If you have 'failed to update' message in the launcher (if you're using non-Steam version), please close it, navigate to the installation folder of the game and open bin\game folder. There are files named launcher.exe and rofuplib64.dll - please replace them with the ones from the link below (unzip them first of course), then run the launcher again and it should work fine. Sorry for inconvenience!   http://il2beta.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/IL2_Version_3102_Launcher_Fix.zip

Update: Problem is solved by deliting the updates folder.

Not had a BoBP allied fighter release since Nov 2018... Can’t say I’m not disappointed at the further delay but to not even give an update about the remaining BoBP aircraft development.. Sigh...

Nothing happens, since startup.cfg isn't in the update folder anyway. I got the 'failed to update' message, and deleting the update folder and running the launcher again worked fine.

Stefan don't make the same mistake I made.....u need to delete the updates folder in the your root BOS dir.....not the updater in the data folder....

Anyone running a server: This update set my startup.cfg back to default values. If you're using certain logging features you might need to check your startup.cfg is as you expect it to be. In particular my own server decided it didn't want to create text logs any more, which messed up my server control script. So if you have issues, double-check your startup.cfg.

Can you explain in more detail what this means: Engine throttle control helper logic has been updated (previously it could limit the available engine power at high altitudes)

And I could have sworn I saw @Jason_Williams yesterday on the footage from those oshkosh live cams,

crawling through the cockpit of that Mossie, a ruler in one hand, a pocket camera in the other, trying everything in order to keep the customer happy. :lol:

Eager to try out the attack planes, now that RoF has some light bombers we can start putting together some proper escort missions, should be fun!

 

Now that the planeset is complete, are there any plans to discuss the future of the ww1 project publicly?

Tried updating - got a failed to update message.  Deleted the "update" folder.  Downloaded everything the second time.  Still got a failed to update message.  WTF??  I guess I'll check back tomorrow.

 

IT WORKED!!  NOW, I WILL CHECK OUT WHAT IS NEW.

@photog95661 which update folder are you deleting?   .u need to delete the updates folder in the your root BOS dir.....not the updater in the data folder.... hope this helps...

is there any news on when a fix for the sound bug issue, which was adressed in DD 225 on june 28, will be ready and deployed? could you even make it as a hotfix as this issue is preventing me (and quite possibly others aswell) from playing the game?

When the sound engine has been updated we will say so. I have no ETA on any new sound changes. All I can say is we are attempting to update to a more recent version on Fmod.

Not sure why that matters, but the answer is don't know. Depends on the speed in which they are completed and our plans.

Hi Jason & Devs,

 

I didn't yet try the Update to Version 3.102.

 

Is it always advisable to simply delete the 'updates' folder, just in case or should we first see whether the Update works as it should ?

Is the normal BOX Update procedure to always first (by program or manually) delete that 'updates' folder.

What Sneaksie wrote is a good practice I do with every update. On top of it, reboot after install. Let the zeros and ones settle down. Don't drink directly from distiller pipe ?

all my graphic settings and some things under camera  are changed

If you delete content of the updates folder old startup.cfg is erased during new install.

That's fine for those of us who understand how to follow that procedure, but for the less-savvy don't you think we need an automated solution?

I payed for ROF, I got ROF. Now I want FC, so I pay for it. I hope to pay for more FC volumes. And I'm happy for it.

My update just failed three times in a row. And I'm not the only one in my squad making that experience today. On my ONE flying day of the week. I'm utterly disappointed.

 

May I suggest you guys announce updates 2-3 days in advance? Had we known you roll out an update today, my squaddies and I would have re-scheduled our weekly session.

We're guys with jobs, families, real lifes, and it happens way too often that our weekly session, the one day we fly together, has been destroyed by an unannounced update.

If you run a local server, I suggest you start it from a batch file that first copies a backup cfg to startup.cfg.

  


REM  Store this file in the data folder

copy myserver.cfg startup.cfg
cd ..\bin\game
start DServer.exe ..\..\data\myserver.sds

@Novice-Flyer FC content, will be of great interest to those who enjoy WW1 warbirds. PWCG will most likely likely cater for single players and co - op, with careers being introduced later.

A lot of the work is carried out by a third party anyway, so should not be too much of a drain on dev resource. Speaking for myself, being able to fly those birds in VR is worth every penny. I'll be taking part in some online campaigns after the map becomes available.

just make a copy of it now, and leave in folder. Then after update if necessary use it. I usually compare with new version, but does nt very often alter
