There's currently some issue with the campaign system. Investigating.

The primary reason for the "new" (well, not so new anymore) tank spawn positioning was to reduce spawn camping (from both ground and air). But it also caused several issues, the worse being the ones which placed the spawns on opposite sides of rivers in comparison to the targets. Also, the new positioning was many times a long way away from the nearest roads. We now reverted to the old placement, so the front spawns are near and between the front objective positions which are always positioned along a stretch of road which connects the front positions. The spawn point AAA is no longer invulnerable.

How long left of the current campaign and when does it finish. Also, when does the campaign and stats reset? Like a rough timeline please?

Campaign will end once one side complete their objectives.

 

Stats resets all quarters, so 1st january. Stats do not reset with new campaigns.

I wonder if the terrain thing that was discussed in a recent dev diary would help with the invisible obstacles. ”Roleplaying” that they’re minefields only goes so far.

Sorry to the Red pilot I friendly fired the other day. There were FW-190s in the area and I nailed you with my IL-2. No excuse for it, I play clean and by the rules. Just a stupid mistake.

Some time ago, someone suggested somewhere (can't remember where) that we could try having the tank battle only on one sector. This sounds like an interesting idea. It would at least pack the tankists into smaller area for more concentrated tank play.

 

I was thinking about  that, on that "tank sector", we'd also remove the front airfields and perhaps temporaries too, but leave the rear fields. As the "tank sector" would still have the depots, stations, and bridges, the rear fields could still be used to mount bomber attacks on the enemy frontline troops / tank players and rear installations, but air threat to tank players might not be as severe.

 

Pros, cons, thoughts?

Might be dangerous.  The only real detractor I've seen is that there's two Flashpoint in each map, and it's been equated to a "larger berloga".  If you effectively rope off a sector from these front line objectives then you either have to compress the spacing, or have one "set" of front line objectives. 

 

If you get creative and can fix that potential issue, then I don't see a downside.

Seems interesting tbh, more pvp between tanks could be great

I don't like the tank drivers mixed in with pilots on this flight simulation anyway, but that's just me.  I would be pleased to see no tank players on this server and more room for pilots.

Are AAA mounts at tanks spawn areas still invunreable?

Today spawns and artilery points were basically in the same place which resulted in people wasting a lot of ammo on something that cannot be destroyed and there's no way to make attacker lifes easier.

Would it be possible to make tank spawn AAA to be destroyed but reactivate it within couple of minutes?

Sounds like a good idea but would have to make sure tanks on both sides are available the whole game even if troops are wiped out otherwise might be left with nothing to do except go to another server .........God forbid!!!

I do not see where the problem is. This server is the only one that realistically offers a Total war system. 1C studio is developing the concept through different packs (Tank Crew) and there are still some peoples to say such nonsense !!!
 
I drive tanks and I fly planes ..... I enjoy both intensely. Thanks to the organizers of this server for their work !!

No, my dear !!!

 

You have to move nothing!!! war such as presented on your server is just fine!!

 

Tanks are doing what they have to do and planes too. The only small problem is that too few tankers are playing and "tank sector" solution will not solve the problem.

 

At this time, tanks cannot camp on Air base and camping on temporary is not usual and due to the fact that temporaries have no AA defense. if you have to correct something is ont that point.

 

Also to increase game play, why do not include convoy from rear depots and front depot to fronts? you could add road convoy and Railways. The invulnerability of AA on spawn is a good idea (this does not prevent from tank attack, but it is an help!!!).

 

Also AA invulnerability on Air bases is also a good idea to prevent constant Attacks on base.

 

I repeat, the only small modification to make is to add a (reduced) AA defense on temporaries!!

 

Be careful to do not modify too much the server rules, you take the risk to disappoint a lot of peoples.

Probably a dumb question but, where would one find information on when new models of planes unlock? I can't seem to find it anywhere 

And is it on a timer, or are there objectives that need to be completed to unlock the new planes for your team?

On the Finnish virtual pilots website under 'current mission information' it tells you the planeset which corresponds to the lists halfway down the the info page here.

 

I believe it changes to the next one after two days.

Not a joke, but looks like there are no suitable free areas to place the tank spawns any closer. Remember: it's generated by script, not hand-placed.

The only one sector in the mission was a copypaste error done by me when adding the autumn for Velikie Luki. Should be fixed after next mission rotation.

UFO* is quite right on this point and thanks for your reply LLv34_Temuri.

 

BUT REGARDING UFO* .........There is another trouble in that server!!!

 

Each time UFO* is destroying a target and taking points...........> here.......>http://ts3.virtualpilots.fi:8000/fr/tankman_sortie/739201/?tour=39

example, yesterday morning: 38133k....................yesterday evening : 40172k.........so 416 points of target destroyed and at the general ranking ........2039 points...

 

It is the ONLY player (except mistake from myself) that benefit of what seems to be A BIG BUG in the parcer !!!

 

Of course no bad intention of anyone, just a bug that should be solved to give anyone same chances!!!

Yes for sure , UFO* never die , it is just that from a moment, the system multiplies "artificialy" the points acquired in the game by 4 or 5 which is surprising.

Is there a point in time when the map is changed manually? Seems like we've been on this one for over a month and it got me thinking "are we going to be here for 6 months?!"

Пенсионерам считает х2 .)) Когда Colosky  в прошлом туре мало умирал и тоже набирал много очков , тебя это не беспокоило ? ? Просто  сейчас у меня нет смертей и статистика так считает . Будет первая смерть и очки сбросятся на половину , тогда набор очков замедлится . Зависть и кляузничество не лучшая черта . P.S.  могу дать наводку где умеют править статистику , что бы считала со знаком минус ...Вы тоже хотите пойти по этому пути ?

And as far as I'm concerned, I prefer to have fun and be killed from time to time .... the score is just for fun. I like you UFO *?, you often make me laugh and don't worry, I don't mean harm, just once, kill you in your tank !!!?

Ты сам себе противоречишь  когда говоришь , что очки тебя не волнуют . При этом сам начал разговор со статистики . Мои внуки посмеялись ,когда я им показал эту переписку . Когда они приходят ко мне ,они катаются на моём танке на этом сервере ))

Hey UFO* !!

 

I know various kind of players on Finnish server.

 

1/ Those who play ONLY on one side (you and me for example)

 

2/ Those who plays one full Tour on red side (or blue side) and then changes of camp when another Tour is starting (what I will probably does once a time)

 

3/ Those who looks for fun and are playing a mission on red side and another mission on blue side

 

4/ Those who wants to use various materials and can changes side during the same mission (generaly they are just playing without looking at stats, at strategy etc...).....they will play 1 hour on blue side and 1 hour or 2 hours on red side....or vice versa!!

 

And finally

 

5/ the bad players that are playing constantly on one side (blue in your case) and comes for 5 minutes during a mission, on red side, to look what some players are doing, from what spawn they are starting etc....etc.....

I would not know that on Finnish server, we can play as an aviator, a Tanker and a spy too!!!!!!

 

So nice game and server!!!!!?

SRS issues.....

 I just installed srs and it works on other servers but not here. Is there some issues with it ? Thanks!

 I bought myself an early Christmas present, a gaming headset. Hoping to enjoy this!

Odd issue earlier - spawned in a FW190 and only when I fired at a La5 did I realise that I had no cannon ammo at all - this is not an A-3 option.  Might just be a bug.

 

Great server.
