More Blue for the Greentails

Please join in congratulating the following pilots for their accomplishments over the trenches.

ceprusPLM.png.41afe4a128600ffd5e7346210f2f1d08.pngJ5_Koennecke had seven scores in one sortie to attain his 20th in a single virtual life, earning him the Pour le Merité.  S! and congratulations!

In other news, the following updates from over the front were read in Kaiser Commendations and Englander Despatches:

US93_Larner is reported to be suffering the airmans equivalent to shell shock, the result of some close calls due to shoddy workmanship at the Spad factories.  His streak  of 114 live pilot scores in a single life remains the highest along the front, but perhaps not for long....

1PL_Sahaj is still hunting Bosch, increasing his score another eight up to 90 live pilot scores in a single life, as he climbs the ladder of the honor roll to perhaps become the greatest PvP virtual scoring Entente or Central pilot on the Western Front!

Congratulations J5_Koennecke.  If you keep this up, they'll let you have your own personalized Albatros skin in about four or five years.

Nr. 5 for Jagdstaffel 5!

Please join in congratulating the following pilots for their accomplishments over the trenches.

ceprusPLM.png.41afe4a128600ffd5e7346210f2f1d08.png

I am pleased to be able to report that J5_Bäumer, Adjutant of Jasta 5, has earned the Jasta it's fifth coveted Pour le Merité in Flying Circus.   During the past two tours, starting in early May, eighteen live two-seaters and two fighters have fallen.  In a satisfying twist of history, the fact that this is the fifth Blue Max awarded to a Jasta 5 pilot, makes this accomplishment all the more sweet to taste.  This also marks the fifth of the last eight PLM to go to a Jasta 5 Greentail.  Thank you to all the Greentails who have assisted and share in this success!  Prosit!

1PL_Sahaj fell from the skies this week after adding two to the history books, with an ending tally of 92 pilot vs. pilot scores.

The FC Flugpark parser can be visited at http://stats.jasta5.org:8000/en/ . See your own pilots earned awards by finding and clicking on your pilot name in either the pilot ranking tab or your squad tab and then the "awards" tab. The list below will be updated to include new pilots meeting the 20 victories requirement, involving live pilots*, provided proper supporting documentation/evidence is submitted.  Other awards may be earned and displayed in the Flugpark for scoring victories in combination of Person vs. Person (PvP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Congratulations Bäumer and Könnecke!

My already several times overstreched luck ended yesterday with which must have been a direct head shot at low altitude in a fight vs 2 x D.VII's and an incoming Dr.1 and another D.VII or Pfalz. I was engaged with the two already riddled D.VIIs and I am pretty sure I would have gotten them but incoming Dr.1 got that one lucky shot so I was not able to crash land. Etzel in the Dr.1 got that deadly one shot from ca. 30-40m. Credit goes to him.

That was great fun though and I am looking forward to build the next streak! This is kind of fun to play that way.

No!!!

Well, 92 is an outstanding score, and more than several lifetimes for a camel pilot...I hope your next one makes it into triple digits!!

Yeah, defintely going for it ☠️?

One question mainly to Bäumer but everyone is invited to answer of course. What about coalition changes during your VL? How will you count the kills let's say for a straight 100 PvP kills VL if someone changed coaltions frequently? Is it just down to kills for each side what recogntion you get? Let's say you have 51 German planes shot down vs 49 Alied at the time you reach 100 but the last 25 planes you took down for the German side, which side's recognition will you earn? What is the rule?

The parser looks at what the side a pilot flew on the majority (not simple majority) of the time and then assigned that award.   I do not believe the side being flown when a award is earned makes any difference other than as to enter into the coalition side calculation along with all the other sortie coalition factors.  The award the parser assigns is the award that goes into this thread.   Of course it's probably best to fly one side the whole time if there is a particular award a pilot is hoping to earn.

Ok, thank you for explaining Bäumer. So to sum up it is a quite unknown territory as to how the parser will calculate the award if you will fly close to 50% v 50%. Also what will happen if you get the Blue Max after 20 kills flying Central and then reach the 40 kill mark flying only Entente? I am curious if there was such a case already.

Again, it all depends on how many sorties you flew for each side out of how many sorties in your VL flown.  It would be possible I suppose to rubber band back and forth but I think that might be difficult but possible.  If you get one coalitions award at 20 and you continue to fly the same "mix" for each side, then I think you should expect the parser to give the same coalition award at 40.

The parser looks like it may do things individually and compartmentalize. Look at Drookasi's awards for the quarter....he's flown both sides as well as bomber and has awards for all. What I didn't see were awards for downing 15 and 20 central planes which I think he has in current life. Perhaps he tilted the machine with all his pinball playing.

Looken zie at zee coalitions metric, ja!?  See?  He's straddling a 50/50 mix so he's getting both coalitions awards.   You can see that right at the top without looking at the coalitions mix.  His coalition "flag" is neutral.   He earned his 15 and 20 awards, which happen to be from Central.   It could be that what coalition you are flying on during the sortie you qualify for an award (OR, OR, OR, OR when the parser parses that mission?)  is the coalition award you receive, IF (IF, IF, IF, IF!) you are in the "neutral" coalition due to the mix of flying both coalitions without a clear side preference.

There is NO way to have the parser award you BOTH coalitions award for the same achievment (i.e. 15 or 20 scores).

I say, fly one side enough to have a coalition flag.  If you are a "neutral", look at it like its a roulette wheel.

The Distinguished Service Order earned by US93_Rummel has finally caught up to him after clerical errors had the award being sent to multiple previous fields at which he was stationed since July 31st.  Congratulations!

In other news, the following updates from over the front were read in Kaiser Commendations and Englander Despatches:

US93_Larner continues to be making calls for better quality control in the war industry, following previously reported close calls due to shoddy workmanship at the Spad factories.  His streak  of 114 live pilot scores in a single life remains the highest along the front.
