That is a setting in the info.txt file of the particular campaign. It could have been changed during the update. 0 is hidden, 1 is shown

Issues I've encountered IN FC: balloons (both sides) remain at 50 mtrs alt. No winch-trucks visible. Ground-MG's are invisible but also cannot be damaged. I shot up an MG-nest, got good hits on the invisible Hotchkiss mdl.1914 but no joy. Instead it pumped my engine full of lead, again without any visible trace, no gun, no muzzle-flash, no tracers. I also saw a 13-pounder AA-gun nest without the gun firing, buth there were shell-burst in the sky above it.

As far as graphics and other issues (like the perenial Steam update issues which just makes me glad I don't use it!-), I have experienced no framerate drops, and graphics look great on my monitor with everything running fine online and in SP for me. It does seem as though the VR crowd has had some issues of late since I have seen a number of posts in this regard

Same here I was getting clobbered  on CBX last night thought I was just being blind did not see the AAA emplacements even though was actively searching for them..

The launch and cruise modes are different for these versions.

4.705b hotfix has been just released:

 

1) Selecting lowest graphics settings won't result in an error message during startup;

2) Stationary AA and AT guns in multiplayer are visible again;

3) Compass and turret position indicator are visible again on Expert difficulty because of the popular demand.

4) bf109 roll rate adjusted, aileron "clamping" should occur sooner and not after 600kph.

So, i've made a video about it and there's a clear difference between the glare caused by the guns in the D9 compared to the A5, so i think this is a bug. Can it be fixed?

Hello, Han & Sneaksie.

 

After the last update, the wings on the 109G6 late (only one used) come off at the halfway point steady when hit, three passes on ground targets and three wings shot off from what appeared to be light damage on the rest of the plane surfaces.  Also a head-on pass against a P-51 with a few light pings and half the wing flies off.

Just had a bash in my Spit IXe Career - very nice.  Good fight - wayward return to find a bunch of 109 G14's on my way home.  Power climbed to the clouds to escape but 1 intercepted me when I thought I was safe so I had to float back down to earth on my silk ride.

 

No issues with VR or startup. 

 

Will enjoy a Mossie Career soon.

but afterwards there is always the bug of the turret which locks itself and the absence of control / parasitic movements when you change position in the tank (like the turret, super practical for firing and checking the shots ...) / the exaggerated DM of the machine guns which pierce the armor / the information of the tank/module menu in contradiction with what happens in game ... Ah, and the absence of turret control when the tank is in a tank group , (but it seems that it will be treated by the end of the summer...) 

...and the tank that crumbles when it hits a tree the size of a toothpick at 10Km/H... (I think it would also help aircraft players when they land in an emergency...)

Sorry if this have been up erlier but i  could not find anything...

 

When i start up the Mossie on Bodenplatte summer map, my engines start in over cooled mode and wont go over 40 degrees in rad and oil temp, the radiators are closed... i have been standing on the ground now for 15 min, nothing happens ?! This can be right can it

Maybe you don't have Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (it should be installed either by Steam or our installer when you install the game):

That might work sure... but it not right... she should heat up much faster, i can fly her 100% prop and throttle, and  closed radiators and not be anywhere close to overheating...

Kermit says here that she overheats on ground in 10-12 min, talks about the radiators @ 05:13

Do we need to apply the hotfix to servers in order to fix the invisible stationary AA and AT guns in multiplayer, or it it a client side fix?

We will apply the hotfix of course, but the difference is whether we want to kick players off the server now or wait until a more convenient time ?

 

Edit: Never mind, the server has been updated ??

Seems like not.

 

Since you mentioned it I tried a Spitfire Mk Vb sat on the ground with the engine ticking over at 1600 RPM from startup on a summer map and if anything the radiator temperature dropped over the course of 20 minutes or so, when it should have boiled and the engine seized up.

 

The last time I tried this plane in combat the engine gave out in a very short time if I didn't open the radiator flap soon enough.

I wanted to ask a question since someone mentioned it several posts ago,when you get a message on technochat that says "combat time exceeded " or something along those lines, does that timer reset after a while or once you reach that you are stuck with that till the end of the mission? i figured if you baby the engine the timer would start going back on that function but im not sure if this is how it works??  I've always wanted to ask this and just never remembered to do it, thank you for any input

OMG!!   The Mossie is such a dream to fly!   I'm absolutely in love!   Thank you devs for the awesome work!   Very impressed!

 

I'm also one of the few that hasn't had any problems or bugs running the new update.    I hope it gets sorted for all those with problems.

Yes, it definitely resets. 

I don't have the exact times, but it's something like 5-10 min.

Regarding this 'improvement'.

 

"22. Hopefully, the old issue of TrackIR causing stutters when used together with Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick should be gone;"

 

Before this update, using a MSFF 2 stick that wasn't working properly (i.e., no force feedback, or stick is set in concrete, or shaking and moving uncontrollably, or other variations of problems) I could while still in a mission press esc. to access 'input devices'  'force feedback', and uncheck the box at the bottom (disable force feedback), click outside the box and then click the box again and press accept.  Sometimes it took several tries to get the stick to work properly, but at least you didn't have to leave the mission to do so.  Now the 'box' is no longer there!  So if you have a problem you have and even bigger problem having to leave the game.  You can still access the 'box' but you now have to do it from the main menu under 'settings'.  So far I have been unable to get the same result from the main menu even though it now requires you to restart the game to do it.  In other words even with all the effort of leaving a mission, checking the box, and reentering the  mission, the stick still doesn't work.  The only time I got it do work was when I unchecked the box and not only left the game, but restarted my computer.

 

I don't know about the stutters, but this 'fix' is NO 'fix' at all.  If I am flying in an ACG mission I wouldn't have time to fix my  problem before mission start and who wants to restart their computer over and over again?  Anybody else have a MSFF 2 stick?  Developers, please put this back the way it was before the 4.705 update.  Thanks in advance.  :)

I can no longer launch any of the Achtung Spitfire scripted campaigns after applying this update. The campaign starts but when it goes to the pilot's private journal, the screen size is wrong and doesn't display the button so I can start the campaign. I cannot get past this screen to start the campaign. I'm running 3440x1440 resolution and I have rebooted the computer since installing the update.

@Ala13_UnopaUno_VR @=VARP=Ribbon, others with FPS problems... are you using openvr_fsr by any chance? This update overwrote my copy of openvr_api.dll (correctly, as I told Steam to repair the installation). Try restoring the fsr version. I initially lost about 30fps, but only because I was rendering at a much higher resolution than I meant to.

Cant start IL-2.

On british engines its 3:1 , so you get 1 min of combat (or any other) timer back if you dont use combat for 3min. On american engines its 2:1.
