Re the game I play SP so yes I am not up to speed with all aspects of the game/sim, I don't believe I made that claim at any point. Placing "FOR ME" in caps obviously did not register.

I've been wanting to get BOM since the initial announcement,  I hope the standard version comes out soon. I don't mind waiting for access and don't mind the unlocks, money is just too tight right now.

 

I feel a bit sad because I wish I could somehow support the devs but 80 is too much for me..

A rough timescale is printed on the BoM page of this site. July is when we start adding the first aircraft for MP and quick missions. Map and campaign will come early next year.

I would assume the server admins will add the bom maps and aircraft into rotation. It would be a mistake to have the early aircraft in missions with the later aircraft. I certainly wouldn't pick any early aircraft in the scenario of the Stalingrad map with all the aircraft from both games. if I was to return to np. I can see that kind of scenario turning more folk away from mp

Personally I really don't expect much from BoM at this point.

 

I know the single player portion will be lacking as it was confirmed that the campaign format would not be altered from BoS. The MP portion will still feature 60 players max, which IMHO is insufficient.

 

Still, I like planes more than any sane man should. I expect to enjoy the first 4 hours spent familiarizing myself with the new BoM planes... but the experience will lack a certain depth that mods traditionally brought in terms of innovation. I do not expect to spend 500 hours in it like I did for CloD or DCS. Not when some overly safe design choices create a pretty, yet hollow and short-lived experience.

For now, the community is nothing like the 1946 one, the game is starting from scratch and the devs need our support to make the game evolve in the long term! Without our support there won't be any real community anyway. It's hard, we would like so many things. Still what we already have is fantastic, and for me worth every penny...

 

For me its like being a pionneer, we have to "volunteer" and be patient, in the end it will pay back.

Why? There are a number of planes from both plane sets that can easily be intermixed without causing any issues.
