Yeah, I've seen that one. I had two photos bookmarked at one point that featured the diagonal blade stripes and then deleted the links after I had finished texturing. I really should hang on to that stuff longer as I can't even remember the keywords or what I Googled that initially brought me to them. Ugh...

JG 1 Fw 190s. See Mombeek. Vol. 3, page 277, Black 2 of I./JG 1, Greifswald early November 1944

also page 287, Fw Josef Gold of II./JG 1 (6th JG1, somewhen early 1945)

Hello @sevenless
The information is kindly provided by @Madcop , and I think this is the book.

Thanks. Yes the two Crandall books, that is what I meant. Got confused with Caldwell who wrote the JG 26 diary.

I hadn't actually seen those. However, the link you provided does have a 109 with the same pattern. Maybe that's where I got the concept from and mistakenly applied a similar pattern to the D9? If you come across any more reference material for the 109 let me know.

Will do, although I have to say I have never ever seen that on a Bf 109 of any kind before I saw that pic myself.

I have, but it looked like a G6 or possibly a G10. It was hard to tell given the low resolution of the photo which made identifying the rudder almost impossible.

@E69_julian57  Ola M8 !  Your work on JV44 and other Doras is OUTSTANDING as usual !

Now I'm working on weiss 1 of JV44 but can't find actual images, only a artwork from AeroDetail.

Not sure of Historical accuracy, I'm asking if you or someone else can share a photo of the real plane (if exist)

any help is much appreciated !

Thats because their drawings aren't even the correct aircraft for the personal insignia.

That white 1 didn´t exist. Best reliable source on JV44 Sachenberg Schwarm is Crandall. Wuebke flew red 3. And I wish we would have a D11 in the game for red 4.

@VA_SOLIDKREATE thanx for your 190d template, it’s a great piece of work and indeed very useful .

@sevenless  thanx m8 !

thank you very much for confirming what I have long suspected. Never trust blindly in an artistic representation, much less a decal sheet. I have Jerry Crandall's book and a lot of other documentation on the 190D9 and I was hoping there was some unknown photographic evidence of this elusive white 1.

Anyway, even if fictional skins aren't my favorite genre, I've always liked this white 1, will it be worth sharing?

Thank you again for your attention and help and apologize @E69_julian57 For briefly hijacking your thread.  Love your skins so much, keep up the good work !

^ That is a really strange one, given the time frame. Are there any photos showing this particular plane?

This one makes me think of some early 1945 April's fool.....but I can't see the arrester hook !

I could be wrong of course...?

It is a fantasy sketch from adlerhorst-hangar.com.

You are absolutely right that it is fictitious, I thought the same, a lot of markings for that time.
It caught my attention

Hello,

Fresh from the A-8 thread, I come now with an idea for a D-9, but I'm not 100% sure about accuracy... perhaps the legend himself @Madcop could assist?

Below is a profile of a D-9 allegedly belonging to Oblt. Oskar Romm, group commander of 4./JG 3, during his later days in action. However, a few Google searches later I became skeptical of this profile as I found many other D-9s with similar markings, all purported to be mounts of the aforementioned Gruppekommandeur

Any and all insights on this topic are welcome.

Thanks for your kind comment! :good: You are right about the canopy, it is so racy looking. I kept meaning to use it but am on auto pilot as usual. Excuse for another screenshot though..

@Flowbee,

Very nice skin you made there as always!

Only the green 9 and green stripe look a bit weird, like radioactive green.

Could I make a request please?

Would it be possible to change the green 9 for a black or red or blue 9? Or just change the green for another green color?

The skin was of Willi Retschke's Ta152 Stab JG301 and although I also think that RLM 25 Light Green is an eyesore it is the appropriate historical color. Tell me what color you would like and I'll do that for you. I think black or red might have been used in this situation were Stab green wasn't going to work or was unavailable.

Really appreciate your help here flowbee.

I believe that the color black would be a nice fit on the fuselage.

By the way, did you see the interview with Willi Retschke on YouTube?

Sorry, just saw your reply and thanks for the video which I will check out now. Here is an idea I had based on my favourite colour for numbers. It is the colour I use in PWCG but I've seen it used quite often in artist impressions.

Here is the black one.

Wow, great video that I haven't seen before. Very informative and surprising given those very long wings. I hope we get the Mosquito Willi is talking about and not the cripple we've had in the past.

I'll knock up the dark green 9 version as well having seen it at the end of the video.

Well this is my favourite version. I tried without the black background shading but it didn't look right.

I think all of them are a better choice than RLM 25. Good call.

Wow, you did 3 different colors! I will try them all and see which one fits best. Thank you very much for your time and help!

You mean the Ta152?  Yeah, I hope the devs will make it later on. According Willi Reschke is was an amazing A/C and very hard to beat.

The TA152 C & H in IL-2 1946 weren't very dominant. I guess there is little useful information in order to make a simulation of them.

The mosquito will be a great add-on and I hope too that they make it right.
