GarandM1 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I am Texas born and raised (age 24)! I would love to help out. My accent is not too strong and I would really enjoy hearing myself in the game!

There were a metric ass ton of colonials in the 2nd TAF and in the RAF in general, even when one doesn't count the Article XV squadrons either. Not necessarily volunteering myself, unless your really desperate, which I gather from the responses that I've read through is not likely, but I can only agree with HB, in that I think it would be a bit off a miss if you did not consider having a good smattering of Commonwealth voices in the UK mix. The colourfully unique, Kiwi, South African/Rhodesian, Canadian and of course Aussie accents (sorry If overlooked anybody) where in no doubt quite plentiful over the airwaves during that period (including that of my Brother's Father-in-law, a RAAF Pilot serving in Bomber Command, who was shot down and became a POW in 44). TheAbomnableBlowman Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Hey Jason, I’m a 29 year old Californian who spent most of my childhood in the state of Georgia, as well as some time in Alaska (and can do the accents fine). I have access to a professional studio, my friend does audio for commercials (he recently did a training video for Alaska Airlines). I’m more than happy to do this. Email me, patrick dot zeppelin at gmail!
357th_Dog Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Hi Jason, American west coast, non-smoker, 33 YO, sound about 10 years younger than I am, have BlueYeti mic with pop-filter.
[CPT]milopugdog Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 'Fraid my mic sounds like I'm talking through a can. Sounds like a cool opportunity though!
=SWF=iceman14555 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 USA- 29, Florida native, Corsair Void Pro headset is the only mic I have. Current US Army with 10 years experience. Currently a deputy sheriff, that works at night, so if you send me something I will get to it on a day I am off and can get to my computer. Plenty of radio communications experience between my two jobs.

I wouldn't really think of our accents as being colourful, or unique, but my brother and I would love to send some recordings the dev's way, and be a part of IL-2 history! We have a mic setup, and good recording software for touch-ups. We're 20 and 23, and will sound the same as Americans from the North-West. Edited October 9, 2018 by CF-105
SpartanXXVAlanKurtz Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Hello, I am a 28 year old American from Missouri. I have naturally a rather plain American dilect with sometimes some southern twang that will appear in my words. I can naturally emitate southern, Brooklyn, New Jersey, and a few other accents and their word choices. I only have one British accent I can do which is more Manchester I believe, but I can do other European accents, Irish and Scottish being my best. In most accents I have different versions and ates I can do. Also, when I say I can do their accents I mean more do them naturally, not the stereotypical ones where it is evident you are trying to my mic something. Thank you for reading.
-SF-Disarray Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 (edited) I'm 32, from the US Pacific North West, so I speak with what is usually considered a general American accent. I have some mil comms experience but mostly from training, no field/practical radio work to speak of but I'm familiar with the basics. I have not done VO work but I have some experience with memorizing lines and delivering them naturally. Edited October 9, 2018 by Disarray
[TWB]80hd Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 I am 42, but my wife says I am a child, so I think she means I have a youthful voice. I have a rich, sultry midwestern accent, would be happy to give it a shot... could do a couple samples and see if it's what you're looking for, just let me know. 1
Medan Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 I am 36 from Maine with a subtle New England accent. I can hop on Discord/TS or send samples if you have any interest... thanks for the consideration.
THE__PWN3R Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Hi there, ive turned 23 not too long ago and have a rather traditional/ posh sounding British accent (people at work joke that I'm a time traveller from the 40s) it's my natural speaking voice so it doesn't sound fabricated either
Rhesus Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Hi Jason_Williams, I'm interested in volunteering. Canadian, 27 years old, I have several years of radio comms experience in rail and airport operations, actually have radio operation license etc. Native english speaker with the ability to layer on a french-canadian accent as well. Happy to help!
HarmsArms Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Hello, I am a 31 year old male, I have a Pacific Northwest accent (some consider it a non-accent).
TheLoliAssassin Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Just going to toss my hat in the ring here, 25 year old male from Buffalo, NY (no real accent). I have experience voice acting for a combat flight game though no military experience.

