SCG_Neun Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I haven't made any yet Badger..but it looks like it is possible...just set to "1"
LLv24_Zami Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Hey Guys, I used this program for ROF and loved it. I haven't tried this for BOS yet but will. I just wanna know can this be used for COOP missions somehow. Im just curious, Thanks in advance! Afaik, it's not possible at the moment. 1
SCG_Neun Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Thanks Zami...saved us some time on this... 1
Tyberan Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Tried this out for the first time today (although used it for RoF). I'm flying the IL2 campaign, first mission was to attack ground troops, after a 70km route there saw a squadron of He111 but they were too high up to attack. Passed an occupied town near a river with flak whilst Allied arty was bombing. The target ended up being an artillery position which was situated at the edge of a large copse of trees, it was protected by light AA. The support of the artillery was situated inside the trees as cover, there was a lot of target most likely about 12 arty pieces and 8-10 trucks, 4 AA, and I think some light tanks because they would die when I straffed them. It was awesome to see such a setup like this, it was much better then the randomly positioned 4 arty pieces in the middle of a field. Well done. The only issues I had was the leader AI, they only dropped bombs and headed home. I'm guessing that the ground Attack AI still needs work by the devs, the last waypoint to land the AI leader kept circling it and would not land. I landed anyway and completed the mission but I'm not sure if its the waypoint type or the AI that was the issue.

It seems there is no requirement for certain number of targets to be destroyed like in stock campaign. So mission is completed when they attack once. Maybe it would be useful to add some requirement for destroyed targets to ground attack missions and force AI to do few more attacks. Or some timer. Ground attack AI in itself is fine IMO. I have never seen AI landing in PWCG missions. They just circle the last WP. I think there is some bug. Edited November 22, 2015 by Zami
Yogiflight Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 I jus twas flying a short escort, about 30km, with 4 FW190. Just before returning to base the He111 and Ju87 were attacked by LaGG and La. After a short fight the He and Ju started circling around the base the LaGG joined them circling some metres above, I could not see the other FW anymore and attacked the LaGGs, that neither attacked the Heinkels and Junkers nor me, not even tryed to defend themselves. So there really are quite some problems with AI behavior.

So there really are quite some problems with AI behavior. I have witnessed this as well. I also think that setting heights does not work every time. A flight initially at 1500 mtrs was manually set by me at 3000 mtrs (to avoid ground fire) but in flight were at 1500 all the time. Changing stuff before accepting the mission is not as simple as I would like it to be. I hope this can be changed. In general; I love this CG and am only flying this, after finishing the vanilla campaign. Great stuff !!!!
FilMit Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Please tell me whether the Russian language in version 1?
PatrickAWlson Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Please tell me whether the Russian language in version 1? Version 1 will not be internationalized. Per takeoff way point - I am going to extend it out to 3KM and up to 500 meters. I am also going to make both parameters configurable to allow folks to play with them and set them as they work best. Release version 1 will be out in a couple of days. 2

Thanks for all the hard work.

Bando Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Great Patrick. Love to see the first installment of what will be a great addition to BO*. Thanks for doing this.

LLv24_Zami Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Thanks a lot Pat! I think you forgot at least the escort mission fix from the list
PB0_Foxy Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Where is V1 available? here : http://www.pwcampaignmanager.com/pwcgbos/web/PWCGBoS.html
Blitzen Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 V 1.0 = ( It did liquidate my previous careers upon install but what the heck, love it anyway!) 1

Taxman Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) Thanks Pat, Never tried this before, but with your help and the great folks here who also lend a hand I am sure it will be up and running. Again and great big "Thank You" from a off liner single player, and an COF . BTW, I will not be able to start util maybe Sunday. But in the mean time I be checking in. LLv24_Zami Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) I made couple of quick Stuka missions with the version 1.0. Strange blue colors in both of them, seen here: Mission file if needed: Missions.zip I also noticed that for the Stuka the first WP distance of 3km is too short. Planes did not reach it and circled back towards it crashing. But since it is adjustable now, I tried 5km on next mission and it worked fine. So I recommend everyone to change first WP distance to at least 5km with Stuka. Edited November 27, 2015 by Zami
PatrickAWlson Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Cool - didn't know I could do bright blue shadows . Seriously - no clue but may be due to using more of the cloud configurations.
Azdack Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Great job thanks very much. Question : in "owned plane" up yet the il16 and P40 are not available as they are in the game himself; will they be available in PWCG as soon as Battle of Moscow will be out? Thanks for the answer.
LLv24_Zami Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) Cool - didn't know I could do bright blue shadows . Seriously - no clue but may be due to using more of the cloud configurations. Now that you mentioned it. I remember all user made missions turning blue when they changed something with mission editor cloud settings earlier this year. So I searched mission making forum and found this: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/19356-how-get-rid-blue-light/?p=304112 I opened the mission posted here in ME and there were no clouds selected in atmosphere options. When selecting any cloud option map returns normal. Edited November 27, 2015 by Zami 2
Reflected Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Thanks for your efforts Pat! For some reason my JG52 career missions still feel the same: takeoff, climb through waypoints, getting jumped by 3x the number of expert Russians and being slaughtered. Never did a flight spawn at our level, or below. In RoF I felt this was more random, and I wasn't always heavily outnumbered.

LLv24_Zami Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Hello work in 0.3 version, but with v 1 released, i got this message : config value not found : Takeoffwaypointdistance here the PWCGerrorlog file Thanks for help Start PWCG from BosCampaign.jar file instead of .exe. Worked for me.
zeufman Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 cannot open the .jar file, it looks for a program, and not open with java
Bando Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 @ Zeufman: I had the same problem. What you need to do to solve this is: Make a shortcut on the desktop (or wherever you like) and start from the shortcut. It worked for me. Good luck!
zeufman Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 same with a shortcut, need program to open the .jar Meanwhile, the PWCGBos.exe in v 0.3 works fine. With v1 , error unable to define Takeoffwaypointdistance
Bando Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Ok, sorry. I do have the same problem, but with the shortcut it went away. If the latest version of Java is installed, I don't know how to help.
PatrickAWlson Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Short version:to all: Use the jar and not the exe. Long version: The exe is created with a program called launch4j. I thought that the exe was created as a reference to the jar - i.e. do it one time and it will always run current jar. Instead it looks like the exe embedded the old version of the software. I will correct this one way or the other in the first bug fix drop. 1

Dagger Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 So I gave this a try today, Set difficulty at custom, wanted auto mix, and map icons, but there is no map icons, either with small map or fullscreen map view. No waypoints either on screen. Something I am missing?
Fazer_Beam Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Pat, I reached November 1st, flying with JG51, FW190. The map is the winter one, snow everywere, but the AI skins remained the standard summer/autumn ones. Is something You have still to add, or I stumped in a bug of sort? Anyway, thank You for PWCG! Fazer.
PatrickAWlson Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 PWCG supports skin transitions but they have to be configured. I have very few skins identified for the units in PWCG. If somebody can match a skin with a unit / time period I will do the configuration.
