Yeah. This would have been a winner. But I am building ? and ? killing windmills on a untouched spot of nature at that time.

What a f***ing nice job I have

I can't do the night ops as i'm not home from work early enough,

But i'll gladly jump into a 262 for ground attack, if not any axis fighter.

Thanks

Done. Be advised that Planeset still in works. Could be a Yak or a I-16 still for the Night Phase...

Not entirely sure what you mean. Have 3 of ya's down for the Day Phase. Only 1 patrol fighter left for Night Phase...

We'll see what happens with this... Having to create 3 dynamic missions within one will certainly be a unique experience for BoX...

Yeah, tell me about it! I'm also making a mission for this with the same idea (dawn/night phase with different objectives and plane sets) and it is quite a bit of work - Trying to have at least 2 objectives for all the plane types, including day and night objectives creates quite a few logic groups which all have to be tested extensively to make sure they work. Its gets busy pretty quickly:

Tip - I'm willing to swap to blue if it evens it a bit. Dont get much chance to fly blue (Kota one sided enough euro hours (and RAF squad of course)).

Still be ground attacker/bomber - just not 262 - eeuch jets eeuch. Would still only be during phase 2

Sorry Red_Cat - its a jet. For me, jets start from lightnings and phantoms, things I worked on. And as I also stretch back to hunters and for 3 surreal weeks Meteors, before that aint for me. No pizzazz before the sixties.

Got to love the Hunter too. :good:

I used to have a few bits from one; it got bent at Chivenor when we were at ATC summer camp there (1970?). Some of the cadets were 'helping' you chaps and came away with anything loose that they were allowed to keep.

Is it possible to arrange a

Air marshall evening

on a future fnbf. Where you appoint two air chiefs that is the only one seeing the targets and know objectives.

I think this would add to realism and I am sure

someone gladly take upon themselves this task

BB.

As mentioned before the planeset will depend upon a 262 update but I don't expect that before the Convention. So Phase 1 will in all probability not have the Yak-1B as it counterparts are 41', 42' with a couple 43' aircraft thrown in for good measure at the time of this writing. Kuban and Bodenplatte aircraft to follow up in Phase 2.

==============================================

Okay folks Axis needs Phase 1 and Phase 2 Drivers. Allied still has some slots available for Phase 2.

hiya red_cat

I must be a bit older then, I was signed up by then.

I was radar engineer at Brawdy 79-80ish, had hunters and hawks plus a couple of meteors. Bit of a come down going there from a front line squadron. Working on them tends to change your appreciation. Was there when one crashed in Tintagel, accident investigators phoned up asking why we still had radio active valves. My answer made me something of a celebrity for a while.

And if I thought lightnings had been built by a blind designer, playing pin the tail on a donkey, hunters and meteors made them seem like an x-wing.

The bird cage meteor canopy was horrendous, think that was the 2 seater.

Nearest civilisation was New York. I hated it there for various reasons, hey ho it was only 20 months before I managed to escape.

Yeah the night ops were fun and early dawn into the morning is most pleasing for myself visually.

Perhaps next time can set it up so there will be more nightfighter vs nightfighter action along with the necessary recon objectives.

Had a blast too, especially flying the po-2 for the first time together with Flashy as wingman.

One thing i would like to suggest is, we need a tad bit more time for future recon missions.

Because as far as i know, no one made it back in time, with me actually being very close missing like a minute or two.

As soon as you get damaged, you go from slow to hyperslow in the po-2!

And your suggestion sounds very good too, Tip.

Thanks for the tremendous fun, cya next friday and enjoy your weekend, gentlemen!

Yeaaa, was very pleasant.

Few action during the second one.

First flight, we met 2 Me 109. One bit a little Oscar, then we RTB. The the second flight, we spend our time runing after bad boys, we finally find near the airfield. After a lucky shot, we escape, and patrol around Stalingrad and we've been unable to see german attackers. At the end, we was RTB when two bad boys show us so many interest...

Sounds good, and also the U-2's need more time to get their recons done IMO. Both Jizzo and I ran out of time to complete the tasks and make it back to base in time, and I had to cut my recon short and head for home early, and still didnt make it back before phase 2. So, either the distances need to be shorter, or at least 2 hours allocated to that phase.

On the subject of sortie length don't have a Po-2 so was unable to correctly gauge a demanding distance to have some fun with enough time to land.  We would of been hard pressed with our own recon had the BeeGee patrols or flak put a hole in us as well.
