Juri_JS Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 All I know is the little information in "Italian Aces of World War 2". I guess more detailed information is only available in books written in Italian.
Habu Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Ok thx, in that kind of Osprey (ace series), the information is very short.
Jade_Monkey Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Are we having any Romanian players on this forum? If yes, here's a single player Bf-109E7 mission that might be of interest for them: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4pg3c6dcihufp5u/Bf-109E7_Grupul7.zip It's a historical escort mission of Romania's elite fighter unit Grupul 7 Vânătoare, that was equipped with the Bf-109E7 during the battle of Stalingrad. Initially I had build the mission only for myself, but because there are no other missions for the Romanian air force I thought it might be a good idea to make it available to the community. The mission starts at Tusov airfield and the target area is at Stalingrad, so the flight times are quite long, but that's how it was in reality. The mission comes with a Romanian Bf-109E7 skin, that needs to be placed in the "data\graphics\skins\Bf109E7" folder. Select the skin in the "plane setup" menue before starting the mission. That was great! I thoroughly enjoyed it! Simple but really fun. I actually managed to down about 6 of them, which rarely happens. The AI was working just right, not absurdly good but not retarded. Great fun, thanks for sharing!
Cybermat47 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) These industrial areas on Moscow's outskirts would be a good target for a Ju-88 night raid. The long transit times from the historical Ju-88 airbases would be worth it If anybody wants to make a mission like that (I lack the skill and the time to learn the skill, unfortunately), I'll be more than happy to help with research etc. Edited August 31, 2016 by Cybermat47
Jade_Monkey Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I made one for Ju88 (daytime). It randomeized objectives between boats+train or industrial complex. It wouldnt be too hard to modify it to make it a night raid.
Toxin1 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Quick P-40 mission (easy). Great atmosphere. Thank you for sharing your missions Jade.
Cybermat47 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Jade_Monkey, I was wondering, why are there 109 F-2s in your 'Intercept transports' mission? They seem a bit out of place in late 1942. That aside, it's a great mission, very enjoyable. You made the airfield look alive, which is just beautiful to see

In general im not a stickler for historical accuracy so i would guess that it was balance/difficulty issue. Or just a random call from my part. Ill take a look tonight.
Thad Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 The cooperative mod, in ROF, works like you build a single mission, except that you put several planes with player instead of one. So, you choose exactly where the plane is on the airfield (like you can use AI on an airfield). When you join a co operative mission, you have slot like in the Old IL2, and you have to choose the slot, and your side, and after, you have access to the map. That Mod don't exist in BoS. Salutations, If creating a coop tank scenario would one do the same thing... ie. put several tanks designated as player instead of just one?
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 can someone make a JU87 training mission? for about 10 people.
TempestV Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) Posting again, this time with the right attachment: "Surviving the raid" with an I-16. Must own BOM to play it. This looks like a pretty interesting mission-but when I load it in the editor to resave (after deleting the MSNBIN File) it only shows an error message in the Editor. Can't save. Last big update I know corrupted missions. Is there any other way I can fix it? I do own BoM. Saw the post where he will update in January. Disregard Edited December 27, 2016 by TempestV
WWSitttingDuck Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Opps, put original post in wrong topic. For those of you who remember Practice Practice Practice from ROF, here is the same thing for BoS. Took the Practice Practice Practice missions from ROF (credit to Sensenmann for the original mission set), and made them into missions for BoS. Flying German is done, will get The Russian planes done when I have time. Enemy plane spawn is completely random. Every time you shoot something down, another random spawn will occur. All the planes that appear in Mission Editor are available to fly, and all the enemy that appear in Mission Editor might show up to shoot down. Extract to data/missions folder, and access from your Main Game Window "Missions", and then select the Practice Practice Practice folder on the left. http://bhah.homeip.net:192/Old%20Fokkers/Misssions/Practice%20Practice%20Practice%20German.rar Edited January 13, 2017 by sittingduck99 2

