I heard if you buy from MS site it will install all over your file system. If you buy it on steam it will all go nicely to a folder.
Can anyone say something about this

I bought from the MS site and it asked where I wanted it and it went there. no issues for me.

You can get FS2020 Standard Edition as part of an Xbox for PC subscription which has a $1 first month. Give it a whirl.  It's blown me away with how cool it has been discovering new places, local and afar. If you take your GA more seriously though it may give a lesser impression, as is clear from the FS forums. It's the first GA game/sim I've ever flown in and just love it.

I have bought the whole chabang.
I do not know why , but I took the deluxe premium extra gavansa pack.
I own every sim , but this is the first in this genre I really like. Got x plane too but uninstalled it after a week

As a fan of World War II, I also bought some DCS WWII contents, but it seems that each airplane comes from a different universe, and the tires of each plane have a friction system on a different planet. The only module I don’t regret buying is Heatblur’s F-14. Although DCS still has the advantage of graphical details, the super slow progress of bug fixes and the sluggish functional integrity make me stay away.

Heatblur and Deka are the only module creators for DCS that actually seem to know what their doing and seemed focused on not nickle and diming their supporters.  Both studios released near complete modules that put the ED-in house Hornet and Viper to shame.  ED actually has poll running to see if folks would be willing to buy a separate module for integrated air defenses to actually works as they should and of course the gullible crowd are like "take my money" on something that should obviously be a core included feature for a modern air combat sim that loves to brag about being the "benchmark" ?

It got easier now, they changed the train physics. before it was almost impossible to keep the hip from falling through, now the train cars are more solid. Physics can still be fancy at times, though.

I enjoy DCS, but here lately I am pretty frustrated with it as well but for other reasons, so I do not spend near the time with it I spend with IL-2.

My issue is getting my arms wrapped around learning an aircraft. I have well over 100 hours in with the Hornet, and I am still not there.

Oh I have gone through the training, watched some vids, but it all just seems overwhelming to me. Sure I can successfully do carrier takeoffs and landings, starting

from cold and dark. I can navigate, and do a little weaponry. But after all these hours, I still don't feel I could have a chance at successfully flying a campaign with it. And that is where

my real desire is, hence where my frustration lies.

So even though I have purchased maps and what not, it is kind of on the back burner for now with me.

I

I hear you. This is why I stick with choppers and Harrier. I really could have been smarter with all my purchases.
now rumors has it we are getting the mossie, and Apache. Together with the Hind and Kiowa I will strugle not being active again

Apparently the OV-10 Bronco isn't going to happen. :(

But the Pucara looks like a good replacement.

Not sure if I'll get the Hind, but I'm thinking about it.

I would probably be all over the Apache.

I need to get back into the KA-50, I did learn all of it at one time and would be interesting to see how much I retain.

Been a few years though.

Too effective for me, like 109 in GB. Too sleek too perfect and no charm. But I buy it

As DCS gathers dust alongside FS20... but there was just a nice update. A few different versions of the P-47, two kinds of rockets, and a whack of fixes for the Harrier and F-18.

Not too shabby.

I am busy. I be back when my head is straight and time available. I am in a chopper mood

Took a quick flight to check out the new toys on the Harrier that came with the update and it seems my FPS has gone way up. I don't think I changed any settings, but I was getting really good framerates.

Anyone else notice a bump?

Mavericks and Harms for the viper now too

No Viper here, but my Hornet got some new toys as well.

One hell of a flightsim feast these days. Getting tough to remember all the controls.

"Okay, that switch centers the view in FS20, bombs an orphanage in DCS, and speed dials the hookers in Il2. I think that's right."

Yeah that is my problem and having memory issues now does not help.

I have taken a bit of a break from DCS for now, but will dig back in here before too long I am sure.

Have not given up on learning the Hornet, just somewhat frustrated.

I took a brake and it has lasted for month.
Today I uninstalled GB. Difficulties with msfs 2020 made me reinstall it and I needed that space on that drive. I simply believe in staying away to the urge get really big. I am happy 2020 came along so I got something to fly. Cod demand too much time for casual flying.

I agree it is fantastic, just not for me. SP career is not playing out as interesting. MP is if possible even less realistic.
But that is because I love flying big and slow, for others I can see the joy.
regarding big and slow, in order to be interesting, it need to be a bit challange in it. Witch it is not, except being a fat juicy unprotected target. The interphase is simply too simplified  and pushing a A and correct make you hit a ship from 5 k altitude 5 out of 6 times. For DCS. You can only fly that many times a mission.
So I need a long brake from it all

Your and my definition of good SP content must be quite different.

Between PWCG, the Career Mode, and Scripted Campaigns I find the SP content quite good and right up my alley.

But I think maybe you like to create your own missions , whereas I prefer to fly campaign style where I don't have to create anything.

I do not even care for the Quick Missions.

For people liking fighters I get your point. But except from a few scripted campaigns ground pounding is repeatable in career and sometime impossible to survive with current ai

PWCG Campaign offers some pretty good ground pounding missions even in fighters.

I am flying a P-51 Campaign and am getting a nice mix of ground attack missions in it. More air-air, but still a nice mix of ground pound missions.

Usually has accompanying air cover support.

The new P-47 update with the rockets is great. DCS WWII is getting better and better. And definitely the best WWII map around.

So very happy that DCS does not work in my computer. Head would soon explode in trying to learn two different sims and thinking on which to focus, which is better now and which is better next year and the year after next year. Just need to close my eyes and hold my ears tight with my hands and yell CoD is the best repeatedly ?

Cod is very good if you have a evening to fly it. But for a mission DCS is by far best

Yeah, that was and it seems still is the only bad thing in CoD, if we ignore the lack of VR support. BoX have like major upgrade regarding that with the RPish campaign. In single player campaign needs hell lot of things to make it more interesting because the actual flying against and with CPU is so very limited when compared to real pilots.

You are not that much depending on ai in campaign on missions I fly.
In KA 50 you get your mate to do exactly what you want him to do within meters. If he get shot down, you simply put him too close. In other modules thay do take away some airdefences. I have not flown ww 2 campaign. DCS got commands that works and that make the difference

DCS is putting in some decent effort. The last update fixed a bunch of stuff and added a bunch more. The Harrier got some real love.

I would love to have that plane but the systems are just too complicated. Maybe if it's on sale one day I'll get it for the simpler stuff.

 lol

I love that airplane.

I'd love to know how to fly the A-10 and be able to boot up a sortie on a whim.

What I'm unable/unwilling to do is devote the time necessary to actually learn it, and then maintain that knowledge to boot....I just can't do it.

Goes with most jets.

When I build the new rig, depending on what else is happening or not happening, I may get the F-14. I think I can handle that one as long as I stay out of the back seat.

As of right now I have no good reason to install DCS and no time, but we'll see.

I appreciate that, but that bird never really called to me.

The F-14 does...plus carrier ops.

I'm going to need carrier ops at some point FFS.

I have to admit, the carrier ops with the F-18 are pretty sweet. And ya gotta have carrier ops. Cinematically speaking, though, the F-14 is about as good as it gets. I tried the demo during that great free trial period and the Tomcat is maybe the best looking plane I've ever seen. I'm not crazy about the cockpit layout, just doesn't sing to me. But the graphics are the best.

The Harrier, though, is just plain fun. VSTOL, carrier ops, excellent ground pounding, fast enough to cool, and a pretty sweet looking cockpit. So far it's my favorite.

DCS make fantastic trailers, trouble is, I get all excited, jump in the plane then realise I don't have a ******* clue what I'm doing!
Just not enough hours in the day to learn them properly.
