Gr3y Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Hello, could you recommend a atlas/book about various planes used during WWII with their modifications and paint schemes? In Skins and Templates section there are often pictures from some English and Polish titles, do you know the names? I would prefer atlas over book - so max information in few words. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
InProgress Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 The only thing that comes to my mind are osprey books. It's not really what you are looking for but they do describe certain planes, their versions, lots of pictures and some camo art is there too. 1

Gr3y Posted June 25, 2019 Author Posted June 25, 2019 (edited) @InProgress Thanks mate, gonna check it out : ) @Feathered_IV Looks exactly like something I wanted! Definitely must have. Also I have found these, easily available in Europe: Japanese Aircraft of World War 2 Allied Fighters 1939-1945 Allied Bombers 1939-1945 , waiting for delivery? Edited June 25, 2019 by TrueGrey

LOL, I have two copies of this book - both in pristine condition. The foldouts are incredible.

Thumbed through it once but I've never had a proper look through it yet. It's a shame I never met him, because from what I've seen and heard he was quite into military history (himself being a diver in the Royal Navy during WWII in the Pacific). 1
Tyberan Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Kagero do a lot of books on paint schemes https://sklep.kagero.pl/category/en/ksiazki-topdrawings Not sure how accurate some of them are however. 1

That's why I keep saying that thrift stores are a goldmine when you re looking for books on WW2 aviation...

Gr3y Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 (edited) @Tyberan Thanks for the tip, but when I ordered "The Great Book Of World War II Airplanes" for 30€, the 20€ for 28 pages feels bit too much. @Semor76 Thanks mate, but they were already dispatched, so I should get them in couple of days and I am old fashioned, so need to feel the paper in my hands Edited July 2, 2019 by TrueGrey 1
