No!☹️ What a stupid, stupid error!

 

Now I did it, and all German planes became correct, but all but one British squadrons disappeared!?

Been there, done that :)

 

Hurribomber comes in two oddities:

Aircraft.HurricaneMkI_FB

tobruk:Aircraft.HurricaneMkI_FB-Trop

(the Euro one lacks the tobruk prefix, change that in the mis file and you should be good to go)

@theOden Please, could we have some antishipping missions for Bf 110C-6 of 1./ErprGr210 during BoB40? (Currently I'm getting only escorts)?

Btw I tried some bf110C-7 missions in the desert campaigns, only got escort too. Was expecting some ground attack missions (I didn't try extensively).

On the first mission I tried with the Bf 110C-7/trop in the Sonnenblume campaign, I got a bombing mission.

I believe that the "only escort missions for the Germans" problem belongs to the Kanalkampf campaign.

I wish this could be incorporated into the CloD game itself rather than being 3rd party. Would be a really useful selling point.

Wonder how TFS is coming along with work on their native DCG. I don't think it's been mentioned for TF 6.0 or 7 inclusion.

This dynamic campaign by theOden sounds great.  but where is it hiding   ???.     I can't find it anywhere. And yes, I was logged in.

It's almost 2024 now, is it still available somewhere   ???.

The Oden's DynMis executable is not in the game, it's an added software you'll use with it.

 

If you don't have any user account at the ATAG (the Air Tactical Assault Group) forum, simply create one, you'll find DinMis there.

Hey guys, I'd love to give it a shot but I have not found a single up to date guide on the install. 
Following three year old guides I'm getting an error popup and that's it. 

 

Can somebody quickly guide me through the setup? It feels like there are ten different threads across three forums and none seem helpful.

While we patiently wait for the latest release, I have an AI question.  Does changing the AI settings in the base MIS files do anything?  Or is it all determined by the program itself?

I believe the file provided in the ATAG link above is outdated and incomplete, and doesn't work.

Greybeard links only provide the templates and not the latest executable.

Since there is no more link in the opening post, seems to me that the only way to play it is if someone uploads the entire folder. I don't have it either.

Hi Sorry to be late in replying ... it all works and is very straightforward,

1) Download the attached Zip.

2) Extract it anywhere (I have it on my desktop)

3) Download @greybeard_52 updated profiles from

https://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads5&file=details&id=291

 

4)Extract Greybead's file into your Documents\1CSoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of Dover  folder (If asks to overwrite answer yes)

 

5) Run IL2 Dover DynamisDover (from desktop if you put it there)

 

6) Chose the folder of the game and your docs file where you put your updated parameters from greybeard

7) Choose the campaign in the template mission dropdown - ie. Battle of France

 

8)Choose your Squadron/staff/etc

 

9)When press start IL2 Cliffs will start. Choose single-player missions

10) All the info will be here, including the results of the last mission once you have completed one.  You need to keep your own records its not like PWCG in that respect - little note book of kills results is nice.

Pretty sure theOden pulled it down until the Visual and VR update drops.  Probably doesn't want to release a new version that he'd just have to go back and update.  Just my guess.

 

However, I also have the above 2022 version and it works with the VR Beta okay.

Reinstalled game and tried the 2022 version posted earlier instead of the 2020 version on air tactical. Seems to work ok now.

 

edit: nevermind, it's doing it again. now it pops up the error message when trying to load the mission. that's too bad. I really wanted to like this game, but without a functional dynamic campaign system, i just can't do it. oh well.

I'm so sorry, I do not know what to suggest - it looks like you've done everything right from what I can see ... you could try a different template or squadron and as someone else suggests leave the parameters blank too.  I so hope you sort it!

I tried with different templates and squadrons and with the parameters left blank. Sometimes, I can get the first mission to work, but then the error will fire on the second mission.

 

I see there were others with this same issue in this thread. A common theme is they (like me) all have the game installed in the "program files (x86)" directory. I know from my Silent Hunter modding that sometimes 3rd party mods do not play nice with that directory.

 

I'll have to see if I can put the installation elsewhere, otherwise I'm all out of ideas.

Yes! Of course that makes perfect sense - I have steam on D:\steam for that reason.  SH3 and others taught me that long ago too!

I think I've solved the problem. I went into Kaspersky and set some exclusions. I excluded the game folder for IL2 (...steamapps/common/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover blitz), the documents folder for IL2 (...documents/1c softclub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover), and finally set the dynmis exe as a trusted application.

 

game install is still in program files (x86) so that wasn't the problem. it appears Kaspersky was interfering in the background without throwing any alerts (as it is wont to do).

 

I've done 3 or 4 missions now in BoF with no issues!

One thing I've noticed is that the escort missions seem a little wonky. The planes to be escorted seem to just fly directly to their mission target, and many times my flight leader and others in the flight will announce they are heading back to base before any action starts.

But that's the problem with the AI in the game. The problem isn't creating dynamic campaigns. AI behavior is now handled by TF and will be fixed in 6.0 like everything else. :) I forgot to write that this is exactly how the AI behaves even in the static campaigns of this game.

Dagwoodyt if you only play online you can't judge it. This AI problem is mainly for single player. So I don't know what you're laughing at. :)

I have discovered that even if not flight leader, i can use the radio commands to order the flight to skip the first waypoint or two and go directly to the flight to be escorted. That prevents the time wasted circling the airfield while the bombers are heading straight to their target.

Yeah, there are some AI issues that DynMis just can't get around.  Like when I'm tasked to take out a convoy with my Hurri-Bomber, and all my wing-mates drop their bombs in formation from 10000 ft like a bunch of Flying Fortresses.  ?

Yeah, unfortunately it is pants-on-head bad. Enemy planes flying in a straight line basically saying "thank you sir, may I have another" as i circle around and hit them again and again, flights not following waypoints, this weird thing where planes don't exactly crash into the ground, just kind of stumble into it and sit there not being counted as a kill, flights to be escorted all crashing upon takeoff, etc.

 

It sounds like it is getting the attention it needs to make it top-tier, but it's just not there yet it seems.
