I think possibly for this one it is because one of the recent patches revisited the M2 and 50 caliber ammunition and so for a lot of people this mod wasn't needed anymore. I know that the main reason I was using it was because of that and so once I was sure I was happy with what the official patch provided I stopped using this mod.

It is not like the one side is more powerfull then another one, the damage is still balanced, so you should be able to withstand some damage.

So in order to get it installed correctly, I should use JSME with the file from the first post, then update with yours?  Because I also got some pop-up in the middle of a fight.

Just use the last added version installed via JSME and you should be fine.

Hi Rails, does this still work? 

I have tried the JGSME version and the game regularly crashes when an object is hit? 

 

Has the latest update affected it?

If the game doesn't crash with the mod disabled I would say yes.  Often the more complex, wide ranging updates crash mods.  sometimes it the simple ones.  It all depends on what files were modified and how.

Hopefully Rails can update it.

I hope so. 

This and the dispersion mod make so much of a difference and make the 50.cals.feel like 50 cals :(

I have not updated this mod in quite some time. Quick question are you looking for just the 50's being tweaked or other ballistics? If it's just 50's I can try and get something out quickly.

Would just like to see if the 50 cals can be modded so they hit hard like they really should. 

That would be awesome if you can? 

I have the dispersion mod which does make a small difference in how the guns hit but they are so weak in comparison to how they really should be, it would be great to see those 50.cals hitting hard again if you get time ?

@Mysticpuma I updated the M2 50 cal files. Hope they work. Let me  know if you have problems.

Hi mate, yes, this is the issue I am getting. It crashes the game every time I try and use it :(

Firing the guns is no issue, it appears that as soon as they interact with anything the game crashes.

No problem at all, great you know the problem, look forward to the fix. Can't wait to see it. 

 

I spent some time in P-47's creating this footage with the stock. 50-cals and it was a chore getting some damage done, video turned out okay in the end though ?

 

Anyway, here's the result, I await your verdict.

@MysticpumaMy modpack, IL-2 Enhanced, has an updated version of this mod where a forum member went through and fixed all of the luascripting errors.

I'm getting the same error as MysticPuma but only for "building". I tested on the other surfaces and there is no issue. I get the building error when shooting buildings obviously, but it also pops up when shooting bridges or trucks. I have the latest version and no other mods installed. I made a copy and deleted that specific building1.txt file, still no dice.

 

Thank you for the work you put into this mod. It's a game changer.

I gave up on using it as there were still issues.

Drew, I appreciate that but I don't really fancy downloading the entire mod pack for just this one feature :(

@Mysticpuma @Hook_Echo found a spelling error in one of the files. Just tried it and had no problems. Try downloading the updated files and let me know if anything is wrong still.

Excellent Mod, thanks mate!  I simply don't understand why I need a mod to do what should be part of the game already though, lol.  The Devs should pay you for this and include it in the next patch, lol.

 

Can I assume this doesn't work in the P51B?

Sorry ffor the late answer, didn't really have a time to reply. I waited for the update and now I need to dive into .txt files to see what has changed and make adjustions. So it'll take a while. Please be kind to post a picture with a crash report.

I think you'll find that this mod is now obsolete with the latest damage model tweaks...

So, if anybody is still interested - There are not many additional files after the update so the files provided by this small mod work just fine.

im having issues running the mod. i keep getting a metric shit ton of luascript errors about armor and some other stuff, i honestly dont know what im doing wrong i installed through jsgme.

Then it needs to be updated. They just reworked the DM so the files might be worded differently. I’ll take a look.

thanks. i will admit im not the most computer savvy so i might be messing up on my end.

Here is what I use and it works fine without any crashes. I really do not understand what a problem is guys..... I am using Windows 7, when you have crashes - put a screenshot in this thread and we will look into this. Can't be that hard.....

does windows version make a difference? and i apologize sincerely for not posting a screenshot. didnt really come to mind as once again im not super computer savvy, i dont do this shit a lot.

I'm venturing a guess you have files still in place for an outdated version of this mod. I think it was in October last year that a bunch of the game's weapons fIles (textures mostly as I recall) were renamed and that caused popup messages if you used the mod. I recommend you go back and remove all the files for this weapons mod from the game first and then reinstall just the file Siegfried-Schutz has offered.

Actually nice little comment. Everybody should "reinstall" - disactivate and activate - the mods in JGSME to make them apply upon the current game settings again.

when i originally made my first comment was the first time i ever downloaded the mod. kept getting bin errors, hence why i figured id come back and ask. 

 

so your venture, and guess, were both wrong.

Of course, but with JSGME you can remove-replace them before game updates, IMO a must.
