What aircraft would you like to see in a future Scripted Campaign?

I'm revising Havoc over the Kuban right now. Have you flown that one? It's a great bomber Campaign and it's about to be even better!

It is more a ground attack campaign than a bomber campaign. It is a lot of fun, but not what you would expect of a bomber campaign. The same surely counts for the             Ju 88 C6.

a He111 level bombing campaign or a Ju88 campaign with mixed level and dive bombings would be great.

+1.

Ju 88 A4 would, of course, profit from the ability to do dive bombings as well.

For example some anti shipping missions in the Black Sea would be a welcome variety.

@Jaegermeister

btw I waited long time for the revising of the Havoc campaign ???

A lot of campaigns are already overworked, finally the queue reaches the Havoc campaign ??

It haves so many aspects I like, like long distance sorties and simple things like spawn cold and dark and start the sortie with engine start and taxi to runway??

Like @Yogiflight says, it’s more a ground attacker campaign…

But however no matter, I hope to see it soon… will it be in the next update?

Havoc Over the Kuban is the last one to be updated with Tactical ID numbers, new skins, looped effects, revised waypoints, AI activation zones, etc.

There are some revisions to other Scripted Campaigns that are now completed. The updated Lightning Strikes Campaign will be in the next update, and it will include the combined ground textures and scenery enhancements from @AEthelraedUnraed's Hurtgen Campaign combined with my additions of various cities in the Ardennes area. The Devs have agreed to include new scenery in anticipation of future community projects that can also include improved ground textures. If Battle of the Hurtgen Forest is added as an Official Historical Campaign as has been discussed, it can use the same texture file. AEthelraedUnraed has of course been consulted on this in advance and enthusiastically agreed to it. The more we all work together on these projects, the better it is for all of us.  :friends:

I don't think I will be done with Havoc in time for this next major game update, but I'm trying. It is a tedious process because it's not even my missions and I have to figure them out first before I can do anything without significantly changing the events and timing. It takes at least a whole day to complete and test 1 mission, sometimes 2 days.

Don’t worry about the timing it’s already in the next update or not… it’s a good news for me it’s already in work also about Lighting strikes, I not finished it so far so I will restart it as soon it’s updated (this week?).

Thanks for your efforts @Jaegermeister

2 weeks... be sure.

You should definitely start LS over after the update. There are lots of improvements.

You're welcome, I'm not worried at all. :good:

I agree. I'm already looking forward to the one that's in progress, but it's on an improvised map.

I did some research on Kittyhawks in the RAF over Normandy in '43 and they flew a grand total of about 20 missions. The only time they encountered enemy fighters, the flight of 2 failed to RTB and was never seen or heard from again. They sent the rest of them to Canada for home defense after that.

Spitfire IXc campaign over Normandy. Base it off the career of Johnnie Johnson (well maybe not being wing leader, that would be difficult with the number of aircraft) but in terms of the types of engagements, being the first spitfires stationed in france etc. )

Alternately something that makes use of the LA5F/FN since they have such a short time in career mode.

What a coincidence... I'm in the middle of reading this right now in my spare time;

ME410.  Mix of Bomber Intercept and ground attack.  maybe even some anti-shipping as well.

I'm currently modifying the Panzerknacker Campaign so I can fly it there.  Been fun so far.

Looks like quite a few people are interested in seeing the IAR-80. I’ll see how many votes that one gets, but doing a campaign for a collector plane is less likely now.

The Mosquito is still in the lead with the Spitfire IXc in second place. The poll is not necessarily the answer, but it does give me an idea of what some of the English speaking players are looking for.

Was there any IAR-80 squadrons still active in area when the Kerch-Eltigen operation took place?

I would like most a Normandy Spit IXc campaign, or a IAR80C campaign

The -80 as a Bloch stand-in for a France 1940 scenario using the BoBp and BoN maps. Flying for the French, the opposition aircraft would be fairly close to reality while the French / UK side would get unrealistic stand-ins but would not matter because the player would not engage them.

Someone make it and I’ll let you kiss my sister…

Yes, Grupul 3 initially, until they were replaced by Grupul 4. Grupul 3 had old IAR80s and IAR80As, while Grupul 4 had IAR80Cs. Mostly they were engaged in convoy escort missions, from the limited material I've seen.

As far as I know, IAR-80/81s were based further west on the Crimea, outside the map area, during Kerch-Eltigen operation. While doing research for my campaign I found no prove that they flew missions in the Kerch Strait area during this time, although Romanian Stukas did. Apparently convoy escort between Sevastopol and Odessa was the main mission type in late 1943.

Thx! I very much enjoyed your campaign. I wanted to do something like a campaigen where the IAR80s defend the air over the soviet beach landing defended by romanian troops. But seems that woud not be historical then ?
