Thanks for that info….  AND the juicy tip on editing the mission for the map.

‘Thanks for all you are doing on this (and TC).  Love’ em both!

I'm having an issue with BF110s. I want to make a mission where a flight of BF110s, with me as lead, or as part of the flight, attack an airfield. I can't seem to get them to attack any objective. They fly to it and then run off. I'm always left bombing alone and telling the flight to engage ground targets doesn't seem to do anything. I'm using attack instead of bombing. I was hoping the flight would loiter around and kill ground targets a bit before RTB.

Using V49 and ok except the skins I choose for red and blue flights on both sides don't work.

Any suggestions what's wrong anyone?

Thanks. This definitively used to work before, so I'll investigate. Do you happen to have the config.ini or logfile?

I did a quick test and when I look in the mission editor the skins are set correctly. When I start the game, none of the skins show up. Not sure if this is just EMG issue; will have to investigate.

It's a bug, I have to add the folder to the skin path. Thanks for reporting, it will be fixed soon.

I have fixed the bugs that have been found so far.

Version 50 is now out:

Release Notes Version 50

-Changed Attack logic: smaller attack area, increased attack timer, lower altitude on attack zone

-Optimized Airfield target: Some vehicles now mixed with the static planes so will be attacked by AI.

-Added anti-armor loadout for specific planes: Typhoon, Hurricane, Il2, Bf-110, Ju-87, Hs129

-Fixed bug: If you selected one side in Cooperative, both sides were available

-Fixed bug: Objective success wasn't set to correct coalition for WW1 maps

-Fixed bug: Chosen skin would not show in game

@SYN_Vander Something fishy going on. I downloaded the latest zip (it was named v50), but when running it, the banner shows v49 and an "ad" telling me to go and download a new version.

It looks like to config file is set to v49 still...

Oh duh.. forgot to update the version number in config. Just replace 49 with 50 in your config.ini. I will update the zip.....Done.

First, thanks so much for your hard work on this! What a huge difference it makes in terms of adding variety to the game.

My problem: I downloaded v.50 and generated a couple of missions successfully into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Missions. The file structure and file sizes seem consistent with other missions which I generated with older versions of the Easy Mission Generator. However the newly-generated missions are not showing up in the Missions screen within the game itself.  Missions generated in V.47 and previous versions continue to be listed in the Missions screen in the game and play without any issues.

Easy Mission Generator v.50 was installed right after the latest update to BoS, so I'm not sure if the game update is contributing to this problem. Very much appreciate anyone's help, and thank you!

I am having the same issue with v50. The files are being saved to the mission folder, though they don't seem to show up in game.

Thanks for all the updates! I'm really looking forward to checking out the updated scenery by @Hamaha15. I really love this cooperation! It's just so great to see the maps slowly improve a bit, they really need it :)

@SYN_Vander
I just wanted to drop in and send my thanks and appreciation for your hard work and efforts in keeping the EMG alive.

My small community uses this tool on a weekly basis, and without fail it provides us with excellent missions against the AI. The updates from v49 and v50 are awesome, especially setting multiple objectives and enemy aggressiveness etc.

I am starting to dabble in the world of mission editing myself now, however I think the EMG has been instrumental in our group staying in the air for some time.

Thank you again!?

Guys can I state the obvious.

Files- config , custom pl , maps.json  put into folder, mark it something like - mission editor v50

So as they show up along with media and template folders when you go into Full mission builder

press tools , down to resave all missions in folder , find your 3 folders, then click ok for each one

                                               worked for me.

One query I have you may all be able to help me with, is the victory conditions of the missions.

I sometimes find that, for example if you are intercepting a bomber formation, if you shoot down or damage one bomber then it starts the Victory condition being true, and the mission end timer begins.

Where do we edit the victory conditions? I thought it was a preset at 50% damage of the objective etc. Having a scout in the editor myself now and apologies if this has been answered previously. Thought someone may know very quickly ?

Is there any way to change modifications for the whole flight? So for example the typhoon gets bombs instead of rockets or spitfire clipped wings? ? thx

@Sandmarken

Should be able to change this when you are spawning in, on the plane setup page.

The payloads/loadouts of the aircraft are not restricted from my experience with EMG, therefore in MP each person can have a different loadout, or in Single Player same situation, select your setup/fuel/skins etc, then apply and fly.

Ahh haha apologies.

