You really should just put it in the air start for people to meme about in it. Would be really nice to test the rockets out on objectives. I did not take damage. Plus the artillery on the German side was set for allied so every time we hit it we got friendly fire.

After a certain time another recon plane appears in inventory, so your theory may be partially true. I'm not sure I've heard of someone taking the second plane causing plate damage in the first plane. You should still be able to land it safely and complete the mission, get credit etc. to update the map for secondary targets. We'll see what he says about that.

I did land the plane safely but did not get the targets up. That was the second recon plane I took up, first one I propped it on take off. Wonder if that might have been the cause?

No but they will see on "radar" the number of planes within range of the nearest airfield to the recon area, and this usually - but not certainly - means a recon is there. Some people will most likely spawn or head there there to hunt you. 1
JGr2/J5_Baeumer Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 (edited) Announcing some exciting new improvements/features for the Flugpark Parser beginning on or shortly after Jan 1, 2022. link to parser: http://stats.jasta5.org:8000/en/ Disconnect Penalty Player Driven Trucks/Tanks Scoring Split Rankings (player split ranking by plane group/type) Global Aircraft Stats Adjustable Bonuses and Penalties Note: As part of these upgrades, global and leader-board statistics will be recalculated and be based on object scoring instituted in fall 2020. This is when scoring was changed from very high point values to the current point values of the past year. This will mean that everyone is scored the same/fairly. The middle three are fairly self explanatory. However some detail for the disconnect and Adjustable Bonuses and Penalties seems warranted. First the Disconnect Penalty: A player who has disco'd in order to: a) eliminate a flight back to base, b) rob another player of a shootdown, c) to save a streak or virtual life, will understand that those behaviors will no longer provide the outcome they desire. The downside is that anyone who has a legitimate disco due to an unstable internet connection after receiving damage will suffer penalties. It is estimated that legitimate disco's account for a small percentage of the total number of disconnects. It seems appropriate to state something often cited in campaigns: players, not server operators, are responsible for individual player connection quality. Please read on for more details. The following is a description by the author of this enhancement: "1) If player disconnected and someone damaged his airplane, player who damaged him will get that kill (like its now in game but now parser will also credit the kill). 2a) When player disconnected, and his airplane is damaged short time before disconnection, his sortie is considered captured sortie. Server host can set what that time can be. This situation has a high probability of intentional disco, to avoid getting killed/captured. Now with this option player will not be able to avoid getting his virtual life to end, K/D lowered, ranks points lowered and so on... Additionally server host can set at what amount of damage to airplane this option activates. 2b) When player disconnected, and his airplane is damaged, but damaged occurred long time before disconnect ( more then time server host set), his sortie will just count as normal disconnection. So players who received damage to airplane, long time ago before disconnection happened in that sortie, don't get additionally punished like intentional disconnecters. As probability that he did this intentionally is not that high. 3a) If players airplane is not damaged, and disconnection happened short time after take off, disco sortie is turned into bailout sortie. This one is good if you have that any disco sortie ends players virtual life (like on WoL for example). There is big probability that player didn't disconnect intentionally short time after take off while his not damaged and over his front, so why punish him with end of his virtual life if it can be avoided by this setting. Server host can define time for this option in servers. 3b) If players airplane is damaged but damage is done to it outside of time set by sortie_damaged_disco_time, and disconnection sortie length was inside time set by sortie_disco_min_time, then that disco sortie is turned into bailout sortie also. 4) *Not able to do from what i know, POS on disconnect is (0,0,0,0 - post if you know way to do it): Make that when player disconnected, and no damage is done to his airplane and his airplane position at time of disconnect was over friendly side, his sortie will be considered like he bailout, and if it happened over enemy side its considered as normal disco." JGr2/J5_Baeumer Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Happy to say that the parser update is complete and successful. Lots of cool data to peruse now on the Flugpark. The only thing we weren't able to complete was a recalculation of 2020 data using new point scoring. Another attempt to complete the recalculation will be made soon. In the meantime enjoy the new data. Don't forget to play with the filter drop down menu as well as the plane type filter at the bottom of some pages. Also drill in to your sorties and you can see bullet hits on you by type plus more. Hopefully someday we will have the ability to filter by AI/PvP/both as well as get scoring for back seat gunners. 1 1

The Flugpark now has randomized weather mission to mission that is based on seasonal parameters. Also the time of day is randomized but follows the familiar morning, afternoon, evening sequence while alternating across the two current maps, Lens and Bapaume. This is a special help to our mission building team, especially as we prepare for 1C's introduction of additional maps and seasons in the not too distant future. Special thanks to J2 Nobiwan for his collaboration while tweaking the work found on some WW2 servers to fit our needs! 5 1 1

In the last week or so, whenever I choose an air start or airfield start, while I'm offered the option of setting up my chosen aircraft - I usually reduce the fuel load, and dispense with temperature guards etc. (as I usually don't last long enough for them to be of any use ?) - I'm no longer presented with the interface to do so, just a nice view of my aircraft. So I can't alter convergence, fuel load, sights etc.. Feel free to call my an idiot if I'm missing something obvious.

SeaW0lf Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Today I saw something odd with the parser. I had a sortie, took some damage, landed and repaired the plane, rearmed and refueled. Took off again (second sortie), got into a ram and the parser is giving a kill to the player who got some shots on me in the first sortie (plus the one that I got into a ram in the second sortie). Is that a bug or it is that way? If I get shot down in a hypothetical fourth sortie, being using all along the service area to take off again, I will award a kill to four players, three of them that did not really shot me down? It cannot properly detect if you landed and repaired, and so will count it as getting shot down. It looks like it counted you as killed by someone from the first sortie, and awarded you the kill for the person involved in the ram. 1

Comparing the sortie logs, the first player had no involvement in the second sortie. He was just awarded a kill out of the blue. I always try to land at the airfield [with the windsock] to avoid giving any unnecessary kills, especially when it is a classic sortie and you return all banged up. But in this case we can avoid it by simply not repairing the plane. No biggie. Thanks for the feedback. I was just wondering if it was an occasional bug.

There is a certain time limit that has to pass until someone you shot at doesn't count as your kill anymore when he ditches, leaves the server or dies otherwise after combat. 1
SeaW0lf Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 I would like to report that while we were waiting for the server to be fixed, some of us parked, at least one player came to Flaucort to strafe the parked planes. I was killed. I'm not sure what will be made of the stats, since some kills right after we found out that the server was locked weren't counted, but at this point everyone knew that we could not log off from the game. Some of us just landed and parked to wait for a response. I did not see flak or AA either. We were just chatting and asking what to do. Then they kept trolling on chat. Took me a while to realize that most people had closed the game through Task Manager. 1
JGr2/J34b_Matthias Posted September 6, 2022 Author Posted September 6, 2022 A patch has been pushed to the server for the Bapaume and Lens maps which I believe will fix the root cause of mission stablity issue(s) that has been manifesting at irregular intervals on the server. Sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but this was a case where some cool shiny toys we got from previous patches and hooked up apparently had unintended/unknown impacts of use. 2 1
