It has a big learning curve (operational turns/UI/mechanics). But the simulation of battle is good enough so that if you have a basic idea of tactics that would work irl, it will work in the game. 2

I am just starting to get to grips with the combat side of things... be warned though, this is nothing like Skyrim combat. It has a learning curve that I am just starting to fully understand. You will come off worst early on, as the game is letting you know that you are a complete beginner at fighting with sword , mace and bow etc... but after lessons from your instructors and continued practice, your reactions and abilities should steadily improve. Meanwhile, a few more screens... You must have gotten this on sale? It's been ages since I've seen KCD screens. I take it you've seen the modding tools have been released... ? However, I did get RDR2 at full price, lol!

AndyJWest Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 (edited) A rather nice free Tiger Moth for X-Plane. ? Some minor niggles (needs a pilot, turn & slip needles reversed) but an update is coming. Just the thing for pottering around, though I'd not recommend it for alpine crossings as here, given its rate of climb. It got to 13,000 ft or so eventually, but it was a bit of a struggle. I should probably have looked up its service ceiling before I took off. ? Edited January 9, 2020 by AndyJWest
Cybermat47 Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Lieutenant Commander Kat-B320 and Lieutenant B312 of NOBLE team, accompanied by an unknown UNSC Army soldier, ride through Covenant fire during the Battle at Szurdok Ridge on Reach, 12 August 2552. This image is taken from one of the few fragments of video broadcast by Special Warfare Group THREE to SPECWARCOM prior to the glassing of Reach. It has been speculated that more footage exists, but is held in secret by ONI Section Three's Beta-5 Division. The UNSC has publicly dismissed these claims, as well as the existence of a Beta-5 Division.

Bremspropeller Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 First flight with the Toliss A319 from Raleigh-Durham to Atlanta. On approach for KATL's ILS 26L. Slippery little jet. I was a bit late in descending and the managed descent had her almost red-lining all the way down. A nice view from the aisle-stand. Turning onto the localizer 26L. I actually had to put on the anti-ice. Usually a jet (especially with slats) shouldn't be in too much danger in icing, but xplane loads up your airframe with chunks of glaciers really quickly... I let the airplane fly a dual AP approach down to 300ft RA. The landing-lights are really messing up the visibility in low vis conditions with xEnviro (not the airplane's fault). I had the runway-environment in sight, but you're kind of feeling like a deer-in-headlight there... I'll probably have to leave them off in the future. 1

DetCord12B Posted February 9, 2020 Author Posted February 9, 2020 Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts - Alpha. This is still an early alpha so remember, everything is a WIP. My HMS Hermes design. Very practical, very below the keel 50K ton design. The aft weight offset has been compensated for via offsetting the stern armor sections. Shes a tad bit weak back there but still good to go. Her 15in main guns are a foreboding sight. 20' belt armor deflects a round. Amazing armor pen and deflection sim. BREAK Welcome to the KMS Waffen Waffles. A beast amongst beasts! A tiny, shorty, squeaky, 35K ton BC with guns far too large (17in) to have ever been installed. What lunatic did this? She tends to capsize when turning, or firing, or just moving in any direction... From my new mission "Charging Leos": https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1998771920 It irks me to death that people poop on this DLC but fawn all over the that awful, boring, tepid mess that is Contact. 1
Trooper117 Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Yes, Contact was pretty awful... I tried to get into it but gave up, it just didn't grab me. As to GM, I will get it if and when they decide to put British forces into the mix. 1
Leon_Portier Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 GM is really nice so far. The campaign plays well and has some interesting scenarios, like one time you are watching T-55s on the other sides of the german border if they are gonna cross or not. Units and Map look fantastic too. There are some annoyances tho, in the mission editor if you make a MBT group, you have to do some fiddling to get the units in proper formation and the campaigns voice acting can be a little bland sometimes. I dont have Contact, but I´d get it on sale just for the map, the lighting looks very pretty! 1

Bremspropeller Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Lufthansa B-727 on an initial network proving-flight across the US, taking off from Lubbock, TX. About to intercept the localizer for RWY 25 in Veil, CO. After a quick stop in Veil, we're leaving back to Seattle/ Renton, WA. Enroute, somewhere high above Utah. Descending steeply into Seattle. That's Mt. Rainier in the background. Downtown Seattle with it's iconic Space Needle peeking through the murk. Turning final for a visual approach into RWY 16. The gear in transit. Greaser - despite Flaps 40 and anything but a noise abatement procedure... 2
Bremspropeller Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Who said X-Plane can't look good? Trying out the new freeware Zlin Z-142. Great airplane! Punching through the low stratus clouds in a Mad Dog. That old MD-80 still is a looker! On a short hop from Renton to Victoria, BC for some pattern fun on a short runway. Exporting the noise, I guess... Turning base for the ILS into runway 27. Floated for too long and had to take her around. On final for a full stop.
Bremspropeller Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 (edited) Aw shucks, just had to take the Zlin for another ride - it's a great airplane and a lot better than some payware out there... Just after take-off in Victoria. Going over to Nanaimo, BC, for dinner with a friend. There's supposed to be that new seafood place! Cruise-descent, about ten miles SE of Nanaimo. Take not, I figured out how to delete the aerobatics-sight on the left wing-tip between the two screenshots... On downwind in Nanaimo. Edited February 23, 2020 by Bremspropeller
