Again this is by memory. I can check tonight to confirm. The first is correct. Stukas need 4K meters to dive bomb. The AI is very persnickety about that. The lower altitudes are for situations where a low cloud ceiling prevents dive bombing. The Stukas will fly underneath the ceiling, whatever that may be. In this scenario the Stukas will drop bombs like any other attack plane.

I've installed everything accordingly, but after the first mission the new ones don't appear in the in game folder mission on BoS. They're there in the real folder inside the mission folder but the game won't recognize them. Any ideas what's happening, I've tried reinstalling everything, checking all the options and making sure all the planes I own are selected. Thank you, Best wishes.

I have encountered this problem last week and, for me, the reason was that some of the Fw190 in my flight were A6 that I did not own. I only own A8 so I took care to always pilot A8 but it was not sufficient. When I restarted this campaign, I choose a period were only A8 were used in my squadron and it worked.

PWCG offers the ability to replace any plane in your squadron with a different plane. Campaign->Activity->Equipment Request This way you could swap an A6 for an A5 until A8s are available.

The equipment algorithm of PWCG does not allow me to easily ensure that there is a player flyable plane available. The equipment request mechanism was put in place to solve the problem. You can drop an Me109 into an FW190 unit if you want. In reality, some German pilots actually did that.

Thanks! If you don't own the plane that the player is set to fly then 1C will not show the mission in the list. If you want to zip up the mission files (I need all of the files for the mission) you can post the zip here. I own all of the planes. If I can fly it then it is almost certainly the case. Suggestion: Take a 1 day leave Make another mission, paying careful attention to the plane that you are flying. Make sure you own that plane. If not, change it to one that you own. Fly the mission
KodiakJac Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 (edited) Hi Pat, I tried to start an Airco D.H.4 campaign on June 1, 1917 with RFC 2 in PWCG tonight, but the flight is lined up to take off into a row of nearby trees. Half my flight crashed into the trees on takeoff, and the ones that made it through only did so as they flew between the trees. They were carrying 4 x H.E.R.L. bombs, so they were a little heavy, but I don't think they will be able to clear the trees under any circumstances. So then I tried to start a D.H.4 career on June 1, 1917 in RFC 12. No problems with trees on takeoff, but before my plane started to roll the game freezes just a few seconds into the mission. I tried twice. I deleted the first mission and generated a new mission, but the game froze again just a few seconds into the mission. All my other careers in PWCG are working fine...flew a couple of other PWCG missions tonight. But it's impossible to start a career with a D.H.4 on June 1, 1917 in PWCG right now. I'll let @PatrickAWlson give you the definitive reply to the unfortunate problems you're experiencing. I'll add though that, from my experience, the game freeze problem could be due to the "Object Not Found" error. I use Mods and game freeze happens to me occasionally. My solution is to (1) ALT + TAB, (2) Click OK on the little box with text "Object Not Found" which should allow you to go back to the game but with another, similar "Object Not Found" box on the IL-2 screen, and (3) Click OK in the "Object Not Found" on the IL-2 screen. That should clear out whatever was causing the game to freeze. I hope that helps. P.S.-FWIW I'm also having problems with DH4s failing to take off from their airfields as well as problems with AI bomb loads. I've given up on trying to start a DH4 career for the time being. 1

You do not need to have mods enabled if you’re using custom skins. If you’re changing something on the aircraft model, like maybe making parts transparent to improve cockpit visibility, then that’d be mod-reliant. As for your DH4 crashes on take-off, sometimes there’s issues with asset placement that can cause things like that to happen. Pat does a great job staying on top off all these things, so I’m sure he’ll address it when he’s able to. 1

Hi Azdack - Check your intel screen, it will show combat ineffective (i.e. not flying) squadrons in Red. If there are several enemy squadrons showing in red you might want to hit emergency resupply to get more action. The squadrons will replenish pilots and aircraft over time also, so you shouldn't have to go the emergency route too often. At least that has been my experience.

Same for landings, ai just cant handle it. While landing is not an issue because you can land yourself first and avoid that, taking off issue is quite a bummer. I assume that is out of your hand..

Lothar von Richthofen has been trying to transfer in for a week now, someone needs to send a car to the train station to pick him up. Same thing happenned in 56 Sqn, Cecil Lewis kept getting lost on his way to the orderly room. 1

There is air and ground activity. What you choose to do is up to you.

Dusty926 Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 (edited) I'm having an issue with the most current version; Running a COOP campaign with a friend, I select the Stalingrad map, but it uses East1944 instead, with completely different progression and sometimes just different airfields outright. It doesn't seem to actually be using Stalingrad as its basis like it's supposed to. Additionally, by August of 1942, planes in this progression start to accelerate seemingly to Kuban times; Yak-7s, Yak-1bs, 109 G-4s, etc. Edited December 6, 2021 by Dusty926
