Does this work with the Samsung O+?

Hydra driver works excellent. I tried snap turn before on my old vive controller, and I was not really happy with it. But now, with 2 buttons on joystick, that is something nice :)

Thank you lefuneste.

Just 1 question, I wanted make keyboard combo for snap turn (like "x+r.shift", not "x" only), but it wasn't succesful. I did it with key binding + same key mod, same as "p+r.shift". Somehow that does not work, as with "x" only my view turns. It is not big deal, but it trigges when I am in chat.

I do not know, I'm not a big freePie user...Maybe something linked to order and delay of key press ?

You should have a look on FreePie forum...

Ok, still having the same problems. I doublechecked.
I nstalled OVR Advanced setting via the installer from Github.
But this doesnt make any diffrend. Tried installing it from Steam and the symptomatic is teh same.

So first regarding Sixsense Fake driivers here are my error messages:Razerr_Driver_Error.thumb.jpg.418cf0186ff436f7e8451aefcc0dca5b.jpg
As shown. If steamVR is off just the upper message appears. And if steamVR is on 2 messages shown in the picture below appear after one another.

Regarding the hydra fakedrivers. They seem to run. Because i get the hydra icons in the small SteamVR-Window. When i enter the settings the OVR-settings are there. But they are named "OVR advanced settings" not just "Advances serttings".
When i then enter them i actually  see a strange "Hydra-controller" icon:Razerr_Driver_Error1.thumb.jpg.613250798d9312cc898d5de4c84210a2.jpg

When i click on the Controller I only get to choose between index, oculus and vice controllers. If i choose one of them and then try to reselect the hydra controller its not available. I have to restart SteamVR to see the picture above again.

Then, if i klick the "create Binding" icon, all i see is a black window:Razerr_Driver_Error2.thumb.jpg.28fea7363e1745244139c8e7773582af.jpg

From that point all i can do is restart Steam VR again:(

Guys are you playing other games beside IL-2? Now I have snap turn, but can not use my index controllers for other games. When I start other game, I have 3 possibilities:

a) have green hydra window, with index controllers working.

b) start script, then with r.shift+p I dismiss green window, but my controllers are not working right.

c) disable advanced settings - controllers still not working

So, how to disable virtual controllers when playing other games?

Read the doc, the last part explain how to disable/enable driver4VR or hydra drivers in steamVR.

Of course, read the document looool. It works, thank you.

Maybe it can be useful for others, I have really convenient joystick layout for snap turn and similar:

On same POV (thumb stick on joystick):

1) UP - here is my 3dMigoto zoom 5x, with shift key it goes to 10x

2) DOWN - reset VR view. It is a must, as I often need correction

3) RIGHT - right snap view, when stop keypressing it reverts view back

4) LEFT - same as right

With that setup I can snap turn right, check my six, and then change position on RIGHT+UP = and then I check six with zoom :)

Works for my Reverb, so it should work for O+,,, same WMR platform. I'm using the freePIE and Razer option.

Hmmm. I have had this working in March (pimax, driver 4vr and openvr advanced (no hydra freepie). When I reverted to my hts Vive (am awaiting a new pimax cable, currently stuck at Shanghai airport due to covid, but that’s another story) things became (to use the technical terminology) “mucked up”. In steam vr both the vive controllers and the keyboard will snap left and right as desired. The joy2key is also doing its thing in steam vr)  It is just not happening, either by keyboard or mapped joystick in IL2. The version of driver 4vr is 5.2.2.1

The only other slight discrepancy, which I am not sure is necessarily relevant but maybe, as Winger mentioned, I see no ‘Advanced settings’ In the edit controller bindings list, instead it is “OVR advanced settings”. But it still works as per PDF in setting up the controllers.

It is probably something basic I have forgotten to do, but can somebody identify what this is so I can get my snap view behind working again? I miss it!

Hello guys,

How come I don't even have Space Turn section in Motion Settings?? Hence there's also no Snap Turn Angle part in the the Settings.

HP Reverb here.

Please help me with this.

Thanks.

Very good.

This way of looking at our six, with keys. It could be done with track go. Lately I'm not comfortable and I don't check them well.

Thank you.

.........................

Muy buenas

Esta forma de mirar nuestras seis, con teclas. Se podia realizar con track ir.

Ultimamente no me encuentro comodo y no las chequeo bien.

Gracias.

That's strange, If you rotate with keys in steamVR, that means that driver4VR and controller mapping  for steamVR is working. The problem is in the mapping used when in Il2.

One clue may be the OVR advanced setting instead of advanced setting  ? I'll have a look in my config to check. Or maybe you have a profile for Il2 that is used and then bypass the advanced setting profile ?

EDIT : I have also "OVR advanced settings" in my (working) config...

OVR Advanced Settings menu has been changed, Rotation now is a separate tab on the left of OVR Advanced Settings.

I don't know if this is related but since it was not covered in the tutorial above I had to go to Tracker manager (a button in Driver4VR UI under Tracking section) and Assign my keyboard (you have to detect it first) to both d4vr_left and d4vr_right (keybord-0). That made the bindings work via Driver4VR for me.

Cheers.

Hey, Lefuneste. I switched from Diver4VR to Hydra. I got it working easily, although the script in the original PDF was bonked. I assumed you updated it (I grabbed the proper script from this thread. Thanks Ramulon). I prefer this solution now. Great work, once again!

Warning : the last version (5.2.8.0) of driver4VR is still not working for key mapping.

