Actually found that to be quite descriptive.  Lol

Okay, I'll confess without hitting. I promised that I won't buy anything for FC until career mode is available, but I couldn't stand it. I cheated myself, Snipe was bought. :lol: Hopefully early next year I'll be able to use it on some Western Front WWI map. :dance:

On first ingame sight..... maybe could be obvious. But as yo go in deeper shooting tests you can observe same kind of damage done by 0.50 and Hispanos. Can you stay aside with obedientities and leave this answer to anybody from inside? Thanks for advance.

LOL no, I won't because it was never obvious that you were originally directing the questions at the developers and no one else. Besides that, why are you posting a question on an open forum if you only want the devs to respond? Send 'em a PM if you don't want us plebs giving you a response in a more rapid manner.

Huh?  Never thought that my native 'Californian Cool' could be considered 'King's English'.  I'll take that as a complement. ?

I must have missed that. It didn't seem far off by default, and I've got so used to the Camel etc not having trim that I didn't even look.

Im not 100% sure this came in this update, but I see some new static vehicles and planes: Bedford trucks and P-51 B/C (with both canopy styles)

This is very welcome, please keep them coming (i look forward to the C-47)

Cool. I like the sound of some of those AI changes, especially collision avoidance in head-on jousts. Looking forward to having a go in the Snipe too.

0.    The tail section damage texture has been fixed on all Bf-109s;

Could it be possible an extended explanation for this short sentence? Has it only visually fixed it or also the DM joined to that part? Not clear.

 @Tempus I will see if I can get you a clarification in the morning.

Why do Tank HE rounds still knock out enemy tank barrels?  This doesn't happen in real life.  The only thing that can knock out a cannon barrel is a direct APHE or AP round to the mantlet, parts of the turret (penetrations on the firing mechanism)  or the barrel itself.  The concussive blast of HE has zero effect.  If you are going to create the ability of a Tiger cupola to get shot off, surely you have the time and resources to fix this problem with HE.

Cockpit texture updates:

  • Bf-109E7: Front flap placard: ausgetahrenen→ausgefahrenen
  • He111H6/H16: Radiator placard: two rechts repeated → one links, one recht.
  • Ju-87D3: right placards: kühlerklapen→kühlerklappen
  • Spitfire Mk.Vb/IXe/XIV: fuse box information detail improvement.
  • Spitfire Mk.Vb: engine limitation placard: max. emergency 3 MIN→5 MIN

@LukeFF, a quick clarification, if you don't mind - the Spitfire Mk.Vb engine limits listed on the "Specifications" tab in the game still state max emergency time is 3 minutes. But as you noted above and I can also now see in the "Engine Limitations" placard, the max emergency time is listed as 5 minutes.

Since I appear to have become the person who updates Storebror's "Pilots Notes for Cockpit Photos", I'd like to know if I should update those for the Spitfire Mk.Vb from 3 minutes to 5 minutes despite the "Specifications" tab in the game still stating 3 minutes. I'm guessing that limit in the "Specifications" tab were simply not updated when the placard was updated.

I don't understand; the Spitfire Mk.Vb still states a 3 minute emergency time in the specifications?

It happens, the barrels are made of non-armored steel and are quite fragile and vulnerable, even small indentations in the barrel can turn the gun inoperable, as they're disrupt the structural integrity of the barrel and cause it to blow up during the next shot. I've already clarified this more than one time.

Barrel damage model do work as intended and the durability of the gun barrels is exactly as it should be for the tube made of construction steel of the same thickness.

@Tempus

Here is your answer to item 10.

It's only the visuals.

There was a difference between visual damage of the stabilizer and damaged 3D model, the fracture on the texture were placed differently than the fracture on the 3D model.

I think that Sniper gun flashes visible in the cockpit are exaggerated, no other planes has that big flashes when faring the weapons.

I believe the correct time is now 5 minutes, yes. To be sure, though, you might want to ask @Oyster_KAI about this one - he was the one who made the change. ??

They are new, It's just too bad they are both British. It would have been nice to have one of them in a US skin.

Hi, @RamblinWreckas a first measure delete all MSNBIN files of the missions you want to play in the missions subdirectories and try again. Don't worry, the worst thing that can happen is increased loading time. MSNBIN files are created each time you save a mission after editing it and the game runs without them too. Should work then.

There's a tool to convert mission files to binaries in the editor's menu but it takes ages to do so.

@Charlo-VR , @LukeFF
This should be an omission, I will ask the developer.
Merlin45 manual says 5 min.
And you can see it on the official Specific page for 5 min.

The FC AI is still really messed up.  I have a mission where I fly straight at a group of 6 AI enemy fighters (not a commanded formation) that were given an Attack Area aircraft command; these were a mix of ace and high skill levels.  All 6 broke before I approached, then proceeded to do a gnat dance in my general area as I flew in a slightly climbing circle at less than full throttle.  None ever bothered to attack me.  A flew minutes later an AI bomber formation came by (which I was suppose to be escorting).  Most of the enemy fighters were now given Attack Object high priority commands targeting the bombers.  Same goofball AI behavior...yet another gnat dance around the bombers, though one managed to fire a few shots on a pass before proceeding to reenter the communal gnat dance.   Good grief ?

If it's a mission you built what were the way points set too? try "low" then they should attack anything near by.

Thanks for that tip.  I've built more than a few missions for BoX/FC and have a really good understanding of the MCUs.  Those AI fighters were not following any waypoints, but they did seemingly respond properly to their Attack Area commands...well sort of, since they never actually got around to firing on the only target in the area (me).

On HE shells damaging cannons: recently I've came across a very good example. Look at this fingernail-deep indentation here — that's a damage from nearby HE shelling that is enough to render smoothbore gun inoperable, in the pinned comment author confirms that the barrel now requires a replacement, though the damage could not look so serious. Considering the stress on the barrel of a smoothbore cannon during the shot is significantly lower than a stress on a rifled barrel, that should be enough to demonstrate the vulnerability of gun barrels to the shrapnel to no further questions.

Great update! Thanks team for all your hard work! I have 2 questions that I'm sure can be answered easily....

1. where can i find the stug scenario mentioned in the notes? Can't seem to find it in the missions.

2. Is there any benefit to buying the Tank Crew Premium for an early adopter like myself? I have bought all the vehicles (except the Churchill which I don't have much interest in) along the way and if I buy it for the sale price the only monetary gain is a few cents off the purchase price for the Churchill itself. I have no problem spending the money to help development, just wondering if I'm missing something by not getting it.

Have wonderful Christmas season and a Happy New Year!

Nick
