Is it possible to use the old forum theme somehow? I don't like this new one bit :D

You may find you get used to it.

For one thing its FAR faster than the old one.

It's also seem to have much better mobile response.

Give it a chance guys, I have a feeling we will get used to it fairly quickly.

I intensely dislike the new circular user images (look left).

It ruins the format of the images!

Yeah, looks like they have wanted better mobile response on the expense of other usability. Now as there is so much empty space everywhere, it's harder to scan/skim the topics. The breadcrumbs look like disabled links or some such. Too little contrast doesn't help either.

Anyone know if there's some extension to force your own layouts on a web site? :)

But just look how nicely it frames the head and beak on your avatar, perfection.

I think its a bit TOO contrasty really. The old one was easier on the eyes. I'm sure they'll tweak (or own themes as you say).

Somewhat unrelated but are there more stickied threads in this forum now? I don't recall having to scroll down a page and a half to get to the first threads.

Most of them aren't very relevant either.

Probably just the page layout, seems I remember the stickies being there beforehand as well.

Exactly what I was talking about above!

The best word I can summon to describe this new theme is "anemic"  .. Almost causes snow blindness :)

Yeap, not a big fan either. Could use a night mode.

Edit: The forum is blazzing fast now. It is also a lot easier to manage your past content. Quite cool!

we'll get used to it... give it two weeks and if you then would go back to the old forum (hypothetically), you'd find it weird/strange/unfamiliar and slow as hell.

You know, I thought that too. I'm one of the lucky ones!  :)

Also when you click on thread it doesn't redirect you to new posts.

It's a bit annoying moving to last page and scrolling all the way down to see new posts, if you can distinguish them form the old ones.

Lots of wasted space left and right, means that you're going to scroll a lot more when just skimming over topics unfortunately.

But yes, I'd love a darker theme as well, this is really quite bright.

And yes, it's hella fast, so there's that.

Hah - I had just changed my avatar a bit, to fit the round framing - and now it's square again.
So I went back for the old one.

Keep it square, guys - or you will have many more complaints, I assume.

If you click on the little star it takes you to the latest unread post, actually.

Double spacing following a carriage return irks me, but otherwise everything else seems ok.

Out forums (for another game) also made this transition. Its odd at first but once one gets used to it, Its damn powerful. Dont know my way around 100pc though :)

If I find "new content" future (for mobile version) similar to the one from old forum I finally get use to it.

Battlefront.com has been using this format for its forums for a while now, and IMO it's much superior to what we had before.

But yes, those stickies need to be cleaned up. There are far too many of them.

One new feature that is nice is the ability to easily mention someone's name, starting with the @ symbol. Once you do that, start typing a few letters, and you can then easily search for the person's name, e.g, @Jason_Williams, @Han, etc.

That is indeed pretty cool @LukeFF

Unfortunately we lost the ability to write in plain text mode.  But we can do this now! Which is a very welcomed change.

I just hope we get a night mode eventually. I really dislike reading plain black on plain white.

Another nifty little feature: you can change the style of icon for upvoting a post - Thanks, Haha, Sad, etc.

It REALLY bugs me that it does not remember the last post I have read on a topic and go to that page.  FFS help?

It's very annoying to manually move to the unread posts. Old forum did it automatically.

Is it bug or feature?

Maybe we click in a wrong place?

I quite like it, so far. If you hover over a thread title you can view the first and last posts, which is pretty cool.

@=LG=Kathon  @AeroAce

For me that only worked in the mobile site, on desktop it never worked.

You have to click on the circle or star (if you already commented) to the left of the topic to go directly to the last post that you havent seen.

It worked on the old forum which was better.