The current version of Driver4VR 5.2.10.2 works for key mapping and I guess v5.2.8.0 also worked Ok. But you need (-ed) to make an extra step in Driver4VR: Go to Tracker Manager under Tracking section, detect your keyboard first, then assign it to d4vr_left and d4vr_right (keyboard-0 to each). After that it should work Ok.

My 10c.

Cheers.

To some reason the script (or whatever else) doesn't bind the snap left-right keys so it's nogo for me. I think I'll have to proceed with payware Driver4VR, that is easier to package-launch anyway and works very well here.

Sabre, I assume you followed the guide and worked through all the parts? If Driver4VR continues to work for you, great. I paid for it as well.

The zip in first post should include the fixed script for FreePie, as with the documentation. Is it not the case ?

Lefunest. I just meant that the one you originally gave me through private message had the non-working script. I didn't realize you added the working one to the thread, and I was able to grab the script from the post. So, if you updated the zip file, that is great.

You're right, it works if you assign keyboard to controllers. I udpated the documentation in first post with your informations.

By Windows Mixed reality beta do you mean Windows Mixed Reality for Steam? (beta versions on). Actually I've tried mine here and it does just that.

Thanks.

The link to the pdf file does not work anymore in your first post.

Please update.

Thanks.

c6_lefuneste, in your previous copy of pdf (the current is not available yet) I had a question: On page 3 where you explain how to select the angle for snap view, under Space Turn you have a box named Right Hand ticked. Is it on purpose? Please also note that in the latest version of OVR Advanced Settings Snap Turn Angle has been moved from Motion Settings to a dedicated section named Rotation Settings.

Thanks.

Hey,

@[=PzG=]-Ramulon just a head's up that the script you have posted works, but it triggers the settings menu when backspace is hit, not shift+backspace. I was in TAW, took off, sent a message and hit backspace to correct a word, and the settings menu came up and I didn't realize I needed to hit just backspace. Anyway, crashed. I have since used @c6_lefuneste script that was added to the zip on the first post (and the link is, indeed, not working right now). I am attaching the working one.

I'm not seeing "SteamVR Driver for Razer Hydra [beta]" as shown below

image.png.f0e18ed2435cb41cb301966e68a21167.png

My Steam screen only shows:

          -TOOLS (1/91)

Sixense SDK for the Razer Hydra

How do I "opt for BETA in properties"

Also, it isn't clear if this will work for Rift CV1... will it?

Hey @SCG_redcloud111 - I've never sent an in game message so never had that unpleasant experience. I always assumed trying to take my headset off to type would be too tricky.

I've altered the script quite a bit lately. I've just updated the attached s you now initialize with Right Shift + Backspace to avoid any more instances of your unfortunate death on TAW. I was playing around trying to code it to work as a rotate on "button held" rather than "button pressed" but failed.  The good news for me was a fellow forum user, Ninja, was nice enough to explain how to use Joy2key to accomplish this instead.

In this attached script the idea is that only executes the "initialization" code until it's been successfully initialized, then it just checks for the rotation key inputs in a loop. It also removes other, from what I can tell, unnecessary code; like the LeftPressed and RightPressed stuff. It seems like a cleaner way to do it. Less processing I guess.. idk if Python even executes the subs as I'm assuming it does so may make no difference.

I've attached a screen grab of the Joy2Key settings for the "on hold" rotation option too in case anyone is interested.

Is it working with driver4VR or the last freePie script in first post zip ? In this case, if you agree, I can add it in first post, with of course the reference for you. It may help people to find what they need.

I'm using FreePie. No idea if you get the same results using driver4VR. Perhaps someone using it can test and let you know?

As soon as your script is sending the same thing as the keyboard it should work.

For DCS I check the option in the PDF but it doesn't work for me.

Do i have to do something else?

Lefuneste,

Thank you for putting this together!

The difficulty of checking 6 has been the primary reason for me not using my VR. If I can get this working, I can't see going back to 2d, however, I'm having a helluva time getting this to work. At first, I didn't realize that a lot of the steps had to be done with the VR headset on. I was trying to do it on desktop and couldn't understand why I wasn't seeing what was noted in the pdf instructions. (I would suggest that a note be added to when to don the headset be put in the instructions).

I'm using Rift CV1. So, I finally got my Rift controllers mapped in Driver4VR as specified but it's not working in game. I think the issue may be that I had initially followed the instructions for the Vive controllers and I now have Vive as well as Rift controllers loaded in Driver4VR and they also show in the Steam Beta window which shows which VR components are active. I can't figure out how to delete the Vive controllers. Is there some way to delete them and would the dual controllers... Rift and Vive... possibly be the issue?

I also have FreePie loaded but I don't know if the  freePie script in first post zip will work for Rift controllers.

Help from anyone who has a Rift using this would be MOST appreciated.

Check stem vr, setting, Start/stop, then

a) 1st on top; Overlay allowed with starting steam vr (I have just advanced settings here)

b) 2nd on top; Manage extensions (I have OOvrinputemulator, hydra, and Pimax)

There you can disable/enable as needed.

PS: I use freepie

Hello all,

For a poor idiot noob who just bought a quest is there a way to make all of this work ?

Ideally I'd just want to have my pinkie hat on the saitek X52pro being able to look behind......normal mode (no pinkie hat input) i just use the VR (no steam VR, I run with opencomposite) pinkie hat input (bottom) then I look behind....

Thanks for the help
