Marvel Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 @E69_julian57, mate, but is it possible JG2 emblem was this?: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagdgeschwader_2 While on the 190 you share there are the JG1 emblem? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagdgeschwader_1_(World_War_II) Ciao! M.
E69_julian57 Posted January 31, 2024 Author Posted January 31, 2024 (edited) Hello @Marvel You are right, I got confused with the previous skin. I think the JG 2 fw 190 a8 did not carry the shield at that time. That shield was used at the beginning and as the war progressed they stopped painting it. If you want to see a shield on the JG2 fw's it would be on the III/JG2 that painted a rooster's head on the engine cowling. PS: I'm looking and I think on the A8 they didn't paint any jg2 shield, but I can paint it fictitiously. Edited January 31, 2024 by E69_julian57

griffon_engined Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 (edited) Julian, some suggestions that I don't seem to recall having been created by you yet (correct me if wrong): Some JG 1 airframes from around the time of Operation Bodenplatte. Of particular interest to me are the green and brown hues that I love to frequently see on these late war birds. I'm not completely convinced that the color schemes on all 3 of these birds are completely accurate, but is there any chance you could make them in a similar scheme as shown, even if it MAY only be semi-historical for one or more of them? E69_julian57 Posted February 28, 2024 Author Posted February 28, 2024 Hello @griffon_engined Sorry for not replying sooner, I am at another address without internet until now. I didn't do any of them, I can do them with some historical freedom. 1
griffon_engined Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 (edited) Hi @E69_julian57 No worries at all. Please take your time, there is certainly no rush from me? Also, just to clarify on my previous statement: "I'm not completely convinced that the color schemes on all 3 of these birds are completely accurate, but is there any chance you could make them in a similar scheme as shown, even if it MAY only be semi-historical for one or more of them?" - what I meant to say more specifically, is the possibility that the RLM colors may be inaccurate on one or more of the above profiles. There may have been different RLM numbers for the IRL birds as opposed to the color profiles; perhaps more gray colors that the green and browns shown in all 3 profiles. But I don't know for sure. It is probably impossible to know for certain what the real colors of these specific airframes were. But my comment has more do do with my thoughts on the RLM colors used, not on patterns or mottling or weathering or anything else. Those characteristics I will leave up to you. But as i said before, I really love the switch to more browns and greens, as well as the more complex camo patterns on these late war birds. And even if not accurate for certain, I still prefer the colors shown in these profiles. Just a thought I had, but beyond that I'll leave it to your discretion! For my WIP Courland Pocket October 44 - May 45 I./ JG54 FW190-A8 Campaign I need a blank / generic skin (without tactical numbers), 1 with swastika and 1 censored without swastika. The tactical numbers I have already defined for 43 missions. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/89556-jg54-courland-pocket-fw190-a8-kurland-kessel-1945-campaign-beta-251024-released/ I have selected currently 6./JG54 (yellow numbers + yellow horizontal line), but because I have read today that I. JG54 was in the Courland Pocket until end of war I could change the tactical markings to this group. Is it possible for you to create the versions of the skin? Many thanks in advance! 1 1 1

jollyjack Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 That A-8 is a mean devil, and it's shooters are a lot more effective blowing up an Il2 than a Mosquito, P51, p47 or Hurricane. Fictional skin, not finished: 2
