good performance and physics etc. so I can finally live my dream of being Maggie in an old Cesna buzzing around Alaska.

Along the same line, the dynamic weather and great scenery should certainly make cargo hauls in FS Economy much less of a grind... I need to check in and see if my little FBO on the California coast is still operating. kestrel79 Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 Looking forward to what A2A is cooking up for FS2020, they have to be working on something. Those graphics with an updated Accusim should make it pretty fun. Anyone in the Alpha can they fly over Wisconsin for me? Is it generic tiles and textures or is it legit I can spot my house like in the screenshots of the bigger cities we have seen. Yeah yeah I know NDA maybe just a simple yes or no?

SeaW0lf Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Preorder already avaiable (yeah!). Standard (Game Pass), Premium and Premium Deluxe. Release on August 18th. Check the website.
AndyJWest Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 So, $59.99, $89.99, $119.99 USD, for the three versions (20, 25 & 30 aircraft, 30, 35 & 40 'handcrafted international airports'). Not bad. Even the standard version has a nice mix of aircraft, though I had to Google a couple. I shall definitely be preordering, though I'm not sure yet which to go for.

unlikely_spider Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Requires 150 gb hard drive space... Did they manage to fit the entire world in that space, or are they still streaming terrain to you as you fly?
