SARFlytitus Posted August 12, 2020 Author Posted August 12, 2020 @Yardstick As is now customary, your contribution is very important to clarify some aspects relating to the colors and heraldry in use at the USAAF during WWII. I also thank you on behalf of other members of this community for having the patience and passion to shed new light on such important details. Myself as an apprentice skinner and seasoned model maker I was able to dust off and deepen old and new information. I sincerely hope, sooner or later, to reproduce the liveries of these fantastic flying machines in the most historically rigorous way possible. If and when I succeed, it will also be thanks to your timely and precise comments, together with those of @Pierre64 and the maniacal fussiness of @geraki9. I sincerely thank you. your SARFlytitus 1

BlitzPigVoidcracker Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 (edited) Thanks for sharing! excellent work! Question, if i may...weren't "Special Delivery" and "The Madam" part of the 387th Fighter Squadron? They carry the B4 code lettering prefix same as "Turnip Termite"? I'm no expert but as far as i know, they were. Edited August 17, 2020 by BlitzPigVoidcracker 1
SARFlytitus Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) @BlitzPigVoidcracker thanx m8 , obviously you’re right . It was copy/paste mistake ,corrected just now! ??? Edited August 18, 2020 by SARFlytitus 1
Blitzen Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Truly a treasure trove of P-47 skins.Back in the day some crew chiefs with a year or two of art school must have done quite well for themselves painting nose art on the planes of their squadrons... ( Now if only there was a campaign or scripted campaign to fly these Razorbacks in!?) 1
FaireyFulmar Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Hello! I love your Hell Hawks skins and find very much joy in them! But I think I have found an error with the Stinker Too skin. It should probably not have the underwing D-Day stripes, since this paint job is from November 1944, Chievres Belgium (A-84). This late in the war the planes only wore D-Day stripes under the belly. But the other details seem correct. Check out this scheme i found, I hope the resolution is good enough. 2
SARFlytitus Posted October 12, 2021 Author Posted October 12, 2021 This is not the easiest or happiest period of my life. I have had two serious bereavements recently and, beyond the pain, I have several and merciless bureaucratic aspects to fix. I hope to be able to return to the community in an active way soon. @FaireyFulmar Just seen your reply, thanx Mate, it's very appreciated. Hope i'll be back soon with corrected skin for "Stinker Too" ! @XQ_Lothar29 Thanx Hermano, always nice to see you... 2 1
