CCG_Pips Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) I'm baggin' your pardon, but may insert my humble opinion? The best way to deliver the color is to use multiply references. And it is interesting to notice how color varies from color-chip to colored photo, from one source to another. For example, for these particular colors you can check contemporary colored photos of Bf-109G-2 "Black 6" Samson, as you can see, varaition of light, overall situation and rendering of colours looks completely different between your two pictures!! But you said and said Stab/JG26_5tuka, my light blue and yellow sand are too dark ........I will work on both rendering to show you différences Edited January 29, 2015 by C6_Pips 1
samson Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Samson, as you can see, varaition of light, overall situation and rendering of colours looks completely different between your two pictures!! This is exactly the thing i pointed at. The color eye percieves depends on overall "light scene". The game fails to compete with reality in this aspect, so to recreate the perception of color it is usefull to see how this paint looks on real crafts, not only judging by digital color chips. But you said and said Stab/JG26_5tuka, my light blue and yellow sand are too dark ... never said that.

viperrm64 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Hello all, Here's a Holland based Fw-190 A4 of 9 JG 1 based at Leeuwarden, 1943. I know it's not a Russian based Fw-190 so please accept my apologies, but I just pick a skin from a profile I like the look of(and not too hard to do, I will leave those to the like's of Jaws, SPEKTRE and Iceman!!!), and away I go. Please don't forget this repaint carries full historic markings. Thanks, Rob. http://www.mediafire.com/download/94nuzemp7qo8c8p/Fw-190A4_9_JG1_Yellow_1_Leeuwarden_Holland_1943.dds Wow Mihalich that's an awesome skin, don't worry about your English just keep turning out these superb skins!!! Thanks. 1
viperrm64 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Fw-190 A6 of 2-JG 1 belonging to Anton Rudolf Piffer based at Schipol in summer 1943. This skin carries full historic markings. Hope you like it thanks, Rob. http://www.mediafire.com/download/11cxik5ewi1crzv/Fw-190_A6_2_JG_1_Black_3.dds 2
Pierre64 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 FW190_JG1_A4 Lt.Eberhard Burath wn581 https://yadi.sk/d/K1epwz15ePJV7 Very nice Mihalich ! According to Erik Mombeek, author of (highly recommanded for any Luftwaffe enthusiast) "Luftwaffe Gallery n°4" : "...IV./JG 1 with its well~known "Lucifer emerging from the clouds" emblem. It has long been assumed that the devil appeared against a blue sky background on these emblems, although a recently published colour photo (unfortunately Mr Mombeek doesn't give his source) indicates that the fires of hell have in fact turned the 'sky' a deep yellow~red colour..." This article is illustrated by a very nice (as usual !) profile by Thierry Dekker. Do you guys know where to find this "recently published colour photo"? 1
WWChunk Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Hmmm...that's a much more menacing looking emblem with those colors. As an aside, I love Thierry Dekker and Claes Sundin's profile work. It's simply outstanding. I've downloaded every Würger skin so far. Thanks to all the artists out there!

Just got the JG26 special album of the Luftwaffe Gallery and the photos are really big and clear. I also got his JG2 book Dans le ciel de France Volume 3 (1942) and it's awesome. Good size pics full of detail.
Jaws2002 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Updated my last skin. I didn't pay attention and the camo on the wings was way off, fixed that and the mottling on the tail. Here are the updated skins: Historical markings: http://www.mediafire.com/download/43na5k7q0uat37t/FW190A3_Grunlinger-hk.dds Censored markings: http://www.mediafire.com/download/7z2oitf53unv2st/FW190a3_grunlinger.dds screen capture I tried to update them in the skin downloader tool as well, but it didn't worked as planed. Instead of updating the skin it made a new one...with the same name. Pn top of that I forgot to select the FW-190 as the type, for the historical one and the tool took it as Bf-109 F4 skin. so forget about that one. 1
viperrm64 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I managed do turn out one new repaint today, It's a Fw-190 A2 of Jagdfleigerschule 4 "Blue 4" , a little bit different this one as I didn't have much reference to go on, but as far as I can tell it has RLM 76(slight variation) for the overall light colour then RLM 75 and RLM 73 as the two main camo colours and the mottle is RLM 70, all very modded by me to slightly darken the overall effect as well as several very light "washes" of almost brown/black to add to the weathering and tone down everything further, anyway see what you think. Don't forget this skin carries full historic markings. Thanks for your interest, Rob. http://www.mediafire.com/download/y7pzqmiv6uv2drv/Fw-190_A2_JFS_4_Blue_4.dds 3
viperrm64 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Hi all, Just one I knocked out this afternoon while still being on sick leave!!!(three weeks now with infection in waterworks, DONT GET OLD!!!). Fw-190 A3 10/Jg 1, don't know much else about this one, so feel free to enlighten me. This skin carries full historical markings. Thank you. viperrm64 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 FW-190 A3 1/JG5 "White 10" flown by Wolfgang Kosse, in Herdla, Norway, Oct 1942. This will probably be my last skin for a while(said that last Friday but had to have another week off from work due to illness), as I am back to work on Monday, worst luck!!!! Hope you like this skin it is fairly heavily weathered as my reference profile shows it as such, Kosse had his distinct "Monkey Chainsaw" emblem on the front cowling which was unique. This skin carries full historic markings. Thank you. Rob. P.S. Very excited about the news today saying about the new seasonal maps and especially the long awaited FMB as hopefully we will be able to utilise all these wonderful repaints that we have all done for all the IL2BOS aircraft. Also I have spent a long time making Luftwaffe Kill Markings in PSD format (some with layers so you can change text etc, etc. They are 99% accurate and were done on a blank canvas of 1024 x 1024 with a 1200 dpi resolution, they cover Luftwaffe Russian and RAF kills and one set of French AF kills and a few miscellaneous ones as well, if you would like them PM me and i'll zip them up along with the reference I used and send them to you. http://www.mediafire.com/download/mjdm0v54ee496nf/Fw-190_A3_1_JG5_Wolfgang_Kosse_Herdla_Norway_Oct_1942.dds P.S.2 If skin doesn't show in game, reduce title, i.e., rename to just Wolfgang Kosse.dds and it should be fine. 2
Yankee_One Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Very nice skin Rob, you made a fantastic job again.
viperrm64 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) "Yellow 9" Fw190 A6 of 3/JG-11 1943 Just one I did today, this Fw-190 A6 had no mottling until the tail section and it also had a strange and slightly spikey demarcation of the two tone grey camouflage on the fuselage. Hope you like it and thanks to LcSummers for his kind comments. This skin carries full historic markings. Jaws2002 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) FW-190 A2, WNr.282, flown by Fw. Karl Nowak of 9./JG 2. France June 3rd 1942. He shot down two spitfires that day, his 11th and 12th victory. He was shot down and killed, by a spitfire, over the Chanel a week later. I have my doubts about the camo on the left wing. It looks wrong, but It may be just the lighting. I don't have a higher resolution picture, so I'll let it as it is.
