AI shooting (il)logic?

Hi There,

 

sorry if discussed somewhere else already (tried to search with not much luck), I'm just watching from afar, AI aircrafts on all sides taking aim and then holding down the trigger like there is no tomorrow, spraying and praying, drawing firehoses through the skies, killing ammo rather than the opponent. Could AI be a bit conservative, and not shooting up the skies like a swiss cheese then trying to stay alive with no ammo left, being also unable to help anyone out?

 

If discussed already, could someone please point it out for me, which topic was it?

In my experience the accuracy of the AI pilots is tied completely to their competency. A "novice" pilot seems to open up and spray and pray, while an "ace" pilot is deadly with one burst kills.

How can one check or see, what "competencies" AI pilots have  that will come up against a human in BoS or any IL-2 Great Battle edition?

The “October 27, 2014” date is just the date that @BlackSix opened that particular section of the “Technical Issues and Bug Reports” forum.

 

@Q_Walker posted his bug report on this issue on this December 17th (thank you @Q_Walker for taking the initiative and reporting it - I had seen the same issue and just passed it off as: “well, that’s  just the way it is.”)      ?

 

I was glad to see that @-DED-Rapidus acknowledged and accepted the bug report - hopefully that will lead to a fix in an upcoming update.

Well said. When reading pilots memories, there are a lot of stories where inexperienced pilots started to spray from over kilometer away, and also stories where evading pilot went completely nuts from horror, as the pilot trailing him held his fire until the very last moment. 

 

The best compromise would be that there are both kind of AI players as in real life.