Slayke Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Hello, Canadian from southern Ontario here. Would love to do this, I have experience with using radio on the railroad.
Raptorattacker Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) HIya! I've been in the recording business for years and years (which doesn't necessarily count in ANYONE'S favour!). I would be more than happy to provide any assistance. I'm English, can do (certainly) any English accent(s) and many others... I do NOT have an Oscar or BAFTA award in any shape or form! Here is an example of radio chatter... https://mega.nz/#F!8yYRmC4b!KhXrnIk1cdLzqF8X_uHVIg Edited October 11, 2018 by Raptorattacker 1
von_Tom Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Me me me me me! I reckon I still sound young, and every week I'm a fighter pilot in my early 20s! Quite a while ago now, but you can hear me at the end when it goes black, telling the Doras what to do. von Tom
Speerx Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) Mid 20s Midwesterner American with a Blue Yeti - though natural speaking voice is a bit deep but after years of working in a call centers for years, I reckon I could adjust. Would be happy to help! Edited October 11, 2018 by Speerx
Jason_Williams Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 Hey guys, I'm packing up for another trip to Moscow. I will work on this when I am there. Looks like we have plenty of volunteers so everything will be fine. I just have to devise how to best manage this project. Jason 1 6
Do-Little_SatanSpoon Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 26, US Marine, Raised in mid-west USA. Recorded a small soundbit just for you (attached). Since I started playing IL-2 a year ago, I've been absolutely enamored with it. I'd love to be a part of the newest content! IL2recording_mixdown.rar
TheAbomnableBlowman Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 hey Jason, got a buddy of mine who is also interested. He’s done voiceover work for commercials locally in the Bay Area, and is around 25 years old if I recall. shehbaazmurtuza at gmail dot com is his email, he would love to be included in this
Drum Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 West coast Canadian, with 35 years of radio use.
Cybermat47 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Australian, 19. Not sure if there were enough Australians in 2nd TAF RAF units to justify an Australian VA, though.
Soilworker Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I'm from New Zealand, 31, I would say I have a slightly more subtle Kiwi accent (but I can broaden it up if need be) and I can do a range of other accents but it looks like there are enough native people to cover them. And I have a condenser mic.
k1ng Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 (edited) I have been told that i would be perfect for this after tormenting Dersheriff for a few hours last night 28, Lancashire, England. Raptorattacker Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 @Jason_Williams Mate, have you spoken to @Gambit21? He was talking about compiling this sort of thing a while ago... and he's a Tester? Just a thought?...
Gambit21 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 It's a good thought Raptor, but Jason needs not only full sentences, bit also many individual words and sentence fragments to implement in the current system. I keep it to full, scripted calls only that deal with specific mission circumstances, so there is little overlap between the needs of the two projects. Example - I had an actor call out fighters in a handful of directions, I didn't record a 360, 010, 020, 030, etc, accounting for the entire compass.
616Sqn_Johnny-Red Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 (edited) I spotted this rather late in the day: Yorkshire accented native English speaker. University educated. Former crown servant. Standard Pronunciation. Navigator / Sergeant Pilot / RAFVR Material. Accents of my native region would range between Sean Bean and Malcolm McDowell - broad to posh. Not entirely unlike the chap who can read his watch by the light of the searchlights during the first audio recording in this thread. People have always said I had a face made for radio. I would be happy to help. Edited October 12, 2018 by Johnny-Red Two l's in McDowell!
Willie_Makeit Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 A friend that plays IL2 for a very long time suggested that I check into this. Many folks have said I have a good voice. Though I think I have no accent, I can do a southern accent. I'm a non-smoker and 54 though I can't say I sound that old. I'm in southern Louisiana, USA. I do have a copy of IL2 from steam and have played it a couple of times.
Royal_Flight Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Northern Irish, late 20s. Prior experience of pro-words and brevity codes for radio comms. Also have done previous commercial voice-acting work and have access to quality recording facilities. Keen to to get involved and an Irish accent would suit either Commonwealth or US forces.
-332FG-Buddy Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 American accent from the northeast (Philadelphia,PA) ....african American decent.
No.23_Triggers Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 (edited) Only just seen this - I'm not very observant - but sounds like a lot of fun! Native Brit - If you're still looking, 23, so I'd like to think I've got the "youthful" part down I've got a pretty good mic on hand. My accent's a little on the funny side - London with the odd Scottish inflection mixed in (very subtle, but folks down south seem to pick up on it...up North, not so much ?)! FTC_Woop Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 (edited) Hello, I'm English, living in Greece, very clean accent, 23 years old and they tell me I have nice deep voice. Well, mostly my mother. Edited October 25, 2018 by No.615_Woop 1

Bremspropeller Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 German here with a reasonbly ok level in the English language. Generally inclined to US-English, but can pull of a clueless British accent. Or Canadian, eh? Should you need a Col. Klink type of voice, just give me a ring :D
