=IRFC=Gascan Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 This was quite simply the most fun I've ever had in Flying Circus. The mission planning, the coordination, the beautiful planes and scenery, all the way up to the glorious dogfights that ranged from dancing in the clouds to zipping through the trees. I was incredibly lucky that I didn't take significant damage or lose controls and was able to keep pushing my kite to the limit during the various fights. It's taken a bit to put together since I work shift work, I had a model battleship event in my free time last week, and it's a big video (45 minutes!), but I am glad I took the time to do this one right. Some (most/all) of the Central skins didn't load correctly for me even though I have the full skin pack, so I'm sorry I didn't record the proper colors for my opponents. I was also a bit confused that the parser listed one pilot as bailed out when the track shows him dead with no chute, but the scores at the end were taken from the parser. Big thanks to all the people who made this event happen and to all the people who participated. Hosting the event, making the map, leading and organizing the two sides, the fighters on escort mission, the two-seaters on the recon and strike missions, the Central and their long hours of guarding targets, not knowing when we were going to arrive. There was lots of frustration, but there were also moments of incredible fun, and I wanted to share my absolute favorite will you all. I have more footage from the event, and will make more videos when possible. 5 1
J99_Sizzlorr Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Some really great fights. I think I was part of it for a bit but got wounded early on and had to back aways from the party.
=IRFC=Gascan Posted October 13, 2020 Author Posted October 13, 2020 There's a score card at the end based off the parser, and you're on there.

A yes must have missed it it is a little short. Really great stuff. I would love to have events like this more often. It just is way more fun when both sides are organized somehow.
messsucher Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Wow, this certainly looked intense, had to even recheck did I saw right a pilot flew and circled below treeline ? I like racing sims, this looked like combining both racing sims and flight sims ?
JGr2/J5_Baeumer Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 @gascan Great work. Glad you enjoyed yourself in the campaign and thank you for taking the time to share with all of us.
RNAS10_Oliver Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 (edited) Nice video. Good to see watch what happened during that sortie after I went down in pieces. Also damn that archie on Kotori was accurate. Sniped. 8 hours ago, gascan said: Some (most/all) of the Central skins didn't load correctly for me even though I have the full skin pack, so I'm sorry I didn't record the proper colors for my opponents. Also cool to see some of my skins on a couple of the aircraft there (though of course one is me). ? Though during the event I could not see you wearing MacGregors B6299. ? Dare say the reason is because the version your using has an differing name. I suspect that's also the reason you could not see some Germans in their colours. As I used to have the same problem with 1PL's aircraft aircraft. I downloaded the "unofficial skin bundle" but continued to see 1PL in the default colours. Figured out that 1PL were/are continuing to use the skins from their own pack rather than the "unofficial skin bundle". There's filename differences between the two sources. After obtaining the skins from their pack instead I was able to see them and their Polish cockades. So dare say the same might be true and the reason you cannot see them could be because the J5 boys (was it them or different squadron) might be using the versions from their own packs rather than the "unofficial skin bundle". @J5_Baeumer and @J5_Daedallus maybe could confirm whether that's the case? =IRFC=Gascan Posted October 13, 2020 Author Posted October 13, 2020 That's what I thought at first, but I don't think that's the issue here. After Daedallus lost his wings diving on a Camel in that fight near Observation Post B, his skin popped in and is very clear. And yes, that AA gun took out Kotori on it's very first shot, then missed every shot after that.

The game engine reverts back to default skins when the load on the server or client (not sure anymore) is high, or when the planes are out of range. 1
=IRFC=Gascan Posted October 19, 2020 Author Posted October 19, 2020 My internet went out for three days over the weekend, so I spent most of the time capturing footage for the next BS video (The recon flight in Sector B during week 4, coming soon). I got these two clips, and thought "Man, that's a busy, busy airfield." No guns, just five minutes of continuous airfield operations. 1 1
=IRFC=Gascan Posted November 7, 2020 Author Posted November 7, 2020 It is my pleasure to present Black September Week 4: Photo Reconnaissance. Warning: it's 50 minutes long, timestamps below if you want to skip around. This video took a long time to get right, because it was a complex mission, with many separate elements needed to tell the overall story. Kotori and I helped organize two wings to perform the Photo Recon mission in Sector B. We flew some breathtaking formations of aircraft, and got into a series of adrenalin-fueled aerial duels to guard the vital recon plane. Big salute to all the people who helped make this happen, from the event and map, to the pilots on both sides, all of whom I love flying with and against. Despite the losses the Entente suffered, this was still a better than normal result for us up in Sector A/B. Most missions ended up much worse than this one did. There were a number of collisions, and in several cases the impact was only detected by one plane so the other machine was unharmed. I also noticed a couple times where a plane had controls jammed, either hard over or neutral, which was lost when otherwise in good shape. We lost several pilots killed, a couple managed to ditch and get airborne again to escort the return flight, and a couple of us survived the whole flight. If not for a jammed elevator, we would have been able to finish the recon instead of crashing right outside the airfield. I saw several unknown Camels and SE5's heading in while we were escaping. I don't know who you were, but thanks for covering our escape!
