Hi JM,

loving your missions, great as always.

the "Bombing - He 111 H16 - Tank repair facility  NEW!" mission causes my PC to crash to desktop with a "warning" dialogue box open which will not go away and needs a hard reset of the PC to continue.

Any ideas?

Thanks again though, the B25 escort mission was amazing!

Hello Jade_Monkey, the mission 'escort to Aachen' was fun, thank you very much, really appreciated, first mission on new map.

I tried a change of pace next and opted to try the U-2 recon mission, however, it crashed the game.:cray:

A error box appeared on the desk top:

'Object undefined

luscripts\worldobjects\mapemitters\30.txt'

Could you shed any light on this issue please.

Ran the game again mods off and still the same so I assume nothing from the JSGME folder is responsible.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

That looks like one of the smaller smoke stacks. Maybe it's missing or renamed with the new patch. Will look into it.

Ill try tonight. I have only seen that error once before. There might be some media (images) in that mission, maybe that is the issue.

Guys, I took a look and there are no issues on my end:

The 030 mapemitter is an item in the game (smoke). If you dont have it you should verify your file integrity (if you are using Steam).

The bomber mission does not have pictures, I removed them before releasing the mission. No issues when running it for me, so I cannot "fix" it.

Thanks for looking JM,

I'll try again and see what happens. I'll make a note of the dialogue box text to see if it helps.

Cheers

I don't have too this file: luscripts\worldobjects\mapemitters\30.txt

I tried the file integrity check but it doesn't create this file! If you have a mean to get it I'm very interested

On Steam library, right click on game and go to properties. Then in the Local Files tab, click on verify integrity of files.

I think what is happening is that the file got renamed from 30.txt to 030.txt in a recent update.

Hello again JM, a non Steam user here, only have that for Blitz not for the GB series and there does not appear to be anything I can see in my files that mentions Steam library.

You would think anything from the 777 store would also have a way of checking itself, other than a complete re-install looks like I am stuck with the issue.

I tried to play again the Gambit A-20 campaign the other night and also had a CTD with that, however, it was not one of the missions that gave problems first time around.

Anyway, thanks for checking all the same.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Did you try going into that game folder and renaming the 30.txt into 030.txt?

There is no such "mapemitters"folder in luscripts\worldobjects\ in my game. May be I should create this folder and make an integrity check again to see if the "30.txt"file is created?

Hmm, interesting. To be honest I'm not sure why you are missing an entire folder.

I really love your missions JMM.

But it would really be great if you wrote the takeoff instruction systematically as you did for the Pe2 attack on Pitomnik, including specifying if you are leader or wingman (to check if you wait for the other guys to takeoff or not).

I played the Spitfire over Bastogne mission and it was real fun !!

New Tempest mission.

This is the first time I use in-game time for mission purposes. The friendly bombers will arrive to the target at 10AM regardless of whether you are there or not.

Check your clock (left hand side) and clear as many AAA as possible before the friendlies arrive.

There is also refueling involved at the beginning of the mission. Make sure you map or remember the refuel binding (RCtrl+F) and keep it pressed until the desired level is reached.

@Swing, I updated the mission, if you downloaded it when I first posted please replace with the new version (same post). The RTB logic was broken.

Thanks Jade, always enjoyed your missions, alas i haven't found enough time to play all the nice stuff you and others bomb us with ...

Now dev's, we really need torpedoes ... or maybe a totally new type of Tempest:

Hi JM,

sorry to bother you again, your latest mission will not load for me, a dialogue box pops saying "Luna scripts, world objects, missing etc" and the PC more or less locks up. Some missions still play out ok.

Any ideas what i can do?

Thanks in advance.

It would be very helpful to see the full error message. If you could write down the luascripts.... File.txt name, it would help me trace the issue to a specific object in the editor.

Overall it sounds like either my templates have some outdated object, or your game files are somehow not updated.

Did anyone manage to fly the last mission? That would help narrow down if it's on my end or in keenos end.

HI JM,

the error goes like this:

lunascripts/worldobjects/ships/LandboatA/LandboatA-MG30.txt

lunascripts/worldobjects/ships/Subtype2B/SubtypetorpedoturretL.txt

lunascripts/worldobjects/ships/Subtype2B/SubtypetorpedoturretR.txt

lunascripts/worldobjects/ships/Subtype2B/SubtypetorpedoturretC.txt

Thanks again

That's related to the submarines and their different guns/turrets. Looks like you are missing a bunch of objects. Maybe its time for a clean install, or file verification if on Steam.