From my limited knowledge, probably open the file in the mission editor and have a look at the group. Somewhere in the advanced details you will be able to select the payload options for each aircraft.

Don't think the EMG has that option inside it, however I only use it to make dogfight missions for MP (one side player vs AI).

Missions and startup.cfg files attached, but I'm not sure where to find the log file you asked for (there are no logs in my Logs folder, for instance).

Thanks for looking into this! (and I'll post the log file if you can tell where to find it.)

Tried that, didn't work. Generated missions still do not show up in the in-game mission screen. Not so obvious, apparently.

The config.ini and mission_generator.log will give me the best clues what is going wrong.

I just unzipped your mission to my missions folder and it works fine on my end.

Try deleting the mission tree cache file in your \data folder: mtreecache.eng

Anyone else having issues where in creating a mission in EMG v50 for dogfight mode, for example enemy bombers to intercept, they are not being created?

Think it has happened on a few of my more recent missions.

I would create a flight of B-25s for example escorted by P-51's, then have them set as on runway at a far back Airfield. Their objective is somewhere in my lines.

I opened up a few generated missions and I could see the escort flight, and the ambient AI patrols etc, but no B-25s within the Primary objective group, only Waypoints and the Airfield location.

Are they spawned in another way?

I noticed this also as I have been using EMG for about a year now, and previously I would sometimes Add more aircraft to the formation, just to scare the hell out of my guys coming across a "large" bomber formation. When doing this I was able to actually see the AI objective flight on the map in the ME.

EDIT:

I tested creating the same mission in Co-Operative mode rather than dogfight, and it has added the aircraft to the "blue allied flight" in the Player flights. It appears that, at least for me, when creating missions in dogfight mode and selecting what side the mission will be played from, the actual objective blue and red flights on the opposite side are not being generated.

Thank you for clarifying! The config.ini and mission_generator.log are attached, as well as a missions folder with the last mission I tried creating.

I have previously tried deleting the mtreecache.eng and the ctreecache.eng files, and then recreating a mission with EMG. Still no joy after trying that step.

So there is nothing wrong with the mission as I can just put it in my mission folder and it will show up fine.

That leaves....is the install folder correct? Or is there some permission issue? Can you run the EMG as admin? I'm just guessing here.

Thanks Vander. Let me know if you want my missions files, or at least I can follow the same process and write it down for you, just to ensure I am not doing something stupid at my end.

I definitely have not changed tact from what I was doing in V47/v48, so I believe it may be some conflict with the addition of multiple objectives, or selection of ambient AI levels/aggressiveness.

Certainly I am having issues where if the main objective specified in a dogfight mode mission is to intercept aircraft of the opposing blue flight, these are not being spawned in, but the mission objective group is there with waypoints etc.

Note that we only use one player side, the other side is AI.

Don’t won’t to pile on, but I agree also.  Mission last night was generated with the AI Ambient enemy aircraft, but the 2 flights of AI enemy aircraft did not appear at anytime.  Maybe they crashed on takeoff.  One or or members said he saw some wreckage of a 190.

Yeah, I can confirm the bug. For Dogfight mode with one player side only. Now let's see how to fix it.

Please try this version, it should be fixed: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AlP8FGO1qLwsYI24vVeXDLmLedr3MYCC/view?usp=sharing

One choice to make though: Currently if you select 'start in air'  for Dogfight it will spawn you in the air over your airfield. This is not very useful. Shall I make it so that I create a spawn point in the air just before WP 2? Just as with single and cooperative? It will make things more consistent.

Hi @SYN_Vander,

Thank you for looking into this so quickly and putting a quick fix out. I will do some testing at my end in advance of my saturday night sortie session which I use EMG for.

I personally do not use Air Starts, as we prefer to laugh at each other trying to take off, however what you propose seems sensible enough in terms of keeping it consistent across the board.

I did only use air starts as a test to see if the issue in v50 was related to ground spawns on the AI side etc.

I think this is fine. it'll solve the issue of enemy flights spawning already close to the objective, right? this'll make intercept missions work much better I think. WP2 spawn could be used for the "Forward air spawn" option perhaps?

Mission Briefing file includes instructions for Blue Flight, but, instructions for Red Flight are not there.  I’m cutting and pasting the mission section into the *.eng file as a work around.

I use air start when I want to just have a quick instant action experience, so less distance to target is preferable. Thanks for all the work!
