Fiat CR42 - skin-packs: 91a Squadriglia and 77a Squadriglia

[5th_Hellrider]

Barone and I made a historic skin-pack for the CR42 about the 91a Squadriglia and 77a Squadriglia present in Libya in 1940. The pack includes 12 + 9 aircraft.

Another Squadriglia here, the 77a! This pack includes 9 aircraft (because initially this squadriglia had only 9 planes).

I think you are right. I fix the skins. Thank you for the information. Skins of 91a Sq will be ready soon.

91a Squadriglia file updated. The horse is in the right direction. I apologize for the inconvenience and thanks to Bigans for the suggestion.

 

If there are any other errors, please tell them and I will try to fix them. Anyone who wants me to help make the skins is welcome.

During 1940 Regia Aeronautica used to put a black X under every wing, close to the fasces. It was a tactical theatre insigna only for Libia called S.Andrea's cross.

So I made my personal 91 number with this X, so FLAK and enemies' planes can shot me better! ?

I saw these crosses, but I was not sure if there were applied to all planes, so I preferred not to paint them.

Yes pics are few. I read about this insigna, but I don't know which was the Written Order (Foglio d'Ordine).

 

I saw CR 32, 42, Breda 65. Maybe they were covered when LW arrived in Libia in Febraury 1941.

 

Many pics we have typed in books about Regia were shot by German so after 24 Febraury 1941, but unfortunatly some autor of books applied as pics of 1940 (not intentionally, as they were not witness and they did not know about this insigna) because pics of the first period were few.

 

An example are pics with fasces with white background typed as in late 1941 or in 1942, when we know that the Foglio d'ordine 86080 del 25/08/1941 stated the end of white background. Viceversa I found some pics typed as 1940 or first 8 months of 1941 without white background.

I should probably move the lower roundels more outside. I put them where they were on Clod's Cr42s, but I had doubts. They are too inside.

I updated the skins with the roundels in the correct position. I didn't put the "X" because the skin can have a value that goes from '40 to '41, so I preferred not to put them. Of course you can paint them on the skin, if you like. I have slightly lightened the markings of the 77a Sq.

 

This time I put the skins of the two Squadriglie (77a and 91a) in one zip file and called it 1.3 to indicate the version. Download link is on first post. 

 

 

PS: the lower roundels of the default markings should be moved outside, Team Fusion/@Buzzsaw *

 

*Sorry Buzzsaw if I'm annoing you about skins things, but I don't know who to tag from the Team Fusion and deals with skins. ?