Thanks JM,

im not a steam user, I’ve never had to do a clean install, how do I do it?
I’d like to save my missions, skins and controls files.

Its really weird this one. I did a fresh install, loaded the Typhoon ground attack mission from JM............it loaded. I didn't play it but started to re-download some MODS I had before the fresh install and when I re-loaded the Typhoon mission I start getting the same lunascript errors and the PC locks up!?

Im sorry to hear that. I think at this point you might have to contact support.

Hi JM,

I've just tried your Attack - P-47 D28 - Knocking on enemy gates mission, excellent mission however every P47 pilot is half out of the cockpit even with the canopy closed with the flare gun in hand!

Should this be a bug report?

Its been reported a few times here and in the test forum. If you find one of those reports it wouldn't hurt to comment and say its happening to you too.

Seems kind of random and hard to trace.

Thanks for the new missions.  I'm excited to try your  new U2VS recon flight. I loved the one with the P-40.

Hi everyone,

Community member @Zeev is currently developing a new tool that allows you to extract all downloaded missions to the right folder and run the mission resaver so they are always up to date.

I have not been able to personally test it but I wanted to give him a shout out and post about it here if any of you are interestied in testing it. I'm sure he will appreciate your feedback as the tool is in its early stages.

First alpha version is finally ready :)

The main features of the downloader are:

  • Automatic extraction of the files at the right place in the game folder (by clicking 'quick download' at the content browser). Application knows where the game is installed by reading registry.
  • Using MissionResaver at the end of mission download to try and convert it to up to date version (was not tested, but hopefully it will work).
  • In app browser to easily navigate through various game categories and files.
  • Registered users will be able to upload and post their own missions.
  • User can (currently) like content and in the future comment on content.

I was able to add Mission Resaver functionality at the end of each download (it is very CPU dependable!). To enable it user needs to check "Mission Resaver" at the top area of the window before adding files for download queue.
For now only your mission pack is available and some other mission pack that is too old (I have uploaded it for testing purposes).

Anyway, here is the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-utNdzm6FtFkQYtU7ai5AViv45QhpSLQ/view?usp=sharing

Jade_Monkey, thanks for posting the link to the application.
Guys, just to clarify, this is not only automatic mission extractor but a mission downloader.
You browse single player, scripted campaigns and soon more categories to be added, select what you want to download and the program does everything for yourself - even updating the missions to the latest version with Mission Resaver (disabled by default).

I have added Jade_Monkey's Scripted Campaign to the downloader "From England with love".

  • I would love to make a BP campaign but i am going to take a break after releasing Red Tide, and have time to come up with a less fictional and more researched campaign. I've bought a lot of books that cover this period, now I have to read them ?. I do enjoy some of those aspects in campaigns such as "Blue Nosed bastards of Bodney" (DCS). I would like to build on that idea and include a supplemental PDF with useful info for the missions.
    • If someone wants to collaborate in this and help with the research please let me know.

Best,

JM

Sorry I didn't notice your post earlier - I only visit the forums now and then - spend already far too much time on forums and reddit and the like!

Anyway, I have James Holland's recent book on the Normandy landings and all the operations and missions that went on there (including stuff like Charnwood and Epsom) - and would be happy to look up anything you like, or just have a good read through and let you know of anything concerning any operations you are planning to cover. That's if you don't have the book  yourself, of course! :)

@keeno; @JefCostello; @Missionbug. It seems like the issues you guys are having with errors in missions with luascripts has to do with some mods you have installed. If you unsinstall the mods you should have no issues.

Posted

JadeMonkey,

Yes! that was my problem completely, I turned off MODS as suggested by Han and BOOM...…….. back in the game...……….literally!!! Back to yours and others fantastic missions!

Hello Jade_Monkey, The only mod I have installed is the authentic Luftwaffe markings, could that really cause a crash?

Yesterday I installed the latest patch and as always following that I resaved everything in the Campaign and missions folders, I just tried the U-2 mission before writing this post to confirm any issue and following mission brief as it loads the mission the game crashes.

Here I hope is the relevant dump file, could you please take a look at it or pass it on to the development team.
