First, I want to clear up few things
Back in late 2021 we announced that we're working on new, reworked Eastern Front TAW. We've made serious progress on that, but at the same time, we've hit several unexpected obstacles. Overall, that rework turned out to be a bigger challenge than expected and it's still at least few months away. Not only the map rework is time consuming, but there are serious scripting alterations that are a must if we wan't to move forward and make certain features. Kathon is a god of programming, yet even he has a finite output. Our attempts to clone him have failed so far ?
We'll put our best efforts to make it happen, but the sheer amount of work required means it will take a lot of time.
 

Of course we won't keep you waiting that long without anything going on. ?
We plan to launch an Eastern Front campaign. Of course it will be more in line with previous western seasons.
When?
 

The short answer is NEXT WEEKEND. ?
 

The longer one is that's the plan. We still need to work out few things and do some tests, but no matter what, next season is coming soon.
There are some minor tweaks, fixes and updates as always. We'll provide a complete changelog at launch as always.
The most noticeable change will probably be a reduction of map number. Only 5 maps this time, so the campaign will be shorter but more intense and enjoyable.
It is still an 1941-1943 campaign, just without repeating maps. Planeset also has seen some changes. It's now unrelated to certain map. Instead it's related to timeline, so it may change mid-map. This feature was actually made for the major rework, but since it was easy to put it into current system, it made it. We'll see how it will play out.
There are also some tweaks to AAA, changes of TOP5 rules (back to old, dead is dead style) and many more small things. Stay tuned for more info.
 

For now, there's one more important thing.
 

There's a never-ending discussion about team imbalance and as you know we tried to implement some regulations to address this problem. Creating a perfect balance is impossible, especially on a 24/7 server with open registration. However, we can try to do our best to ensure that at least the organized teams will spread more or less  equally between teams. Hopefully at least the bigger ones.
 

Therefore, I ask squadron commanders, to send me a private message (discord or forum), with information about expected number of players, timezone, expected total flight time of the squad (I know it can't be predicted, but a very rough estimate 100h, 500h or 1000h is completely fine).
Plus, of course the side you plan to fly. Please specify whether you will definitely fly on certain side regardless of numbers, or you are open to balance out the teams if needed (provide preferred team anyways). We'll collect that data and help to organize the registration so at least the larger squads will be somewhat balanced.

New eastern TAW campaign starts on Friday 04.02.22 at about 16:00 UTC. 

 

We are still working on some new ideas and decided to run old campaign with some changes:

• Five maps: 2xMoscow [axis->allied], 2xStalingrad [axis->allied], 1xKuban [draw]
• Planeset [eight sets] depends on the date so it's possible that during one map there will be change in the hangar. (Before planeset was changed after each map).
• As on the last western campaigns attacking side starts the map with only few cities but constantly push tanks forward.
• Tank convoys advance close to the enemy city regardless of the defense level.  They stop then and retreat after three missions if defense level is bigger then 85%. (Before tanks stop in the middle between cities)
• AA near depots is invulnerable. Depots should be attacked from high level.
• After death/capture/disco basic planes aren't replenish instantly anymore. They will be replenish after the mission.
• DISCO result if player has disconnection from the server within 5min from the last damage from the enemy AA. 
• TOP5 pilots on the website includes only live pilots.

The Google table does not match the registration. Who to believe?

Please don't look at the red frame. The screen was made for another conversation, but there is no other one at hand.

For example, zerstorer and expert are in the table. But they are not in the registration. Was there a combination of these specializations before the start of TAW? but the table was not corrected?

 Selectable line names are shown in bold in the right table. And these lines are only available to you when registering. The table on the right shows you what kind of plane you can get after selecting your line if you will collect CP, and the table on the left, depending on the map / date, which machine you will receive. Same situation as in the previous Western TAW.

The Pe -2 is a bomber on the TAW, so you can only use it from the rear airfields like the He 111 or Ju 88 on the blue side.

Pe-2 with very limited loadout.

The first 'set' of planes does not have certain more advanced aircraft. They become available starting from set #2, as shown in the table. Same situation for the VVS.

The planeset looks complex at the first glance. There are four lines (right side of the xls file). Each line is defined as different order of types of aircraft (name of the line is often the same as name of the aircraft type)

Example:

Line Messerschmitt gets as first Messerschmitt type, then Jagdbomber type, then Experte type....

 

The Experte type of aircraft on map #3 is Bf 109 F-4. There is no Experte type of aircraft on map #1.

Does this mean that players wouldn't be able to fly for the rest of the mission? Wouldn't be any aircraft in the hangar in the current mission? Does this change the 15 min ban rule?

There are many basic aircraft that are replenish after each mission, but if player destroy all of them then he will not be able to fly till the end of the mission.

Remember that player can get one basic plane by flying a transport sortie.

For now only thing we can do is to delete them so you can register.

 If you have access to these accounts you can fix that on your own, without deleting them, simply by renaming them. Log into your account and you will find that option 'under edit profile'.

The JG1_VVS_Vonrd account is fine as it is and I can log in but the JG1_Vonrd account, I can't log in and I tried all of my normal passwords...Password or user name does not match

My name is already registrated and listed in my sqad even i haven't create registration for new taw nor i booted il2 for weeks.

Also when i try to login it says incorrect login or password, when trying to register it said i already had registrated which i didn't.

 

Must be some register issues carried over from last taw?

The campaign has just begun, but the problem on the blue side is already visible.

I want to ask a question to the blue side. Where are the attackers squads?
at this time, the red side has lost 189 tanks. More than half of them are in just two squads  with a total of 42 pilots. Where are the rest of the attackers out of 540 registered pilots ? Neither numerical advantage nor favorable balance will help.

we will lose the campaign if nothing changes.

Again, the same story with leaving the server in the "cab" position. Why can't this event be tantamount to the death of a pilot? If you need to leave urgently server - jump with a parachute and leave. If just "pilot came out", then "equals death". Maybe the "tricks" will be less, and the server - fairer to honest players?
