Nor the new campaign, I´m afraid.

edit: It´s there already.

Dserver doesn't seem to want to launch with the new version installed.  I've updated to 5.107 and I'm now getting an error when trying to open an SDS saying "!!! ERROR: new version of Dedicated server available. Please update your server."  When I run the launcher, it shows I'm at 5.107 and doesn't try to download any additional updates.

  1. Dogfight: to make spying on the other team's actions harder, the coalition selection (and therefore the penalty in case of a coalition change) applies immediately when selecting a spawn point, not after the first flight;

Very disappointing for those of us that like to look at the various aircraft options before choosing with side to fly for. Often I will look at what aircraft are available and what load-outs those aircraft have as I am more interested in the type of mission that I fly than I am in which side to fly for. For instance, I like flying Jabo/Fighter-Bomber missions, but until I click on an airfield I cannot see what load-out options are available for which aircraft.

By enforcing your coalition selection as soon as you click on an airfield you are basically saying "take a guess what might be there and hope for the best, but we're going to hammer you if you don't like your first choice'.

Now, if you had made it so that it was locked in place when you first spawn in, that would be a different matter. It doesn't have to be after the first flight, but we still get to look at aircraft options and load-outs.

I've noticed multiplayer numbers dwindling recently. I can't imagine that a change like this will actually encourage more people to join in.

Thank you so much, LukeFF are there any recommended settings (density/difficulty) to get the most realistic career missions in terms of the correct forces ratio?

New mission types 'Advancing troops support' and 'Defending troops support' are in development.

So they didn't make it into this update? :(

I like to use the middle setting for difficulty and the highest density setting for most career missions. For night bombing and supply drop missions, that means you might encounter enemy night fighters and you might not.

They should be there, but I'll check.

Can understand your point of view but prevent spying on that way is much more important on seriously online servers. Maybe it’s a task for the server admins offer these informations on the parser or ingame in the server desolation?

Good update. I hope this iff and searchlight stuff is indicative of more sophisticated systems to be introduced in the future.

@Yogiflight, yes, advancing and defending troops support missions are there, they just were accidentally omitted from the change log. They should be there for the three Eastern Front maps for the following planes:

  • All Il-2s
  • Bf 109 E-7 Schlacht units
  • Fw 190 A-5
  • Bf 110 E-2
  • Hs 129

The plan is to add them to the Normandy and Rhineland Fw 190 attack units, and probably a few of the Typhoon units (more proper close air support missions for the Typhoon are planned).

I didn't try it yet. I was just going after the changelog list. If they should be there, I'll try it.

What about the fuel indicator switch for the FW 190 Antons?

No server I know of gives a full breakdown of loadouts available with each aircraft in their plane set. The nearest I can think of is Finnish Virtual Pilots that has a website that allows you to see which plane set (but not which loadouts) are available in the current missions.

Personally, I can't think that any server admin is going to want to go to the trouble of providing all that information.

As I say, very disappointing and hardly an incentive for people to play (or even try) multiplayer engagements.

Will we need to restart Normandy or Bodenplatte careers to see the change in the amount of Luftwaffe fighters?

No, you'll just need to advance to the next day.

I took La-5 for a quick fight, now it definitely turns better.

Besides seeing team text chat - which is not typically used for important discussion, there isn't much information to be gleaned from "spying".  You'd be better off sitting on the voice chat of the enemy in various Discords.   I agree with TP_Silk in this case and think this is a 'fix' for a problem that wasn't there.  I would also sometimes check available loadouts of both sides and make my decision of what to fly after that.  Guess I'll take coalition change penalties going forward?

I bought both things to say thanks for continuing to add content for Great Battles. Even if the new title is something completely different I hope there will still be stuff for Great Battles.

As I see now, there are now new settings Air and AAA Strength and Frontline Forces setting, which is a great step forwards. Now I am just not sure if to get the realistic AIr opposition in Normandy I should set it to Parity or set it to Enemy Inferiority. I suppose that frontline forces now affects only ground units (so can be set to numerous)

Frontline forces still does affect how many flights are generated.
