It would seem we are getting ever closer to finally getting the 410, so I figured we could get a wish list of what we would like to skinned by our VERY TALENTED members!

 

Put up some pictures folks!

 

I would love to see this camo...

Please don't take this the wrong way but you should give skinning a try. It's really not as hard as it may appear. The picture you posted looks pretty straight forward. The templates in the game are pretty well laid out for the most part. Once in a while it's tough to find a small part but the wireframe layer helps a lot. The learning curve might seem daunting at first but when you make a favorite skin that turns out well, it is very satisfying. There are a lot of guys here who are very good who I'm sure would be willing to give advice. Through the last 20 plus years, I've studied the work of many skinners. Bo Nidle, Canon (who did great skins in the old IL2 but doesn't seem to be here unfortunately), Raptor to name a few. There have been so many great artists I couldn't possibly list all of them. Each guy has a different technique but the end result is what counts.

 

I don't profess to being great but I do enjoy creating a skin to fly in the game that's all mine. It sort of makes it feel like my plane, much as I imagine it must have given a WWII pilot the same feeling. Give it a shot. I don't use GIMP myself but many do and it's free. If you have questions feel free to contact me. I might be able to help. If not, someone else likely can.

I did skinning for a long time in the old Il-2, FS9, FSX, CFS3, and even made a couple for this version of IL-2. I don't do it anymore because I simply don't have time. I barely have enough time to squeeze in some multiplayer sorties during the week. Real life work, house work, gardening and other toils tend to get in the way of me having any fun these days. ? I do appreciate your post though.  :drinks:

This would make a nice addition to the ME-410 skins.

I would like to add this one to the wish list.

I don't care about the black and white stripes as they are just a pain due to the skin template cutting but I love the camo pattern and colours. Every attempt I have made just misses the mark. The colours are off, the pattern isn't close enough. I just can't nail it but will keep on trying. Look on it as a challenge ;)

Just a plea once again to remember that all the new aircraft are enabled for tactical codes so a generic version of these wonderful skins where it is appropriate would be fantastic. There is nothing worse in a PWCG campaign than seeing 12 identical skins in formation.