Hartigan Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 sittingduck99: Thank you! This is a great way to "replace" quick mission dogfight. Random planes and different spawn points makes fighting very enjoyable! Is enemy skill level random too? Haven´t tried soviet practice yet ,but soviet planes seems to be less aggressive and they act more logical way i think. Just tested couple fights with BF109
WWSitttingDuck Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) When Sensenmann made the mission, he put in 24 enemy that could spawn, not enough to put in a Novice/Vet/Ace for all the planes in BoS, so I had to limit some of the enemy to just one skill level, and figured a novice 2 seater and an Ace 2 seater probably would not be that much difference, so for the most part, all the bombers are only Veteran. But here is the possible planes skill levels that might spawn in the mission set. So there are only 3 Aces in the Russian enemy, and 6 Aces in the German. If someone wants a "modified" mission set with a different plane set, let me know, and it is not that much trouble to edit the mission. Thad Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) Salutations, I have downloaded many missions for use and for reference. Unfortunately... many will not even load into the Editor. "Error reading mission file". One favorite tank mission in particular, (Capture Seversk -Tank), was accessible before the latest game update. Since then, it will not load. I tried deleting the .msnbin file(s) but many will still not open and the same error is reported. Is there anything else known to fix such a problem? I remember reading something about replacing the word 'entity' with 'plane' is some portion of a file, but not the details. Edited January 29, 2017 by Thad

Thad Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Thanks, the methods presented revived most missions. Unfortunately, my tank mission was a lost cause. Oh well, the war goes on.
JimTM Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Thanks, the methods presented revived most missions. Unfortunately, my tank mission was a lost cause. Oh well, the war goes on. One suggestion: Check the mission file in a text editor like NotePad++ for an apostrophe in any MCU or object name and remove every instance of the apostrophe. For example, in a mission with a complex trigger, under MCU_TR_ComplexTrigger, I had ObjectName = "Jim's FW190" and when I removed the apostrophe, my mission loaded. This may apply to other punctuation marks in names too.
Jade_Monkey Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Thanks, the methods presented revived most missions. Unfortunately, my tank mission was a lost cause. Oh well, the war goes on. Hi Thad, I believe i salvaged the Capture Seversk in my personal thread. Try the mission in the mission pack: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/25593-jade-monkeys-single-player-sp-missions/
WWSitttingDuck Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 (edited) sorry, mis-labeled one of the missions, so if you downloaded v3, discard it and get v4. For the Practice Practice Practice missions. ver4 is the latest To the German flying missions: Added the FW190A5 to fly, and took out the Lag5s novice to fly against, and replaced it with the Il2m43 veteran To the Russian flying missions: Added the Il2m43 to fly, and replaced one of the german novices (forget which one) with the FW190a5 Extract to data/missions folder, and let it overwrite existing files. http://bhah.homeip.net:192/Old%20Fokkers/Misssions/Practice%20Practice%20Practice%20V4.rar Edited May 13, 2017 by sittingduck99 2
WWSitttingDuck Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 If you are refering to my link, I just tried it and it is working...... If you were getting a "server busy" error, I think I resolved that issue.
Cybermat47 Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Would anyone be able to point me towards a historically accurate P-40 mission?
WWSitttingDuck Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Updated Practice Practice Practice. Added Spirfiremkvb to fly as Russian. Added Spitfiremkvb Veteran and Ace to fly against in German missions. Scratched the Il2m2 novice and P40e1 novice to make room for it in the German missions. extract to data/missions folder and let it overwrite any files. http://bhah.homeip.net:192/Old%20Fokkers/Misssions/Practice%20Practice%20Practice%20v5.rar 1

TP_Silk Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Here's a copy of what I normally run as a Co-op multiplayer map but re-saved for a single Spitfire player aircraft. All encounter areas are marked and units will spawn when a player enters then despawn when all players (or just you in this case) exit the area. They will then re-spawn if you re-enter the area. If you edit the map you will see that there is a Russian and a German base for multiplayer mode, so if you want to fly the German version just delete move and edit the Spit so it's a German plane. https://app.box.com/s/fp83fs5s9ieqjnh7yt4a3zgt50snupko The map is nothing special, but it gives a way of practicing against various aircraft and/or ground/sea targets.
