[MOD] Pilot in cockpit (updated: 4k textures)

I just wanted to stop the animation but it doesn't seem to work. Does the fix only work with using the new pilot body textures?

 

Also, installing the mod using JSGME seems to copy some mod folders into the IL2 root directory. Is this correct?

Hey hello! Installed it but I'm not as happy as before, is there any way to uninstall and don't wreck my game? ;D

Download this link and look at the file structure. This should tell you which ones to remove. 
This mod needs to be updated. I was working on it and just kinda stopped. There are some issues with it, hope to get an updated version soon though

By the way, when I made a version of this mod for myself, I noticed the following thing. If you fly with the pilot on the 109th, and the Pe-2 group is activated nearby, then the game responds with a slight jerking. That is, the pilots of the Pe-2 are also loaded. Therefore, I make for myself a separate pilot mode in the cockpit, for each type. Removing all parts of the general mod and textures that relate to other aircraft.

 Did this cover BoBP too? I was working on some of the pilot models before the update. However it quit working for me. Possibly I edited a file wrong. So I gave up. Good to hear.

Thanks Murleen, will give it a try later. Did you eliminate the hand wiping over the goggles for the old pilot models?

I think so, but I haven't tested every plane, so let me know if any still do.

In the 110 E2, one of the aircrafts I had the whiping hand, even with the animation fix, it works like it should. No hand whiping over the goggles. Thanks again Murleen, works great.

   I cannot for the life of me get this working. I’ve installed manually and via JSGME. I wonder if there is something blocking this. 
 

This actually quit working for me about two weeks ago. I must have done something :dash:

I can see the pilot reflections in the cockpit! It’s also nice to be able to see your head shadow, makes the flight much more immersive. It would be cool if the pilots hands moved with the stock and throttle, kind of like the P 39 and A20

Still to understand how to disable the mirror image in the glasses. There is no head, but there are glasses. :)

So it looks like this is setup for jsgme. If I install it via jsgme and want to remove it does it leave anything behind or will it leave all files the same as before? Thanks in advance.

Should work fine with JSGME and remove cleanly. Since the mod alters some textures in graphics/textures/common, you may get a message warning about this if you have any other mods which change files there - this shouldn't cause a problem, but JSGME will then only allow you to remove the mods in a certain order.

I note LL is 337mb and yours is 178mb? That's a lot of data missing between the two? Just trying to work out which one I need to install, cheers, MP

Yes, this one is more up-to-date and work with the latest game version. I haven't compared the file sizes - I'll look to see if anything is missing, but I've not seen any issues.

After 4.007, I stopped displaying the German pilot (old version 41) in winter maps. On Bf 109E. On the summer map, everything is fine. Is there anything you can do about this??

By the way, the old German summer pilot shows up, not the new one.

@Murleen I noticed the Mod doesn't work for the FW 190 A8 anymore, since the last update. I can't get the camera position high enough anymore to look through the gunsight. When I disable the Mod, it works.

Of course I tried it with copying the A8 default snapview file into the A8 snapview file, but with pilot body it doesn't work.

I need to regenerate the mod for 4.007, but I've not had time so far

Ditto- I had to do a re-center while huddling down next to my key board to get anywhere near a good view when I sat back in my normal position while flying the Focke Wolf 190.I also noticed that hand movement animation interfered while flying WW- 1 planes.I like this mod a lot & hope these small glitches will be addressed.

  The A8 has the same new pilot model as the D9, G14, K4 and 262a. They have two hands on the stick. The A3 and A5 have the old position with the hand on the throttle. I preferred that much more as it seemed the body is in a more comfortable position and looks better in the pit.

No, unfortunately, they changed the pilot model for all aircrafts, it seems. I tested the 110 E2 and the A3, and in both aircrafts the pilot has both hands at the stick.

And, yes you are right, the old version with one hand at the stick, the other hand at the throttle, looked much better. It is like it is. For me it still is better to have somebody sitting in the seat.

 Well bummer. I haven’t tested out the latest version. I’ve been busy moving out of my house :dash:

TBH, I only tested it, because I was flying a mission with the 110 E2 before and thought I  remembered having seen both hands at the stick.

One issue I found with 4.008 was the oxygen mask being exactly in the camera position in high altitude flights. I was flying the 110 E2 and would have had to move up my camera position that far, to be above the mask, as it should be, that I would not have been able to look through the gunsight anymore.

I tried to refine the texture, but I could not find all the elements of the mask to erase. :(

The oxygen mask shouldn't be visible - which version of the 110e2 pilot was this on?

It was the winter pilot, the summer pilot works, as intented.
