But the shine, I only saw your message now, after I finished 3 versions of it. Do you have a picture of Dallas Doll with a way for me to compare the shine? The only picture I found, the underbelly invasion stripes were different from the other sources and it looked like it was cloudy. So, I based all the shiny stuff on the other P-51s. Here's the link, until I fix the metallic shine with a picture: https://www.mediafire.com/file/hueu7o5c1y5x6m3/Dallas_Doll_414_495_A_V1-_B_V1-_C_v1.7z/file Spoiler Edited October 17, 2019 by DrJester 1
AKA_Big10 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Would it be hard to make two and have one with it on both sides and one with just the left and let the user choose? I have no idea if it would had been on both sides.

JGr2/J5_W0LF- Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Hey Craig Is the front of the nose of this painted mustang suppose to have a shine on it...Im not sure but your alpha layer may not have the nose on it...or maybe its just the angle of the pic!

CraigNT55 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 (edited) Hey SpitfireJoe, Thanks for your comments! I'll be posting it up soon. Cheers, - CraigNT Hey Bugsy, I'm under the assumption that any non-camouflage paint used by the USAAF in the ETO would be gloss. Especially that color of light green, so I purposely created the Alpha to depict the nose boss and cowl to be glossy. If there is any info or data that refutes that assumption I'd be very interested in seeing it. I did the same gloss value for the bright red stripe on the fuselage. I did read somewhere that the olive drab on the fuselage was RAF paint so I displayed that as flat matte through the Alpha channel. Cheers! - CraigNT Edited October 18, 2019 by CraigNT55 1
336th_Ripper* Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 It's a real pain in the ars aligning the three layers in the prop hub! I will get it done, and then again for the different images of the spinning prop!

In the end I had to place some numbers on them, turn on the wire frame(barely helped) and do multiple resaves until I could get it fixed. 1
336th_Ripper* Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 Hey Guys I decide to work on Frenesi first since I can then cut out the Camo for Happy jack Go Buggy. I am not 100 % satisfied with the checkered yellow and red. I have tried to use various blurs to remove the pixilation. Any other suggestions to smoothen it out ? 1

Are you upscaling an existing image and using that or did you make the check pattern yourself?

Rjel Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 This will be my first P-51D contribution. There's still some work to be done but it's shaping up pretty well. It's a plain skin compared to a lot of E.T.O. Mustangs but it's pilot, Col. Donald J.M. Blakeslee was anything but. A man I've long admired for his leadership, courage and endurance, I find it sad his name rarely is mentioned along side those who were his contemporaries. Few equaled his accomplishments. 3
336th_Ripper* Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Just putting on the final markings. Thanks to @szelljr for his checkered scheme. The two tone prop was a challenge but is perfectly lines up now! The video below was the WIP to line them up!
Mysticpuma Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) Would anyone be interested in creating a couple of 325th FG Mustangs? The first is "Mary Mac" which was Fuselage No.40 flown by Gordon McDaniel. This I think will be very challenging as the tail has the full Checkerboard markings. I have included an image of #40 before the noseart and cockpit text were updated. Also a reference images of the full checkertail pattern. The next is of #35 "Helen" flown by 325th Checkertail Ace, Art Fiedler. It had "Helen" on both sides of the nose, the short Checkertail, Red outer colour to the fuselage numbers and for a short time on top of the wing, above the guns, on the Starboard was written "Hells" and above the Port guns "Bells" in the same font as the noseart. Art had 8 Victory markings on the aircraft. Thanks in advance if anyone can take on the challenge, cheers, Mysticpuma. Very good work ! ... thanks also "ICDP" who did a very important job!
