Drago asked me to cover a Me262 over Osoppo (26 km north of Udine) during some test. I didn't saw him taking off or landing, but I saw it flying and I was surprised by his speed Thanks! Very interesting indeed. Do you have a precize Date for the event? Only shows me that all kind of weird things could have happened. Edited July 11, 2021 by sevenless

So this means that the Me-262 was station at Osoppo? If I'm understanding that correctly, that puts Lake Comacchio well within range (it is only 200km away). By the way... my apparent doubt as to the accuracy of identifications of aircraft is based partly on things like the very frequent misidentification of PzIV as Tigers in Normandy, but also the reaction that this thread received: https://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/29866-most-important-aircraft-wwi-wonderful-source-data/ or a variation of it - which was dismissed by some people due to the assumed propensity of aces to misidentify their targets. Obviously most pilots would never have seen a Me-262 or Ar-234... so I still think it is quite plausible to have misidentifications... but the presence of Me-262 in the area definitely increases the probability that the identification was correct

That still only adds 50 km to make the round trip to Lake Comacchio 450 km... so quite plausibly the Me-262. Although the possibility of misidentification is also high. I wonder if we can track down the source for the claim about the Ar-234? @FliegerAD Do you know if Manfred Griehl cites any sources for the claim made on page 110?

Unfortunately I don´t have that book. But maybe one of the guys on this forum has? As shown above by my references to Nick Beale´s conversation with Hans Sommer. Hans Sommer surely isn´t the source of this, else he certainly would have mentioned it to Nick Beale. Kommando Sommer (page 1) (ghostbombers.com)
Jaegermeister Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 I'm very glad to see the B-26 is coming along nicely. This will complete the plane set we need to do some late war escort missions over the Rhine River crossing. 1

And the G had the increased angle of incidence wing, which makes it look funny from some angles (engine-nacelles angled off from the fuselage-waterline, too). Edited July 12, 2021 by Bremspropeller
ST_Catchov Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Hmm that's moderately interesting, but I'm wondering what engine will be modelled in the DH.4?
