Kommando Nowotny-non historical campaign

Notice: 

- Campaign is not historical but inspired by Nowotny unit Einsatz, You fight agains heavy bombers, fighter/bombers and fighters.
-To complete the mission is not necessary to meet the objective. It is necessary to land back on the main or backup base. 

-You fight as second Wingman in Kette formation (3x plane), flying in jet formation need more skill. Dont sleep on start, Take-off together with first Wingman or commander and climb on 93-95% power. You can lost your formation only for short time,  commander always reports the altitude and direction of flight.

-No taxiing for takeoff. The jet-planes were started on the runway from the need to save fuel (Taxiing cost 200 liters of fuel).

-Do not hide the entire GUI when flying a mission. Doing so will disable the messages you receive during flight!

-If You have problem with US intruders after returning to the main base Hopsten, stay in 1500m and  fighters over base cover/Flak help You (maybe).

-If You lost your Kette after fight, fly back to Hopsten with the help of Radio compass. Radio beacon is located in Rheine town.

 

-Instal the file "Kommando Nowotny" to Campaigns folder. Instal enclosed Me 262 skins.

 

Known bugs: AI Me 262 - they have still a problem with landing(v4.501).

These books are highly recommended, especially Jan Horn who wrote his book with help of the former captain of 1./KG51 Georg Csurusky. You can´t get more details than in his book:

I dont know, any problem with language version?

Nowotny campaign now very little update v1.2. Sturmvogel campaign update v1.0b for new patch.

I'm downloading and installing into  " IL-2/data/campaigns and I can see the file under campaigns along with the rest, but it does not show on the in game list of campaigns ?

Nice campaign!

Just can't do anything good with this plane.

I never have been able to reach a speed higher than 500kmh... Certainly due to automatic and no fully flight commands... Don't know...

I've just flew first mission of Kommando Nowotny. It's my first mission ever with Me 262.

Result:  downed 4 B25s and 3 others damaged . I've landed with only few holes and scars on my Schwalbe. 

Definately a " MUST HAVE " !!!

 

 Now my hope is for a Galland's JV44 and Papagei Staffel Campaign...????

Sturmvogel and Nowotny campaigns are updated for new patch 4.702 (resave for Sturmvogel is not tested, send me feedback if you have problems with new clouds)

Hi sevenless, I removed Sturmvogel campaign from this thread. Missions need update. Unfortunately, the date is unknown. You can try new Blitz , maybe there will be something for Hornisse.

No worries. Take your time with updating Sturmvogel. I was just a little confused not finding it.. Yep, I will try Blitz next.

I have BOB, but when I try to play Kommando Nowotny campaign,

there is an error message pops out: content unavailable,

and says that I have to get Stalingrad, Moscow and Kuban?

 

what did I do wrong?

I'm not sure. Try this, remove command from info file: &tows=1,2,3,4  or change: &tows=4

I really enjoy this fun campaign. There is never enough 262 content out there ?

One thing I want to point out is that the flight cover over the main air field do not leave their patrol stance when there is an enemy raid. The enemy literally shot down 262's hundreds of meters away from them, but they keep cycling. Happened in two missions where raids or followers were encountered.

About the 262 ignoring the shooter. This is most likely the jank AI routine of this game. Even thought they fixed that at some point. I must misremember that.

No, you don't. It just doesn't work the way it should. IIRC it did work better after they fixed it, but became worse again with one of the latest updates.

On a sidenote, a slow flying Me 262 is an easy prey for any Allied fighter of that time.

Yeah, I heard a lot about those landing 262 raids. That is why air cover with the danger at landing is so immersive in your missions. ?
Flak does most of the job, but something is wrong with the air cover logic.
